I have no idea if this is unique to these guys or not (but will find out!), but this thing looks cool.  Effective and useful? We'll see, but it looks like fun to try...

I've seen that before and always wondered how effective it could be. Seems like following a mechanical device wouldn't translate much when you go to do it on your own. But maybe it does. It looks like it only makes it through a 3/4 shot. If someone makes a full swing after that, they could get out of position at the top and have no idea I bet. It would be hard hard to go from following the moves of the club to moving your body so the club moves that way I would think.

If you try it, make sure to give us your thoughts.

I have a buddy that just did this, he signed up for a package but I'm not sure how many lessons that is or what he paid.  He said it wasn't cheap though.

He's only been in once so far so I'll try and get his thoughts after he's been there a couple more times.

On the one hand I think it would be greatly beneficial to actually feel where the club is supposed to be.  Once my body can feel what it's supposed to do it's easier for me to do it again.  Kind of like giving someone directions to your house.  The first time to drive there in a car you have to really follow the directions, once you've been there once it's much easier to drive there again without the directions.

On the other hand it seems like this pigeon holes you into the idea that one swing is the ideal swing for everyone.  For instance this robot would have a field day with Furyk, but it turns out his swing is still pretty effective.

Your winters are too long in Minnesota!  Too much time on your hands.  :)

Actually, this is a good idea as it looks like the robot can be adjusted to just about any swing.  It would have to be on a single plane for it to work for me.  I typically practice swings in very slow motion trying to hit key spots along the swing path.  Helps to be repeatable on full swings.
