Hi everyone,  I'm Jim and a new member to this forum.  I'm a retired Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) and an avid golfer.  I always felt it was important for Superintendents to play their courses.  Like to tell my customers that I play well enough to understand what the pros and low handicap players want and poorly enough in sympathize with the high handicap players.

 

My handicap ranges between 5-8 depending on my putter and the various weather we "enjoy" here in New England.

 

I have found this site very interesting and informative and look forward to continuing to visit here often.

Welcome from the Pacific Northwest!  Glad you joined us Jim.  I would love to hear some superintendent "tales"; I'm sure you have some good ones.  I followed around the WSGA Course Rating Committee last summer and learn a lot.

rekev, I grew up in the Berkshires near Pittsfield but was the Director/superintendent of Presidents Golf Course in Quincy, Ma. for almost 40 years
