Good morning spy’s 

pretty much a tough weekend for putting for me, 34-34 putts per day led to 81-77, 25th. Place finish at the Arbutus Ridge Open tournament. 
Back to the practice green for me today..I did want to post this picture taken between number 8 and 9 of the course. Have a great day everyone..

Made a tweak to my Scotland itinerary. With a 7 am flight home, and my base a 45 minute drive from the airport, I didn't want to have to get up at 3 a.m. to get to the airport. So I cancelled my last night at the base and got a room a lot closer to the airport. Still getting up stoopid early but an extra 30 minutes or so. Probably will be eating breakfast at the airport anyway. Or at Heathrow on my layover.

Good Monday morning fellow Spies!

Welcome break as it's starting out cooler this morning and not expected to get into the 90's today or the next couple of days. Slight chance of rain but nothing like last couple of weeks. So maybe after three weeks of no league we will finally get back on schedule...

@buckpillar have a great vacation and enjoy the golf!

@Erin B hope everything works out well for your wife and gets her feeling better soon.

@skraeling I can definitely relate as I experienced the same issue earlier this year. Not sure when but I know it was on the 10th hole that my H4 decided to jump ship and swim for its life... Very frustrating to say the least but I ended up replacing it with the V5 watch.

1st cup of coffee & it's not mixing well with my hangover of paint fumes from painting the deck (11 gallons) yesterday. Wife has been told, "I'm golfing next weekend!". Got a new shaft for my driver after bugging the local guys at 2nd Swing Golf for the last 4 weeks by testing everything they had, then getting something from Amazon. To be fair, I'll be regripping everything there this month, just gotta make sure I don't lose the clubs for too long.

For those following along or shopping new drivers for this year, I just added an update to my Unofficial testing thread of the COBRA DARKSPEED X driver. 

Long story short, make sure it is on your list of clubs to try. I have not had a driver perform this well for me since I've been golfing.

Well at least we know that there is a rock bottom number of 5. It is truly impossible to go lower than that. All part of the testing experience!

Well,back from the OBX and it's back to reality it's from 88 to 58 what a shock to the system. Golf today after a week off this should be interesting. Hit'm well everyone.

Good afternoon, golfers!  Due to heavy rain over the weekend, our course was walkers only this morning.  The following picture is the lie for my second shot on the par 4 16th hole.  And.....I was only 5 yards off the fairway.  I was approximately 140 yards from the pin, but no possible way for me to do anything but try to punch it back in the fairway.  It was very lucky that I even found the ball, because it was only visible looking from directly above.

Spent Friday and Saturday at the Selfridge Air Base Annual Air Show, working as a volunteer preparing and serving food to those in attendance.

I love air shows. Back in my army days, I was stationed at Ft. Lewis and there used to be an air show at Paine Field. (It's the airfield right at the Boeing factory in Everett, WA) I saw the SR-71 fly from there. Fast forward 20 years, I am living just south of Everett and have a membership to Paul Allen's Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Musem which is located on Paine Field. They would do regular flying days. Below are some of my photos from there.

The Darkspeed X driver performed incredibly, incredibly well. I will cover more in my review thread, but it is safe to say that it has taken a stronghold on the top spot of my bag. 

Still recovering from a lack of quality sleep from the weekend, so caffeine will be my best friend today lol.

@William P Thanks, but that's my schedule every other week, I work Thursday night 8pm to 8am five days straight finish up Tuesday morning, then off five days the work Sunday Monday nights and have 2 days off. Then I get to repeat it again... I love it!

Isn't the one just up from the bottom a MiG of some sort, maybe the MiG-15? I think that's a P-47 on top, which was a flying tank if there ever was one. And P-51s are absolutely awesome. I knew a doctor when I was a kid who had restored a P-51. Unfortunately it's a one seater and you can't take rides. (My dad is a pilot and devotee of WWII-era airplanes; he built a ton of scale models of them when I was little. Think he still has one in his study somewhere.)

I'm looking at that transition in reverse. Yesterday's high at the Casa: 94. Yesterday's high at Fortrose, Scotland: 53. It'll be a little warmer there in three weeks, but not much; generally highs in the low 60s in early July. Don't think packing shorts will be especially useful.

I used to see my H4 regularly hit the turf when clipped to my belt. Then I remembered it delivered with a mini carabiner so it could be hung from a bag. I now clip the H4 to my belt loop then slide the clip onto my belt. It’s only taken me 2 years to work this out.

Good morning everyone! 

It's a lovely cool morning here and I'm just waking up with a cup of coffee in the parking lot at work. It's always a task motivating myself to walk in of the morning. 

At least it's Tuesday and we've made it through the first day. I have a golf round planned next Wednesday at Nob North with a group of guys I work with. I've wanted to play this course forever and I'm excited to finally get to.

Good morning MGSpies from an already light in the early hours downtown Buffalo parking spot by the office building for the once a week workday here. Coffee is hot and AK's Nothing As It Seems is on Pandora creating a chill mood for the break in comfort before the day gets going in earnest.  Played 9 holes with regular partner for the first time this year and still relearning club distances with the new grip that's my best souvenir from Kingsmill. Will be writing the Smoke review later as I'm going to be challenged to keep it brief while including the adventure that's taken off again in the last couple weeks. Stay tuned.  Hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning spies. Cool 52° start to the day with sun and 81° expected for this afternoon. Looks like a chance for a few small thunderstorms to roll through around noon and late afternoon today.

Yesterday’s range session was a definite positive working on getting distances dialed in with new swing change. Lost a little distance but the improved accuracy so far is worth it. May try to get out for another session after work today.

Good morning all!

Was an interesting weather day yesterday. Started out sunny then some clouds came in that sure looked like rain but only got a couple sprinkles. Most of the family went on a quick bike ride and as we looked back it seemed to be raining really hard, but it never came and as we went by our neighbors they said it did pour for 3 minutes and some how it just stopped and never went anywhere else.

No big plans the day besides work but the weather should be nice today.

Uppa with a cuppa. We’ve had some cooler weather in CNY lately after needing the A/C not that I’m complaining. I have an 8:40 tee time this morning. I like to ease my into my morning with coffee so I’m up early and catching up with the events of the day. Testing of the DF3 is continuing as does my adjusting to its use. 

The wit of some folks never fails to amaze. This is some next level trolling right here.

Good morning Spies! Full day in Raleigh with four patients (each one takes about 2.5 hours, but they can and do overlap), then the 4-hour drive to Charlotte. Still giving my back a break, especially since a touch of sciatica this morning (always in the same place on my left leg). I'll do some piriformis stretches in a minute. But I am not anticipating a fun day.

Trying not to think about the golf world assembling 69.6 miles from my hotel right now (that's the Google Maps distance to the Pinehurst clubhouse, which is right behind the 18th green at #2). At some point I'm going to have to cough up the cash to stay at the resort and play #2, just to check it off my bucket list. Probably should do it soon before the rates go up anymore.

I hoped to get some work/studying done at the hotel last night but the WiFi in my room was off more than on. The front desk said they'd send somebody up to reset the router in my room, which I told them I couldn't find. Sure enough, he came up. There was no router in my room. He said he'd go down the hall and work on the big router. Don't know if he did, but the WiFi never came back and I eventually gave up and watched the hockey game. It's working, for now. I'll be going to work in 45 minutes anyway.

I'm getting ready to head out to the course right now to play a quick 18 with a friend. After that, I've got my honey-do list to tackle. I'm ready to take on the day and make it a good one!

Morning All,

Since I was confined to the lower portion of Hampton Roads, VA yesterday for 14 hours, I got a window in which I was able to get 9 holes in. I started bogey, bogey. followed by 3 pars. Went bogey, double bogey, par, double bogey to finish out my round. I'd say I knew what I did wrong, but I felt like all my shots were great just a tad short. probably didn't help I averaged 2 putts per hole either. Although giving yourself 12+ feet to the hole probably doesn't help on your approach shots. Today is going to be another long day on 4 hours of sleep. Definitely not going to play 9 today, I will instead find a place to nap. Hope everyone has a great day.
