I'm not all that surprised really. Even though I've bagged 2 of their clubs (wedge - driver) in many years past I never liked their offerings. I bought the driver when they first got into the business because it was cheaper than anything else at the time. The wedge I played for 3 years and it was a good club IMO. The golf club business is a tough one. For anybody.

That is exactly what it is. Usually Nike is the company that pushes things to the next level. Just seemed like Nike Golf Equipment was stalled right from the beginning. 

 

It is going to be very weird to see Rory dressed in Nike swinging the 917 Driver

Sucks. I really looked forward to Nike gear every year. It was hard to get any fitted clubs which is why I don't have any besides my wedges and putter but always gave it a shot to kick anything out of the bag. Hopefully I'll be able to snag some new wedges from them before they're all sold out

This is shocking news. We've heard the rumors, especially with the recent price drop. But most times it's just that, rumor. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Why would someone spend big money for Rory? Isn't he the marquee guy for the company that just went belly up?

 

I'm guessing that someone will but the reality is that he hardly pushes the needle. Tiger pushed the needle and even though he doesn't play probably still pushes it more than anyone else.

Tiger has already confirmed that he will slowly make a switch over to New equipment but no word who as of yet.

 

Nike had a pretty good Tour staff, even if it was a small one. Interesting to see Where they will all go And how their contracts will work.

 

Word is everyone at the Oven has been laid off. They're gonna keep on Mike and the other main guy to keep the Tour guys happy through the end of the year.

 

Damn.. For some reason this depresses me. I dont currently game any Nike stuff but everything I've gamed from them in the past was solid. If you had put me in an all Nike bag and made me play a RZN platinum I wouldn't have complained one bit.
