This is very tragic.  With the problems Feherty has had in the past that he has overcome, I really hope this doesn't drive him back down that path.

He has a lot of people around him who will keep him from that path again. Its not easy when someone goes at a young age like that.

Sad to hear this.

Especially as he has been through his own battles.

I met him once many years ago when he was part of a tv commercial being shot at a course we had just finished that was ready to open. Came and got us poor slobs on the crew and took us up to the 5 star catering wagon for the tv folks and said 'get what you want lads'.

Steak sandwiches and the rest all around.

Salt of the earth in my book.

That is so sad ...... You never know when a loved one will leave this earth so appreciate each day you have with them. I don't see my son as much as I would like as he lives in another town .

My heart goes out to the Feherty family.  I hope that David has the will to fight on and maintain his sobriety.

 

Addiction is a very cunning disease.  Whether drugs, alcohol, gambling, or any of the myriad issues, it is a heartless and cruel disease which is chronic, progressive and fatal.  It takes hard work, vigilance and persistence to overcome- Twelve step programs do work, I am a witness, but like golf, if you don't work at it, it doesn't get better.
