Played in a scramble on Wednesday and was using up the leftover BX that I had. I quickly remembered why I went back to the V1x personally, I just can't get enough spin on the BX around the greens. If you end up sticking with the BX lmk, I got probably 2doz left that I'll sell you on the low, or trade you for V1x if you got a supply!

Old BX?  If so, I didn’t care for those either.

Nah the newest one. Wherever Bryson found extra sauce around the greens with the latest model, I'd like to know, because they don't spin for me, and neither did the old BX

Iron play is the weakest part of my game by far. My inability to hit greens is what’s keeping me from scoring consistently, and has been for a while now. I’ve had a lot of good results with hybrids however, so I am going to be trying something out in a few weeks.

My 18* Cleveland Hy-wood lost it’s spot to a Rouge ST Max, and I had to bring it back to the PGASS before the 90 day playability ended. I really don’t need anything though, the rest of my bag is behaving nicely, so I decided to take a flyer on something.

I ordered two Launcher XL Halo irons, a 7 and a PW. They’re supposedly the most forgiving irons out there. If they live up to their billing I’ll order the 8 and 9 also. If they don’t, I’ll simply chalk it up to experience, and deal with the fact I’m never getting to single digits. 😱

Update on my balls...🤨

If anyone cared to know..

Played the entire round with the ball on the left. Feel and performance is top shelf! Love the look of the matte white. Any grass or dirt stains wipe off easily and don't leave any discoloration.

The biggest scuff mark was from hitting a full chip out of an AZ waste area. As you can see, the used ball on the left nearly looks like the new one on the right.

So far I'm super stoked about these!

I really like the personalized marker on those, is awesome! The MaxFli's have impressed me in the one round I've played with them. They feel good of the face of the club, I like the performance around the green, and the feel off the putter is really good. The only complaint I have is that I think I bought a box that was unusually attracted to trees. At least 8 of those suckers are gone and hopefully the other box likes short grass. 🤞

The “Tree Finder” balls are not exclusively yours.  They are somehow  divided out between all of us golfers.  When you think you’re playing well your percentage of “Tree Finder” balls increases.

Yeah, I'm sure THEY will play well, let's hope the operator is able to make them play well.  They definitely have a bit more forgivenss in them than the 223, but still a great looking head.   I'm anxious to maybe get them on the range today and possibly course tomorrow.

Gonna find out if it was the combo of weight and flex that had me not liking the RPG or if it was just the flex. Just picked up a Diamana ZF 50TX shaft. I have read that the ZF and RPG are similar so I figured why not. I know it won’t be apples to apples but hoping the lighter weight gives me that load feeling the rpg didn’t have.

Oh, age is a factor for me as well. 🤪 Dick’s had the 2020 TM TourResponse for the same price as these and they had the 2022 version as well for $5 more but these were my go to ball when the Snell balls were in short supply last year.

SkyTrak worked well for me apart from not being able to use it on grass.  The unit I had did fine outside on my deck which is where I have a net set up.  Also horizontal alignment took some work.

2 things I like about BLP.  1. Put it down align it with stick and you are ready to go.   2.  Club data.

I’ve had a bunch of shots where spin data didn’t show today.  It was the first hiccup I’ve had so far with BLP

Bought a used Sim Max 2 5 wood on a whim. I hit both the Sim 2 Max and Ti a few months ago on Trackman and it was keeping up with my current 3w (15.5*) on a carry basis with less roll due to higher launch angle and spin. Of course my consistency of strike was better with the 5W so my averages were much better and dispersion was tighter. All good things. I didn't buy a 5W then because I was getting along with my 3W okay. Now my 3W is acting up again (low launch with little spin) and I felt compelled to make a change. It is my hopes that the 5W launches higher (a certainty at this point) and is more consistent. I am happy to give up 10 yards if it tightens both horizontal and vertical dispersion but, based on my TM session, I may not be giving up 10 yards at all. Interesting how I can get the same ball speeds out of a 5W as I can a 3W but maybe it just creates a much better launch position. Anyway, supposed to arrive tonight and I play on Sunday. Wondering if I just can the driver and play a tee up and force myself to use the 5W off the tee all day and see how we get along.

Most amateurs benefit from the higher lofted woods compared to those that are in the 13-15° range because of what you mentioned. The better contact from more loft providers better launch conditions and they carry the higher lifters wood as far if not further the lower lofts as a result. Yes you will probably see less roll out because you have better overall launch, spin, peak height and land angle. Total distance is always dependent on what the course conditions as well as ball flight are.
