Make any shoe a golf shoe

That is a cool concept. I'll be curious how it works out, but I'd probably give them a shot

I pledged $20 for a pair, if the concept actually works it's a brilliant idea, my only concern is for sneakers that have a thinner sole, will the screw in spike go through?

Great idea but I just don't see it working. Most sneakers don't have the sole rigidity to support a spike screwing into them and then staying in during the movements of a golf swing. And I can imagine it would feel too great for one of the spikes to accidentally press through the sole and into your foot.

Again, great idea in theory - but I just don't think the execution is going to work

I tend to agree with you specially if I want to do it with my converse, I find out in November, not a big investment to try them out. Will let you know.

I love this idea. The cheapest kids golf shoes I can find are $60. I'll be backing it.

I saw the article on WRX and thought the exact same thing about the rigidity supporting the threads especially for a big guy like me. Most sneakers have soft soles too and I think that would add to the rigidity thread support issue too. May work though for a lighter guy

To add to your point, even if the soles were thick and durable enough, many would be equipping shoes that aren't designed to provide the stability needed to properly support your ankles and legs through a full swing.  The idea is awesome and the price was almost enough to tempt me into trying it.  But all I see are unnecessary injuries and blown out shoes.

Yo but I got dope kicks though.

This is quite a reach IMO. As a couple other members have mentioned, the sole rigidity of a pair of trainers appears to be the biggest challenge.

If one is that desperate to turn your every days into golf shoes, why not just strap on a pair of yaks?

Boy, I'm not a fan of this at all.  If you want to use "regular shoes" as golf shoes, just buy a set of trail running shoes.  I suspect they will do much better than these.

Up here we do a lot of things on ice over the winter- by choice sometimes, sometimes not- so ice cleats that strap on to your shoes are readily available. If I was going to try to wear sneaks on the course I'd try this first, although I doubt the greenskeepers would be too keen on the idea.

"Make any shoe a golf shoe"

My take: Make any foot a pin cushion...

The interesting concept here for me is trying to guess how long before the early backers kickstart a class action lawsuit.
