I am driving the ball better, 10 of 14 FW, but I could not commit to the new swing and hit only 5 of 18 greens.  My putting was solid, making six 1 putts and avoiding 3 putts today.  The weather was warm, 87° with 8 mph winds.

First time playing the course. Really left a lot out there with bad course management. Had a handful of good holes but lost it with some really bad ones.

Just a mediocre to bad round of golf.  Driver was all over the place and not very long. Struggled with short game distance while line and contact were decent. Putt speed was overall very good but lines were not. Too many heavy shots on approaches.  Wasn't getting good distances from Arccos and hit some good shots that had bad outcomes from that.  Always good to be on the course but some days are better than others.

Combining league from last week with nine holes I snuck in this afternoon.

Drove the ball well in leagues and didn't make a putt outside 5 ft.

Bombed one on the baked out fairways, caught a slope, and watched it roll:

Opposite story today. Made a last minute tee time and basically stepped out of the car onto the first tee. Didn't find the driver until about the 5th hole and never found the irons. Wedges and putter were OK so I salvaged a 46 out of what could've been a giant mess.

Biggest positives, still beat my brother-in-law by 1 today, and this will be my 5th round posted.

The round that could have been… Better. I put up two 10’s !!! Got into a funk and took me a few holes to get out of it.  I was 3 over after 6 holes and 9 over after 7. 
 

still a fun round. Really only have 3 or 4 really bad swings, the rest were just dumb decisions on club choice.

I had a solid round today, could’ve been a lot better but I literally stepped out of the car right onto the tee box. Not ideal. Had one triple bogey and one 3 putt other than that felt good about my shots. Oh yeah 5 penalty strokes as well.

Played on Friday the 23rd in the afternoon in a steady light drizzly rain, more to get out and get a round in "testing" some "new to me" irons. Consistent off the tee, hitting 11 of 14 fairways, those which missed were not too far off, but not in the short grass none the less.

Only hit 9 of 18 greens, again mostly due to getting iron distances "dialed in" as I had many distances which were between clubs for me playing my usual set.

I will also post an unofficial review of the irons, Mizuno Pro 223's, in a couple weeks as I get more time both on the range and course with them.

Was an ******* away from a combined breaking 90. See how hole 14 looked.

46/48. 3 pars on front, one on back.
 

I talked about this in the how’d you play section. Done highlights:

figured out driver. My p avg for this combined was 294. 34 yards farther than I had been.

a mixed bag of iron play. First nine was fairly good whereas my second nine today was not. Really had to scramble and didn’t hit any of the par three greens today. Intermediate wedges were costly. Opposite for short game. Today much better but sim was kinda off. First nine, no touch. Putting somewhat off both days  really struggled inside ten feet. Worked on that extensively after my nine today to try and gain some confidence.

Short local course with 10 par 3s and 8 par 4s. Played back 9 first and was 3 over going into #1 (10th hole of day) where I preceded to go 4 over on that hole. Then went even rest of round. Nothing like going 3 over on 17 of the 18 holes and finishing 7 over

I am starting to stay in the moment, and the new swing is improving.  Only one swing thought- "COMMIT!"  2 loose shots ruined a good round, but I'm happy about the progress.  It was a beautiful sunny 91° with light S 9 mph winds.

This one was a roller coaster with 30 mph wind gusts for a couple holes on the front.

Game was great off the tee, approach was better than my last time out, couldn't make a putt.

Highlight of the round was the 13th hole.

Perfect drive, full 60 to 2 feet that could've just as easily gone in.

Low point of the round was busting my new Shed Rain umbrella . Had it installed on my ClicGear, big gust caught it while I was taking a shot. Lifted the whole cart enough to tip over and the umbrella took the brunt of it.

Snapped the shaft right above the locking mechanism.

Up to that point it was doing awesome. My buddies cheapo umbrella inverted almost immediately. Mine was riding the gusts, felt like I had a sail!

All in all a decent round of 88 in tough conditions.

We played our Saturday money game today. They put me on the tips! Twenty to twenty-five mile per hour winds made it very challenging. However, the Callaway Clubs held their own! Very good ball striking today! Just didn’t make enough putts. However, still very happy!!!!

Good day out despite the scorching heat.

Aside from about 4-5 loose putts and shots, it went better than it has been lately.  If my speed was more in tuned with the greens today it would have been a few less.  Hitting my putts where and how I wanted, but that didn't match what the putt needed too often to hole anything beyond the norm.  But many had a better chance than usual from outside 10'.

Focused on keep the right elbow as close to my right hip as possible and bringing the handle to my left hip. Obviously, there was much more to it than that, but I had a seriously good ball striking day. 
 

I actually was hitting the ball so much better that 12 greens I hit over the back of the greens. I also was able to reach 3 of 4  par 5’s in 2, and hit through the back on 2 of them. 50 more yards on 1 drive. Made an eagle, holed a bunker shot for birdie and made 2 long birdie putts. 
 

I also made some dumb choices along the way, like twice I went for birdies I had 1% chance of making to keep someone from winning a skin and getting a double when I should have gone for par. I almost played my way out of winning the big bet, but finished with three 3’s on the card and won bet for the low round. 
 

There was a 24 mph wind, but it didn’t really affect my full shots very much. This swing change gave me a low penetrating flight. That’s good because Tuesday I play Trinity Forest. 100+° and 15-20mph winds are expected.

Moved back a tee box today (from Gold to White).  Playing an event in a week where I'll play a course from that length.  Struggled from 60-70 yds. which is unusual for me but felt okay for not having played these tees in a while.
