My 2018 WITB (to start the year anyway!)

Been a LOT of changes to my bag this year as I picked up the game in earnest again after a long 5-6 year stretch of only playing 1-3 times a year. Trial and error has led me to all of the clubs that I have in the bag now:

Ping G400 Driver 9* loft Ping Tour 65 shaft

Ping G400 3 wood 14.5* loft Ping Tour 75 shaft

Ping G30 19* hybrid Ping Tour 85 shaft (just picked the shaft up off of ebay)

Srixon Z565 4-7 irons with UST Recoil 95 shafts

Srixon Z765 8-PW with UST Recoil 95 shafts and some lead tape to get swing weights in line with the 565's

Cleveland RTX-3 52 and 58 degree raw wedges

Edel E-3 Torque Balanced Putter, 34" 72* lie angle. Still searching for the right grip for this one but I LOVE the putter itself

 

Bushnell Rangefinder and Shotscope V2 have been big additions to my game this year and have really helped me improve.

 

Will be looking to add either a Utility iron or 5 wood to fill the extra spot in my bag. Hoping to get down to scratch this year.

Great setup- gotta love the lead tape- old school! 

 

my setup remains the same- with one potential exception- whether and when I decide to put the MLA into play.  I wasn't too keen on starting out on cold, wet and slow greens,  I want to spend some time on the practice green this spring, comparing it to my Cleveland and seeing which feels better, then making that choice...MTF.

Thank you! I really like the raw finish in the wedges. I used to have an old set of Callaway Prototype Raws back in the early 2000s and I had been missing that look and feel. Glad I went back that way.

I have the same Recoil 95 F4's in the wedges as well. It's been a really good shaft profile for me.

So tinkerers are gonna tinker right? I wasn't able to get the bounces where I wanted them on the RTX wedges and have since went back to some Vokey SM5's in raw black. Also added another wedge so I am now 46PW, 50F, 54M,60L. Added a little custom stamping to the Vokeys and am happy to say i am getting better at it.

 

 

G30 hybrid is in time out after an ill timed hook cost me in the Member-Member recently. I am bagging two Srixon ZU45 utility irons now and loving them.

 

Updated my 5-7 irons to matching S765 irons instead of the 565's that I was using. Distance control is better but they are a little harder to elevate.

 

 

Putter is still a merry go round. Hoping to find the right dance partner soon. I have ordered a Cure CX1 to throw in the audition rotation.
