What kind of golf brush do you use?

Recommended Posts

I've tried them all...

  • little pocket brushes,
  • amazon brushes with the lanyard that stretches,
  • amazon one with water,
  • I had a grooveit but the brush fell off and now I have a 25.00 magnet...

I need something to clean my clubs while I play; what's your favorite golf brush?

I use one of these. Think it’s great. Does clubs, balls and shoes and fits nicely in the bag. You can even use the little points on the “tail” to clean your grooves

I wouldn't say it's my favorite, as I haven't tried very many, but I've been using the frogger for a long time. The groove cleaner on the end is a nice touch.

Big, big fan of the GrooveIt, but I had the same problem. Especially for rounds when I took a cart, it would go in a pocket rather than on the magnet.

But last year, I ended up buying myself the GrooveIt mini. No water spray, but the brush itself is supper tiny (and therefore doesn't weigh enough to get jarred off the magnet). It should be my go to for a long time.

Good ol fashioned wet towel for me. I like all the gadgets and gizmos golf offers, but I keep going back to simple.
I saw JT had a small one clipped on his belt when he was warming up on the range. It looked like it was just a simple brush without any special parts.

I've been using the Amazon one with water and I honestly find it perfect!

No need for any aggressive wire brush. It ensures that all grooves are sparkling as needed at all times and I can quickly clean my clubs if I have to wait on the last few tees: It also saves me from cleaning the clubs once I return home!

I have broke SO many of the cheap black retractable toothbrush style you find at the pro shop.

They always seem to break right at the bottom of the brush before the handle. They usually don't last a month for me, idk if I'm just too rough on them? I'm about to go strictly wet towel and tee to clean grooves, unless someone has a good recommendation.

I'm a big fan of the $0.99 brass brushes from harbor freight. No big deal of I lose or break one and they get the job done.

I just use a cheap one that had both plastic and brass bristles.  Cut the brass ones off so it doesn’t tear up my bag and towels…works great for me.

I have one of the old school brass/bristle brushes in my bag somewhere.  I have a grooveit mini but no magnet.....brush came off during a round so I threw away the magnet.  Happened to play the same course the next day and found the brush 🤣

The brushes are fine, but I generally end up cleaning with the towel on my bag.

Cheap one with stiff bristles one side, soft the other, and a groove spike. Sits on a lanyard on the side of my bag, and does the job very well. Generally use the towel for the bulk and the brush for the nitty gritty bits. Cost about a fiver off of Amazon.

Based on posts here on MGS, I bought a Grooveit during the offseason. Sadly, it was leaking water so fast that it would by dry by hole 13 or so... I took the thing apart and put it all back together making sure everything was very tight. It seemed to last through my last round. I just put water in mine. The magnet is great! It will grab the brush even when it's a good six inches away!

Cheap one i got in a assortment kit on amazon. Soft on one side and metal on the other. Never have to really use the but it's there if i slacked and didn't clean my clubs after the prev round.  That and a wet towel usually does that job just fine. Clean the towel ever other round or two and all set. I do have a bad habit of having 3 towels on my bag though. I think it started from getting towels from the nicer clubs and just never taking them off the bag or my wife getting me a towel cause she doesnt know much about golf but knows i love it so she gets little gifts to support it.

Been playing for about 2 years in total. Winter breaks and a 6month period when I got sick. Starting to feel like myself again and recently played a “okay” round.
I currently have custom fit Cobra LTDx irons/wedges, a Vokey 60(cause my short game has been the best part of my game, and a Maverick 9 deg. Driver. Driving is the worst part of my game so My 4 iron usually takes alot of the long game abuse.

My favorite is definitely the GrooveIt miniG. Never had a problem with the magnet, it’s actually one of my favorite features. Also like the small size of the brush. And prefer the short nylon bristles as they seem to get the job done without wearing out my club face.

I’ve tried a number of other cheap brushes on a lease and had more problems with them getting caught/tangled up in my bag’s stand legs. Wasn’t a fan of the groove cleaning metal pick as it was more likely to gouge my hand or my bag/towel. Also didn’t care for the double sided wire/nylon brush as the wire side also seems to cause my more pain than it did good. I do keep that brush at home when I want to clean up my clubs in the backyard before a round.

I've been using Frogger for years, I think I'm on my 3rd one.  I also have a Groove it and it's been great.  I like having the combo of both, Frogger most of the time but Groove it when I need the water.  My only complaint is I really wish the Groove It brush head sat at an angle instead of a T.  I find myself using it more just to get water on my golf ball to clean it off when there isn't a ball washer handy.

I did just get my kid the caddie splash but he's had it all of one day so no opinion on it yet.

I have not had any issues so far with the Groove It and the magnet.

Get you a cheap tooth brush, some spit, and towel. It works great lol people look at you funny when you pull out a toothbrush but it works well
