I had the best round I've had in a while today....even with the one week removed aerated greens.   I pared two of the three toughest holes (all in almost impossible pin placements) and birdied 18 by holing out from a sand trap.  Other than that and the fairway sand shot on 17 that was within 12 ft. of the pin, my sand trap performance was pitiful!   

A decent putting day and five up and downs should have been eight!  

Let's hope it's a positive trend!

Smoke from Canadian wildfires can't stop me! Though I did break something in my driver off the first tee; despite the rattling, it still got the ball out there well enough. I was -1 though six on the back, then finished double, par, bogey. Better luck next time.

First round with the Callaway Paradym TD. Put my Project X counter balance Project X HZRDUS Smoke Yellow Shaft 6.0 stiff 60 grams set 1 degree flat and 8 degrees loft. This club is amazing. Swing as hard as I want and hit tight draws which never missed a fairway. The Callaway Paradym Irons continue to impress. Hit several shots stiff today. We had a shotgun start so, we started on the the Par 5 third hole. Hit the drive 305 around the bend. Had 210 into the hole and smoked a 6 iron to 12 feet. Tricky downhill putt that lipped out, but tap in birdie! That described the day!!

Frustrating round.  Make the turn at 1 under par 35.  Proceeded to card two doubles and card a 42 on the back 9 for a 77 total.  Funny how I would feel fantastic if those nines were reversed, but actually feel pretty crappy after going 35-42.

Yesterday was a pretty solid round. I’ve been having some difficulty with aim on the LAB putter. Hitting exactly where I’m aiming with great speed, but aiming left of the hole. I may have figured it out today.  Spent a lot of time tonight on the office putting green, which since the wife is out of town this week, it was moved into the living room. 

I’m happy with how I finished each 9. 1 over par coming into 8 and made a double, which I am unhappy about. Then I hit into the water on 9, but chipped in for a par and was very happy. 39 on the front. 

On the back 9, I was 2 over coming into 17 and got a phone call, hit my tee shot distracted and made another double. So I told myself to concentrate and give myself a birdie opportunity on 18. I actually converted the birdie and shot 39. Total 78. 

No golf tomorrow. Busy week at work.

Hit first five greens in regulation, 7 of 9 on the  front.  Got out of my comfort zone and only had two GIR on the back.  Was 14 of 14 for fairways hit.

Managed to sneak a round in today.

Played with the LAB putter for the first time. More on that in another thread.

Driver was so good. Course is dry and rolling like crazy. Hit my best drive of the year on hole 16. 367 meter hole and only had 67 in and made a good par. Birdie possible, but just didn't happen. 

One of the reasons I booked this round was I saw on the tee sheet a free spot with a +0.3 handicap. Really wanted to see how my game could stack up against a scratch golfer.

Made a bad 3 putt on 1 after having to punch out, but turned things around with 3 great pars with birdie chances on them. Followed up with a near chip in eagle (made birdie)... Then a bad double. 

A bogey on the next hole being in the front side bunker followed by 2 excellent pars with makeable birdie putts.

Back 9 didn't fair as well, but was still a solid finish of 1 over through the final 4 holes.

The other thing with playing with him and his brother was they played whites. Not many play white so this was a fun Challenge. I'm Long enough to play whites, but when everyone else plays yellow i normally play up. 

White plays a full 2 shots harder on the Rating from a 71.3 to a 73.4. 

In terms of yardage it goes from 6480 yards to 6800 yards.

Played a practice round before the weekend tournament as a guest here in Munds Park, Arizona. The tournament is 5 9-hole match play with a championship play at the end if your team qualifies. The team is a two man team. Looking forward to playing.

Pretty simple round, hit the fairway - good hole. This is the local course, not anything special but perfect for twilight walks. The greens are slow and even slower as the sun sets, so I take my putting stats with a grain of slat but 1.9 per hole is about as good as I'll putt out there.

 

The old out-to-in club path has been working its way back into the swing, but I've been finding the center of the clubface. Still playable, just have to aim a little more left off the tee. Overall, feel in a great spot as we enter the prime of Michigan golf season.

Rough day off the tee but managed to hit a lot of greens. Rain interrupted the back nine but we were able to sit out and wait for most of it to pass before continuing. Managed to beat the youngin by 1 stroke on net score which made it all the better. He’s still pretty steamed, lol.

Early bird round before work.  Weaving through the grounds crew but finished 18 walking in 2:40.  No gross birdies today and nothing to really complain about, except for no birdies….3 over on the front 3 over on the back.  12 pars with a few good chances for birdie but couldn’t convert.
