Good morning Spies on a back to work Monday here for me.

Worked all day yesterday from home but need to go in at least 3 days this week to finish up requirements there.

Hoping that I can be done before Friday morning, to at least get a day or two off before the Christmas holiday.

Weather here currently cloudy and the high of the day is now at 37, with falling temperatures and increasing winds coming as the day moves onward.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Wednesday I fill out the paperwork for the very pt job at the golf course, then perhaps a round after that with my son. (He's never played)

Good morning Spies! Well this morning started out with a mercy kill... the dogs were outside making a ruckus and when I went out there to see what was going on, they had maimed an opossum and were playing with it. Felt bad for the poor thing as I took the shovel to it to put it out of its misery. The dogs were sure proud of themselves though. Back to my coffee now. No work in sight for me, hoping I can get some putting practice in today. As the kids have 2 days of school I'm hopeful the honey-do list is short so I can maybe get to the new indoor range I haven't been able to visit yet. For those in place to play actual golf, hit em well today! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. The home stretch. The last four work days of 2023. The light at the end of the tunnel is definitely sunlight. Cold winter day in the books today but a warming trend is coming and by Friday it should be mid 40s or low 50s as a high. Lots planned for testing the Ai One outdoors coming up. Just have to survive through the week. Coffee is in hand and car is warmed up. Let’s do this! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning folks! Got to play yesterday and man I'm clearly still in the thinking phase of swing changes. The first few holes went well, but then it went off the rails and had a difficult time even making contact with the ball. This took place from about hole 5 thru 14. I didn't figure it out until 15, but I wasn't using my entire right side to come through the ball. It was ALL arms. Once I figured that out it all came back. It's all part of the process though. Just have to keep up with deliberate practice until it's completely ingrained.

I'm back on for another system upgrade for work. 4th afternoon in a row, but you do them when you can and when the environment is quiet (or as quiet as it can be).

Got my office "remade" with cutting the desk off and mounting it to a raise/lower desk. It makes a world of difference to me and my back/shoulders/neck. It's going to be great once I get it all finished up and get my monitors on a dual-arm mount, a surge protector mounted under the desk to clean up the wires, and 2 holes drilled in the top to feed the cables through. It'll hopefully be done at the turn of the year, but we'll see if I can get everything I need.

Anyway, have a great Sunday everyone. See you in the morning.

Good morning Spies!

Had a relaxing Sunday that involved watching the PNC Championship and a Bills win to top it all off. Doesn't get much better than that.

Today doesn't feel like a Monday, but unfortunately we're back to the grind this morning. Luckily it's a short week that shouldn't be too busy.

Working from Florida the next two days before we head back to Chicago, so we're hoping to take some longer lunch breaks to enjoy the sunshine.

Good morning MGSpies from a clear and mild (for an acclimatized WNYer) Cary NC morning after a successful overnight journey down the highways and biways of NY, PA, MD, WV, VA and NC mostly in rain that makes me praise the inventor of RainX for the windshield, as the faster you go and the heavier the rain, the easier it is to see through the glass without using the wipers, and most of the drive wipers were not used hoping to get in at least 18 holes while I'm here for the week. Hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning all!  Got a full round in for the first time in a few weeks yesterday - a rare 70 degree and no wind day for mid-December up here in the Panhandle.  Course was still very soft and dormant grass was thin, but a great time. 

Got to finally use my new wedges (Vokey SM9's) somewhere other then a turf mat & sim.  A little more head weight then what I've been drawn to in the past - hard time getting attack angle just right and catching them too little heavy or thin at first, but started getting it dialed in towards the end.  Incredible spin control with these suckers. 

Just a few more days at the office this week, then off until 2024.  Hopefully get a few rounds in with family that are visiting.

Crazy, and I mean cuh-ray-zee, amount of wind and rain here last night .. the house was a-rockin! So now to pick up the trash and debris that got dumped everywhere...

Then off to the Chiro to get straightened out .. well at least a little bit of correction in the spine

Like several others, work year is winding down with Wednesday being the last day of work before returning on January 2nd.  Checked the extended forecast and it looks promising to get in a few rounds of golf.  Hopefully the courses will dry out after the rain that we got yesterday and overnight.

Finally blue skies in Central Florida and a brisk 57 degrees.  A bit windy so it's a tad cool as well.  No golf today, working from home.  On 2nd cup of espresso and ready for the day.  7 days till Christmas, wow!

Good morning Spies, and happy Monday!

It's the last working Monday for everyone (hopefully) since Christmas is a week from today. So that's a good thing. The University is closed all next week, so I get a "free" week off from work. Granted no real plans other than to work on my office and hopefully get my new nets up in the garage. Dad and I area also going to completely redo the laundry room with all new cabinets and a bench, so that may be on the agenda as well, but we'll see when my sister will be heading home.

Other than that, hopefully a quiet week this week with a lot of people out already.

Good morning! It’s neat to hear that people are winding down their work years soon. I have one more work day left and that is Friday. Today I’m planning to organize my home work shop in the house because I’m going to spend as little time outside as possible today. 36 degrees, flurries, and it is WINDY!

Goodmorning my friends!! 

Hope you are doing good! We are finally getting back to normal in our house, but its been a rough past couple nights. The daughter seems to have the drainage coming out her nose instead of her ears getting backed up. So that is good, but she seems to be having a hard time. Hopefully, she will be back to normal soon. Plan on playing on the simulator tonight, and also Bridgestone is sending out emails about test their new golf balls. I was selected so I plan on writing a review on her as well.

Good morning all!

Had a nice weekend getting some time with the wife, helping our friends move into their new house, some pond (or bog if we are being technical) hockey which my son loved, and the usual errands. Now its raining and water is running all over the place as some of the ground is still frozen. Another work week a head before the holidays getting through things so we are all set for the time off. Finally, deWiz final review is up so please go check that out.

Happy Monday, MGS crew! Covid test 1 of 6 done this morning in order to keep coming to work, even though I am still testing negative. I am really not looking forward to or seeing the purpose in me having to test 6 times over the next two weeks. What just occurred to me, which is comical, is that my wife will have to wear a mask for a less amount of time than I will, even though she was the one of the two of us that tested positive when she comes back to work. Lol. Tell me how that makes sense 

Relatively busy day between my work schedule and working on some articles, but should be a good day!

Cold and snowing this morning. No golf related activities outside today. Will do some putting on the mat later today. Honestly, testing this new Odyssey milled putter has, I believe improved my putting. (I WANT to take the credit but, no…. it’s really the putter).

Weekend with family was pretty good. Got all the food done, presents ordered and delivered, etc. - Now just one more barrage to fire this coming weekend. Although, it is supposed to be really nice this Christmas weekend so I might sneak away for a bit on Sunday. Maybe…

Today is: Answer the Telephone Like Buddy the Elf Day (not kidding). I kinda do that all of December anyhow so….. my calls have REALLY tapered off in the past week or so too…. weird.

I am ALIVE… On this mayhem Monday. Weather wise starting in the low 40’s with highs in the low 70’s. Only one more day of work this year and that is a day of my choosing. Saving it, just in case I need to make a run for it, from you know who. Speaking of the “ Girl Grinch “; she is busy  bossing the tree trimming specialists. I will be leaving the house as soon as the first axe, chainsaw, or shedder is deployed. 
   Would like to note that while playing yesterday; that the foursome was using Ping, Vokey’s, Cleveland, and ( ) Edison wedges. All of us had difficulty in hitting 1/4 to 1/2 shots near the greens. Evidently the grounds crew had a great Saturday night and got out of pocket and twisted off. Sprinkler system was left on just a tad too long at a few of the greens and more specifically areas around a few greens. Ground was very wet and the dreaded Caliche was activated. We all tried various type shots with different types of lofts. Every wedge that made ground contact in the Caliche got slowed or stuck in the plasticity of the wet Caliche. Fortunately, as a group we only had a handful of non practice shots out of the wet, wet Caliche areas. Those of us playing had handicaps between high single digit to mid-teens. Short version of the story; giving the Edison’s a pass on the Caliche failures as they continue to improve in other shot attempts. Hitting them into the greens, they are still sticking and stopping as if the greens were made of the wet cement like Caliche. 
   Make this Monday, yours my spies. This Ancient Ager is going to find a nice tranquil area with a couple of old friends and just kick back and give this a try.

Waking up to a bit more snow on the ground, but it’s a week before Xmas, so I hope everyone has gotten their last minute Xmas shopping done or in process.  

No worries in Alberta / Western Canada, Christmas will be White. Seeing green grass on a golf course will be a long wait.

Good morning my dear friends! Happy one week before Santa squeezes his fat wide ass down that chimney to see the hap hap happiest…… well we all know the rest! Today is a warm 30 degrees but do to wind conditions feels like it’s 15 so I might go hit some wedge shots in the back yard with the kids! Then fold a mound laundry and wait on my irons to get here!

Good morning spies. Cool and partly cloudy here in Mesa this morning. Shaping up to be a high 70s day and a great one for a round later this morning.  I have some golf related things to do first. I wrote a program (out of python programming language) to score the Wild Bunch men's group games. The requirement is the games must be posted so no alternate shots or scrambles. This morning is the final testing on what I call 4 boxes (I am sure there is another name for it). 4 person team, score two players per hole. Each player has 2 sets of adjacent holes where that score must be used. The other score can be any of the other three players. So player one must use his scores on holes one, two, ten, and eleven. Player two starts on hole 3 and so on. 

Once that is done I have to go tweak my home made bag rack that sits on the back of my golf cart. It needs a lower support to stop the bottom of the rack from bouncing too much if one of the back tires finds a hole. I ride the cart in the summer when it is tooooooooooooo hot to walk. This time of year the cart transports me to and from the course and to and from my assigned hole. The course uses a shotgun start twice every day.

The weather in Indy is confused.  Cold today.   No golf in the near future. Maybe Friday or over the weekend we can bundle up and get a round in!

A full week of work ahead for me, and then lots of family time between Christmas and NYE.  I have to do some shopping in there somewhere!  Looking forward to it!

I have traveled to Fort McMurray AB, Canada in the past for work, and in the mid-September time period that year, they had to de-ice the plane before we could take-off for Calgary.

Changed flights in Calgary but it was above freezing so no issues there.

Alberta has a lot of beautiful natural scenery, just way too cold for any golf season to last for more than a few months.
