Had the 7 wood a while and even though I dont always get as much height as I like its around 190-200 yards, 5 iron is 170-175 yards but havent had the irons a long time and still getting them dialed in when weather permits.

That sounds like a great deal. I'm a big fan of the U510. One of my best friends has one and I've been able to just grab it out of his bag and hit it pretty flush. I'd probably buy one of my own if I didn't play with him so frequently.

I was between the U510 and the TM DHY but since TM offers Veterans 15% off I saved 38 bucks and ordered the DHY last night with a Fuji Speeder shaft /high launch in 4 iron A/senior flex

Sadly they only had the VR 8S shaft with a Titleist Driver tip, no hybrid tips, so I bought some mine Vokeys instead.  
I took your advice and bought a Forges Vokey 56 only available in Asia.  Looks really nice.

Still in the shaft debate and what I want in the P790s. 

I think I'm going to regrip the 5.5 project X first and see how that goes. If I'm still not quite feeling it I will take the KBS from the 659s and put them in.

I have to tell you I purchased one piece of equipment middle of last year and it has been a game changer for me. It is a LAB Mezz1 putter. Once you learn to lighten your grip and once aligned all you worry about is pace and distance, this putter is awesome. Not cheap, but a club I use for 28-36 shots per round. I am a 13.2 handicap and using Arccoss, as compared to a 10 handicap, I am now gaining strokes on my putting.

I got fit for the tsr3 with a ventus blue 6X tr shaft. Funny thing is I went in with an open mind. Historically I have NEVER been a titleist guy. But here we are buying a new driver and 3 wood…

Similar thing with me been a TM guy for awhile playing some Srixon irons. Got fit into Titleist 7 wood, 5 hybrid and Callaway Apex 21 irons. Amazing what having an open mind to see what you get fit for.

Man the srixon irons imo are the most underrated irons. I currently have a zx7 / z forged blended set, and a set of zx7 mkii irons. Love ‘em!

i played yesterday with a friend that just purchased the Srixon irons, he was fit for them and they were the best fit, beautiful irons for sure, great choice...

I’m due for a new set of irons. I’ve never been fitted for a set, so this will be a first for me.I have been eyeing the new Takomo irons and they sure look nice, especially for the price !! $459! 
I also need a 56 degree wedge, any suggestions ?

as you probably are aware there are 5 "spy's" testing the Tacomo irons, probably within the next month or so, might be some good insight for you. The muscle back irons I am testing have had some great reviews, compared to Mizuno and Miura (both Japanese built irons) so I think you are looking in the correct direction...

Titleist always seems to take a long time. It has been two weeks since I ordered just some custom numbered ProV1x balls and they have yet to show.

I had the 545 beautiful, was able to try the new irons, but just didn’t fit the height and dispersion. When you hit it pure, those things are fantastic feeling.

I’m 67 years old and was a 1 hdcp until about 3 years ago. Now a 4 hdcp. Over the last 20 years, I’ve bought about 6 different iron sets and drivers thinking I could improve. There really isn’t much difference from 1 driver to the next. Shafts have a bigger influence than the driver head. Most important thing about the driver head is looks. Same goes for irons when you are comparing within the same categories such as player irons, game improvement, etc. As far as putters, it’s all about helping you Kuhn up to the line you see. So, no, I’m not looking for new equipment anymore. Too old to change.

GX-7 woods. Keep seeing the price drop on these. Dr and 5w that you supposedly swing like a 7i. The driver is senior flex probably very whippy. They have LH in regular flex. The 5w for $75 is intriguing me to test out.

 Currently I am considering buying new Irons.  I play Taylormade M2’s 6-PW, and carry 5 & 4 Taylormade hybrids.   I am considering Titlelist T400’s. Or Srixon ZX4/ZX5 combo set. I am also looking at buying 5 iron through pitching wedge and dropping one of the hybrids. Can anyone give me feedback or make other suggestions.  I am kind of wide open and would consider others.

I’m due for a new set of clubs , been playing the same set for about 15 years. Doing alot research on the web for new clubs. Found Patriot golf and Lazarus golf on the web their prices seem to be more in my price range. Hopefully before the year is over I’ll have a new set. Got to get authorization from the CFO  first

Ping g700 and sub70 799 irons come to mind in that range. Sub70 might save you a pretty penny. I like my 699 set a lot. 799 is more sgi design but similar looks.

Hmmm. If the price is dropping then there's no demand.... Not sure but there may have been an MGS article.. on the main site .. about that club maybe a year or two ago...

Did a ball fitting at golf galaxy today. Settled between the Calloway chrome soft x and the Maxfli tour. Had very little difference between them on a 7 iron but driver the Calloway surprisingly was as a few degrees lower launch and a 200 to 300 less rpm. The Maxfli was not to high launch/spin but with being windy is a a regular thing here like the little lower flight. Also my main worry with the Maxfli is it doesn’t have a great wind score in ballnamic. But the Calloway I am not a fan of the ball lab scores especially when having to pay $10 more. I am even intrigued by the chrome soft x ls despite being maybe a little low spin for ideal with no wind but I almost never get that and if I miss it a little I tend to balloon it in the wind and it could help.

Although these are on the way, I just can't stop thinking about them. The worst part is that they got to the shipping facility in Phoenix yesterday and are just sitting there until they can be delivered Monday. 

Yeah I've posted about these in the Maltby thread but these buggers are in my dreams and my subconscious until they show up on my porch Monday.

The these are the shafts/grips that I'll be building these with. These are in my possession.
