The USGA/GHIN says on average, a golfer should hit their actual handicap once every four or five rounds (20-25%).  That's because your handicap is not intended to represent what you will shoot but captures your demonstrated golfing ability and what you could shoot.

Today's round seemed like I could have played better, but I shot my course handicap!  I guess statistically that can happen.

Everything was about or slightly below an average performance level.  Fairways in regulations (for me) was a little down, greens in regulation were slightly up, up and downs for par were a little lower and 27 putts were slightly better than usual.  All together, a very average round.  

In the end, I guess I'll take it (in reality, I really don't have a choice).  It helps offset those days I play really well, but can't score!

Horrible front 9 from me, but I was able to clean it up a bit from 11-18! 

Never played this course before and it was really nice. Not long but very selective with hazards and distances.

Steady round today. I played pretty well. Got finished just before it started to storm. We heard the thunder, but we were on #17. No birdies, but played pretty consistent. I should have taken pictures of the storm coming it. Not very nice looking clouds.

Driver let me down in this round but short game was really strong, highlighted by a chip in on hole 13 (played the back 9) for birdie. I ended up with 16 total putts, and was +2 through 6 before I hit a speed bump and doubled hole 16, then bogeyed 17 and 18.

Picture perfect day weatherwise, although it did get warm in the afternoon.

Played well, only used driver on 5 holes total, using my 3 wood more than any other club off the tees, except for the part 3 holes.

Hit 11 of 14 fairways, 12 of 18 GIR's, and putted reasonably well.

Have another tee time for Thursday at a different course, playing with some retired Army friends in the morning.

Not a bad outing.   Just made a couple silly mistakes and had a poor day with my wedges.   I did drain a 65 putt for bogey though.   ;).  Good times

Tough day for the greens.  We were the first group off for the day but later in the morning they were having a junior tournament on the course.  They tucked the pins in some outrageous spots, just over ridges, in small bowls in back corners, etc. More putts than normal but that is also due to pins being really inaccessible on approach or chips, leaving long first putts, and almost a 4 putt.

One of my best rounds of the year.  Lessons beginning to pay off.  Short game and Lab rat (putter) were on fire.  Had 4 birdies in a 30 putt round, but could have been double that with one putt hitting the flag stick and staying out, 2 stopping at the lip of the cup and one doing a 360* tour of the cup but not falling.  Very pleased with the round.  Only disappointment, bogeying the 18th hole in what would have been an under par round.  Oh well.

After 3 rounds of Accupunture and massage sessions on the back finally played a round. Played dinker golf to protect my back. Hit 8 fairways, only 10 greens and had 32 putts. We started on the back side and I was 3 over after the first 5 holes. Knocked off the rust and played the last 13 holes 1 over. Had a lot of putts lip out. The second nine aggravated the back and it was painful. Not sure if I have another round in me this week. At least I have a score posted.

Little bit of a nervy start to the round after getting paired up with two people I’ve never met and no warmup time. Really settled in on the back 9.

Had a crazy two hole stretch, going from one of my longest drives of the year to topping my drive short of the fairway the next hole yet scored the same on both

 

Overall a nice day off the tee and pretty solid recovery when tee shots did go wayward. Hit some pretty bad lag putts but other than ok on the greens.

First time being able to play here specially with a weekly evening rate of $42. Its known to be a great course in my area. Very well kept and manicured fairways and greens but thick rough penalizing anyone who makes a mistake with hills and balls sat below the top of the grass. Needless to say ill be back to work on this but the goal was under 100 for my first time there.

Man, hits off the tee were just not working today.  Felt like putting was terrible, but was actually better than it's been the last few weeks.  The new irons are fantastic!

Got a new PB for this course by a large bit.  At least 10 strokes down and I felt like I didn't even bring my best game.  I did get the sense that I had a chance to get to 100 from these tees.  It's around 500 yards longer than my home tees.  Gross round stats wise everything was better than average except fairway hits.

The back 9 was an improvement.  Started hitting GIRs and made a few pars.  A few blow ups, but tighter than the front. Would have been better if I didn't get stuck in the trees after my drive and duff half my shots on 18.

Let's see if this can become a trend with my round on Sunday back at the home course.

I feel that golf is a lot like sex.  Sometimes the sloppy stuff works better, and getting it in the hole is what really counts.
