West Monroe?

Drove up to see West Monroe play Evangel Christian in the late 90"s when I was at Fort Polk.  Bradie James is still the best high school football player I have ever seen in person.

Yep. I coached Mingo in hoops. He played three sports, and in track he ran the 4x100, 4x200, and the 4x400. Kid can fly! If he could keep weight on, he’d be a yearly starter in the NFL! Such a good kid.

That would be a Super Bowl I rematch.

Same result do you think?

My brother-in-law (and sister, and their 3 sons) would be fine with that.

Well.... so much for the Hawks SB aspirations this year. 😭 But proud of them regardless. The war of attrition got the better of us I’m afraid, but have lots to look forward to for next year. DK Metcalf was a steal this year, and Tyler Lockett has blossomed well.

hopefully a starter on the online, and a Corner. Edge rusher too.

now, I’m all in for my buddies team. Kansas City,!

Marshawn Lynch just needs to retire btw. He should not have come back.

I gotta agree with that, he just seemed out of football shape and largely ineffective. I’d have loved to see them run Homer a lot more against the Packers; I think he could’ve given them the spark to pull off the upset.

Nifty..... I can't/won't disagree with you. But.................. Brady would not have survived the 70's early 80's football era.... never!

The rules of today favor the QB. Back then, QB's were football players, just like all the rest on the team. They got hit; hard! The rule was to ring the QB's bell....... often! Brady would have a career of 3 years back then.

The guys I listed were/are tough football players. Big Ben being one of the toughest sum bitches I have ever seen on a football field.... and I'm definitely NOT a Steelers fan!

Again.... I take nothing away from the Pats or Brady's accomplishments, I just don't put Brady among the best QB's of all time.... well, at least not the GOAT.

I know the kind of football that you like, S&B, and I understand the way that you're thinking.  Remember, though, that Tom Brady is 6'4" and 225 lbs.  (Except for Big Ben, he's bigger than all of the guys you've mentioned.)  He's been flung to the ground by 300 lb. NFL pass rushers for twenty years.  Except for the season ending knee injury in 2008 and then the ridiculous "deflate gate" four game suspension, he's never missed a game.  Not one game.  Don't let his pretty face fool you.  He's no China doll.

Perhaps you fetishize old time football because you enjoyed it so much, but none of those old teams are remotely as big and physical as today's teams.

The rules then allowed a much rougher game, absolutely.  I don't disagree with that at all.  It would be foolish to argue that point.

But the players weren't a physical match for today's players. Evolution doesn't work that way.

Well here we go,

packers at 49ers. - titans at KC Chiefs

I hope and pray the Packers win, just cuz I really don’t like the whiners but they are soooo loaded it will take a miracle

id love to se the titans pull the upset but again, the Chiefs seem to be able to score at will...

final prediction, Packers vs KC for SB, with KC routing the pack for the win

I’d be very happy with those outcomes. I’m just hoping that the Packers can beat the Niners, because I really don’t want them to win. I like any of the other three teams, so from there it doesn’t matter too much to me.

NFL should have flexed the Seahawks in instead of the Packers... what a weak display...

but, now it’s all about the Chiefs!

They should let both teams wear their home uniform. Could be interesting.

Jason Garrett as OC of the NY football Giants is interesting. As a coordinator he’d likely have more success than as a HC...curious move to stay in the NFC East however.

Well 3 of 4 teams played well.

I didn’t follow the 49ers closely, but it’s been decades since I’ve seen such a run centric NFL offense, only 8 pass attempts!

SF vs KC. I’d have to go with Mahomes, just amazing. Should be an interesting SB, too bad we have to wait 2 weeks and wade through way too many SB specials...

Defense wins championships.  That is all.

The Giants over the Bills in Super Bowl 25

The Giants over the Patriots in Super Bowl 42.

Two of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history, and both won by teams with their defenses.

I'm actually shocked that the Chiefs are favored in this game, because San Francisco is just going to run all over them, and hold the ball for like 40 minutes or more, and Mahomes will spend most of the game on his rear end.  Doesn't matter how fast his receivers are if he never sees them all day long.

Frankly I don't even see this game as close.  Niners 31, Chiefs 10.

Happy Retirement Eli
Your 2 Super Bowl victory’s were at the expense of Pats/Brady.
Apparently going out on his terms and relatively uninjured.
Enjoy the family.
