Any other homebrewers here? I’ve been brewing for 10+ years - love to talk shop!

Based upon the others who replied to your thread.... I guess I'm relatively new to home brewing as I picked it up when COVID hit.  I'm on batch #12, currently just bottled an Irish Stout waiting to fridge.

I can hack it up on holes from time to time, with glimpses of brilliance on others.

Stout my favourite beer 🍺, never thought about brewing my own but maybe I should?

I’m a hacker who loves nothing more than to change how I play, be that grips shafts and heads its all fair game lol…

Building things..
Most recent big project was building a small trailer kit and modifying it initially to carry a 17' aluminum canoe now I have a vehicle that is (1) to short to carry something that long adequately and (2) too nice to put something that potentially damaging on top of because of (3) increasing age where lifting 17' of aluminum canoe overhead to place on top of the nice vehicle cannot be done with assurance of no damage to very nice smaller vehicle.

canoeframe.jpg.467843317d9382adf3190cffe9b2bc36.jpg

Once Boy Scout days ended for us when son reached age 18, the trailer shed it's bunks for mounting the cartop carrier on the deck and additional boxes increased storage.  The carrier is a perfect pickup truck kind of bed for transporting bags of mulch, sand, peat moss, cement blocks and everything else that would make the nicest vehicle I have ever owned a mess inside.

I golf when it's nice out and lift weights when it's not nice out.  I have a bad habit of getting way too consumed by hobbies (at one point I had the biggest Andrew Bogut card collection outside of Australia) but occasionally I'll get back into playing Football Manager or reading.

Music.  Playing Guitar, Bass and Drums on a regular basis at church.  Depending on the line up I could be on any one of them in a given week.  Sometimes I'm on more than one if we are short handed and I make a backing track.  Mixing and Mastering the good recordings.  Managing the live (in room) and livestream audio.

Futures Trading and Financial analysis/longer term investing.

Working on cars and home remodeling/repairs.

Currently my cars and house are in good shape so it's just golf, music and trading.

Well fishing is a weak competitor for me against golf. It rarely wins out when I have to decide whether to play golf or go take the boat out and fish. So, it runs a close second for me. I find that mixing things I like together works best. My wife and I will generally try to bring our boat when we drive to go out of town on a trip. We will play golf in the morning and take a nice boat ride and fish a little in the afternoon. But I will say that getting and then fixing up old cars has become a little bit of a good mix for us as well. We drive them to car shows and also the golf course. I will admit that we have started a bit of a trend at our club where old cars are being driven up there on weekends now. We have 2, a sweet copper and white '55 Chevy and a weird pink '63 Ford Econoline truck. The '34 Chevy Ratrod I had before, was sold to get the pink truck but it was fun project. My gas cap was a blown piston carved into a skull with a bullet cigar! Yes, that's a keg for a gas tank and a buffalo skull on the front.

I do what I can to not do house work. So when I can't golf due to weather I play some Oculus but mostly I spend a lot of time officiating High School and youth Football as well as High School Baseball and some Lacrosse.

Backpacking, try to get in a week or more out west in the Rockies each year.  I've done some bikepacking as well.   Like to hunt and fish but do only a little of either anymore.  Golf is my primary addiction though! 🙂

On the verge of feeling like another basic person I am also one of the many that enjoys photography. I do it mostly as a hobby but do have some clientele that ask me to do jobs for new cars and portraits.

I am a Canon fanboy when it comes to equipment and love my Canon R6. Looking at getting some more equipment but currently building up the golf bag, so one expensive hobby at a time for me.
