Did a couple of tests today with the ghost bag.

Test 1:   in my bag, I usually attach my glove to the alignments sticks when I am not wearing it and I also put my headcovers on the alignment stick when I pull those clubs.  As a result,  the glove occasionally gets pushed down into the bag and I have to retrieve it.   Emptying the bag is not what I want to do and hopefully everyone knows there is a zipper in one of the pockets to allow you to reach in and retrieve things in the bottom of your bag.

The test:  I pushed a glove down and tried to retrieve.

The results::  I think the velvet material at the top of the club tubes will generally prevent a glove from going down easily.   But if lose something and it ends up in the bottom of the bag it is difficult to reach around the bottom of the bag with the full length liners.  I did get the glove but it would be much more difficult if I had clubs in the bag.

Test 2:  I attempted to put the bag on my push cart.   Realizing all carts are different the results may vary.   My push cart is an older Bag Boy that I got for $10 at a thrift store.

The fit:   The bottom fit exceptionally well.  The lack of an external stand enabled the bag to sit securely on the base

IMG_1001(Custom).jpg.d6c4bb9fe68f49b3667ebe98b3527b20.jpg

The "issue" is at the top of the bag.   The mounts for the legs rested against the pads for the top portion of the bag.  While it fits securely I foresee some potential wear and tear on the legs.

Good to know as I'll likely mainly use it with a push-cart in the future. Do you think that the cart sleeve could be of a certain benefit even when using a push-cart?

We know that carbon fiber is an extremely strong material relative to its weight. Despite this property, it is quite vulnerable to blunt force impacts. Do you think that there could an issue with the legs over time if the bag bounces and the legs hit the top push-cart support in repetition for example?

Not sure if anybody has a Motocaddy trolley AND a ghost bag but if so I would be interested to know if there is a way to mount the “easilock” Motocaddy pegs on the base of the ghost bag so this feature can be used

Since the intent is to prevent rubbing and damaging the bag material, I think  the cart strap could be beneficial with a push cart. That will depend on how tight you strap the bag to the cart.  You might need multiple since typically there is a strap,at the top and bottom.   Getting the strap through the sleeve may also be difficult.

the strap wouldn’t help with the interference with the legs.  Maybe I could put a pad between the legs and the cart.   If you look at the picture zoomed in, you will see that it sits on the plastic that holds the legs and not directly on the legs themselves.

Dang it😅

I am forced to cancel my Saturday morning tee time where I had planned on putting the Anyday Ronin bag to the test and carry my clubs for the first time in quite a while.

I just learned that the in-laws will be in town to help with boxes for our upcoming move mid-May (the good news is that I'll be even closer to my local course now). I don't think that I can get away this time 😆.

I'll squeeze a 9-hole round early next week to make up for it so that you can have a few pictures of the Ronin on the course!

@Shlax that Ronin bag is 🔥🔥🔥. Definitely agree that the carbon fiber accents give it a more stand out type look than the all black, which I'm sure looks great as well. The Oreo also has the same back padding material and I dig it.

So this could be just me and the way I think, but I think the whole bag could be a reference honestly. From the Grey color (which is my guess why they named it Maverick, after the color of some fighter jets), the pull tabs being red with white writing ("Remove before Flight", also I know every bag has these but fits to the theme for me lol), to the black GHOST logo and carbon fiber legs being so clean and sleek like Maverick was,  and of course the box. But to get to what I think you mean not that I have noticed yet, but I am still looking over everything very closely so it might be there and I just havent found it.

I really want you to find a really small random thing!

but very fair point on what you have seen!

it’s a great bag

I am THE worst putter in the world… I will not have you try to take what is mine

I’m really looking forward to these reviews.  Quick question for the testers. @cnosil @Shlax @Samuel09152 @arodrig29 how did you decide which bag you wanted to try?

I’ve looked on their website and there isn’t any comparison feature. Would appreciate any insights.

If I’m being completely honest and transparent, I’ve been drooling over the Maverick bag for like 6 months, based solely off the grey synthetic leather. I’m a sucker grey and blues, so I was in between those two. So I chose the one that first grab my eye 😍

I had looked over and over at them and realized as features they all are pretty much the same, the differences being the color and the back part on the Oreo but that was all I could tell at that time. As far as main features, they should all be the same I believe.

They make 2 bags: the anyday bag and the weekender bag.    We were picked to test the anyday bag which left us with simply which color did we want.

Hi @Hacker60521! As @cnosil mentioned, there are only 2 bag models on Ghost Golf’s website (i.e., the Weekender and the Anyday which is currently being tested in this thread and has been acquired by many Forum members as part of a special offer. The only difference between the Anyday bags being tested in this thread indeed lies in the color scheme.

i must admit that the Patriot currently being tested by @arodrig29 was the version that initially caught my eye and in all transparency, is the version I thought I had ordered. I somehow selected the wrong bag (most likely due to my thrill of learning that I was selected as a tester) and got the Ronin which to be fair, was my close second choice!

Now that I got to test the Ronin bag and explore it in depth, I can say that I am really happy with my selection and wouldn’t straight go back to the Patriot given the opportunity. These bags are wonderful and I personally like the simili-carbon fiber accents on the Ronin!

I’m really looking forward to these reviews.  Quick question for the testers. @cnosil @Shlax @Samuel09152 @arodrig29 how did you decide which bag you wanted to try?

I’ve looked on their website and there isn’t any comparison feature. Would appreciate any insights.

We had the chance to choose any of the options of the any day bag. I went with the Patriot because, well blue is my favorite color. I initially wanted the Black Ops color way but was worried about grass stains. lol.

Turns out I went tonight for a quick 9-hole round and ended up playing a full 18! There wasn’t anybody on the course and my random playing partner and I played in just under 3 hours. Nod bad for an unplanned round after work!

I birdied the first hole which HAS to be thanks to the Ronin😝.

Here is a teaser (another post with more info is coming) of the bag out in the wild enjoying its time.

*My playing partner must have wondered what in the world was I doing snapping random pictures of my bag every few holes*🫣

As said in the quoted post above, I went for my first run with the Ghost Golf Anyday Ronin stand bag yesterday. Here is what I experienced:

  • I carried my clubs instead of using a push-cart for the first time in probably what is now 6 or 7 years. It was a breeze! The straps are as comfortable as can be. I fiddled quite a bit to get the adjustment just right and I think that the bag might still be resting a bit too low on my back, but I'm not too far from the perfect fit. Overall, the bag is very comfortable to carry (shoulder straps, backrest and balance) and I didn't have any issue hauling around the 29-30 lbs that my full bag weights.

IMG_4205.jpeg.173c273dcf2b693bd34c58f5924128ad.jpeg

  • The legs are sturdy and deploy easily. I didn't have any issue leaving the bag on a steep incline either. However, in comparison to more "standard" or maybe less premium stand bags that I know of where there is a sort of external kickstand at the base of the bag, I found that dropping the bag on the tilting base did not always result in the legs deploying appropriatly. Instead, putting the bag upright on its base and then sort of allowing it to roll made the legs deploy more efficiently and with their full amplitude each time. After only a few times, this movement can easily be made in one smooth motion so that it's not a problem at all during a round.

IMG_4190.jpeg.2fda1c9df9bfaeadc5876cd44e2a25c4.jpeg

  • My 32oz insulated rambler fitted securely in the cooler-lined pocket. No risk of it falling out at all.

IMG_4195.jpeg.47e3a81f98c34485fe459f66428aa21a.jpeg

  • The bag is still stunning. Everytime I walked out of the green to put my putter back in the bag, I could appreciate the class oozing out of this bag. It looks very premium even with a towel and a dirty glove hanging out of its side. I did clean the base with a damp cloth and it still looks brand new. Looks like the PU leather will ensure that the bag stays clean and fresh for a long time.

IMG_4185.jpeg.a6be394d5d32d375e6caae5e05780775.jpeg

Overall, I really enjoyed carrying my clubs and think that I'll do it much more frequently now. The comfort of the bag definitely has a lot to do with it!

I’ll repost this picture because it’s simply worth it😍.

For those that walk, have you found a preference to the single or double strap system?

If you carry your clubs, most definitely the double strap system (harness)! No comparison even remotely possible.

With proper adjustment, the weight of the bag is spread evenly to both shoulders which makes it a breeze to carry your clubs for 4+ hours with a proper posture and without pressure points.

I thought that simply carrying the bag on one shoulder on short distances from a greenside to the following tee was a bit awkward and not very comfortable. I wouldn't suggest to anyone wanting to carry their clubs to use the single cart bag strap honestly, both for comfort and health (posture and potential back-related issues).

As someone who carries occasionally, I only use the single strap when using my push cart or riding cart. Always use the double straps when carrying the bag.

When I do walk, I have to use the double straps. Otherwise I end up with a ton of tension and soreness on my right trap.
