@Fixurdivot, I sometimes think about moving back to AZ, but then summer hits and that thought goes away pretty quick. That said, I have a friend that is a member of Apache Wells and plays just about everyday. Guess if a person can get out at 5-6am and be done before 10am it wouldn't be too bad. Unless a person works outside then it wouldn't be possible as they start work when they should be golfing. 

 

I may be playing my last round of golf for the year this Saturday. Back surgery in June 26th and coming up 3 weeks from yesterday. I am looking forward to not hurting everyday.

Well, local zoning regulations took away the real estate deal of the year for me.  Due to fly out to Hawaii at the end of the month, going to have to rent the house until it sells.  Not ideal.

Good morning spies! Had a decent round with the Wild Bunch yesterday with a 38/42. Highlight of the day was on the par 3, 105 yards to the pin, 13th.  Hit a nice sand wedge that flew high, landed soft and spun 6 feet or so to the left, hit the stick, bounced, and came to rest 5 inches from the hole. Closest I have come to a hole in one in a while.

We ran two simultaneous games. 3 man team add up the gross and subtract total handicap strokes. We came in second on that one three strokes out. And, a 3 man team score two out of three on all holes. We came in 1 stroke out of 1st on that one. Because we played two separate games no second place was paid...and we were second to the one team who won (or hogged as the guy who runs the game) the lot. 

Oh well it was fun, and very hot. Going to get hotter today.

Good morning!  Another successful league night for the good guys.  My partner and I had to give a total of 21 strokes for the 9 hole league play, but we managed to pull out another victory.  My partner, who just moved up to the senior tees this season, shot 2 under and netted a 33.  The opposing player he was matched up, shot 50 and netted a 35.  I shot 40, with a net of 37 and my opponent shot 52 with a net of 42.  My round of 40 included a triple bogey on a Par 4.  This game that we love to play sometimes jumps up and bites us.

Good morning! Windy day on tap for southern Mi today. It's my oldest's last day of 1st grade today. Once she gets home, I'm going to take her golfing for 9 holes and just enjoy our time together outdoors. 

After that, I'm going to borrow my neighbor's trailer and pick up some stones for our landscaping  rehab.

Good Thursday morning all!

Not quite sure what to do today... We had no overnight rain, and none expected this fine day! Oh well, SWMBO just advised that she expects the yardwork to be completed before it gets to hot this afternoon... Her way of saying she still loves me... 

Most courses have opened but are all cart path only with a few advisories and cautions on a few holes for personal safety... Senior league was cancelled... Give it another day or two without rain and all will be back to normal.

Deepest condolences on the loss of your uncle @Rob Person. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Stay focused and maintain fairways and greens @Northern Monkey! Go low and get it all back!

Positive thoughts and wishes for a successful surgery @JFish350.

Hope all went well with you @Dead Solid Bogey and your med appt affirmed your continued return to the game.

Biopsy report for my FIL ended up showing signs that are suspicious of malignancy, but overall they are saying that it is inconclusive. Was recommended for him to get a second biopsy for more tissue. So I guess we have a partial answer? Realistically, I can't say I'm entirely surprised by the possibility of what this could be, but it's still hard on my wife. To make things worse her birth mother who has long been divorced from my wife's father has decided to make this whole situation into something about herself. I finally had to take my wife's phone and block her own mother because I'm not okay with someone speaking to my wife the way that she has. It's gotten to be a ridiculous thing within the whole family and entirely frustrating for me to see from my perspective because it's gotten to the point where my wife's birth mother is trying to guilt my wife about the situation, she has sent my wife's brother to complain about the fact that I blocked her from talking to my wife, etc. When you act like a selfish jerk during a situation like this, I have no qualms with removing the cause of the problem from my circle. I mean, I've never gotten along with her birth mother even from before we were married, but I had been civil at least. Can't say I'm extending the same grace anymore.

Had a great round yesterday at league and finally broke into my normal form. driver/irons/wedges were on point. only bad parts of the rounds were a double on a par five and my putting. I have no confidence over the ball on the green which is not a great feeling to have. hoping to put some practice time in with the putter and get through it. All things considered +2 38 felt good.

@Rob Person I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Good afternoon Spies! Back at the Casa after my Philly trip, found out I'm going back there in two weeks for another event in North Philly. At least I'm familiar with the airport now. Lots of work awaiting me back home (job work, not honey-dos). Another 350+ new lab reports including three critical results; I have to call the critical people. Tried all three this morning, nobody answered their phones. Will try again this evening in case they were at work and couldn't talk or something. I think I'm going to get another good night's sleep before I resume my Rypstick/Fit For Golf workouts.

They made me check my bag at the airport; when I retrieved it on the jetbridge, one of the wheels was gone. Which didn't surprise me. I had suspected it was loose and might fall off soon. But now I need new luggage before I get on the plane for Scotland four weeks from today, not to mention Philly and all my other job trips. It was pretty damn cheap anyway.

Watched the D-Day ceremony from Normandy this morning, and thought of the great uncle I never met who is buried over there. And also thought of the people who minimize the heroism and sacrifices of those who served and those who died. Which frankly pisses me off.

big HIIT workout this morning had me huffing and puffing. But it was good. Now gotta do a cold plunge in the bathtub to get all the leg muscles clear to go for tomorrow’s round of golf. on a lighter note, I was invited to a member-guest on Friday and spent last night doing a little bit of practice. I never play well if I practice the day before so I'm trying this method. Will be fun to get out on a nice private course. Working on finishing my swing and the ball was flying nicely but I have to be careful not to overdo it else I begin hooking things.

It's finally Friday and I'm ready to head into the weekend. It's going to be filled with yard work since I didn't mow before the outing and the yard looks like a jungle. 

I'm hoping to make it to the range at some point to work on my chipping and pitching since it hurt me pretty bad and work on some things that @cnosilrecommended.

Yesterday, I spent a couple hours at the golf sim, whose results which will likely end up on a couple threads here. 

Took a walk in the evening on one of the usual walking paths.

This one’s kinda special—it links our village to the next one. It’s a path that dates back to the Bronze Age, and it’s been in use ever since.

Good morning all and happy Friday. I’m now back home after the long drive from the north east of England. Yesterday was a much better day weather wise with it staying dry although still very windy. The championship course was fantastic with some great holes including this par 3 with a 170 yard carry to clear the water

I played ok but had a bit of blip around the turn with no points on 9, 11 and 12 but managed to get back in the groove and played the rest not too badly. I was happy with my score considering the course and finished 5th in the end. In the team competition we came 2nd so overall not a bad outing. It was a great experience on 2 wonderful courses at a lovely venue with awesome company  

This is a photo of the International Police Association mascot. It was created by the Romanian branch, who apparently are quite proud of their links to the Dracula legend, hence the fangs

Yesterday was a nice day with not too much going on which was nice. Got to have our favorite dinner though, pumpkin red curry, just so good.

Finally, go some rain so the air feels much better today now just some chances of rain the next couple days.

Going to get out for a round tomorrow morning which I am looking forward to.

Great morning to be from Boston.  I was pleasantly surprised by the Celtics play last night.  I had this anxious feeling they would come out flat and porzingis would be a non factor.  I’m glad I was wrong..

Good morning and happy Friday spies. I feel like this week has been insanely busy so I’m extremely grateful for the weekend. I was able to get two range sessions in this week while working on a swing change with irons. Definitely seeing some progress with more consistent contact and consequently ball flights. Hopefully I can get one more session in today after I mow the lawn and then see how it transfers to my game this weekend.

Good morning MGSpies from overcast and damp WNY on this first Friday of June, enjoyed the community call yesterday on the drive north watching storm clouds disintegrate the closer I got to destination with water on the parking lot of NFCC but nothing additional more than a few passing drops of rain added to on what became a gorgeous evening of sunshine to end the PGA HOPE sessions for that location, next one there to begin in August.  Today being first Friday is the trek to the Western NY National Cemetery for ghost coin thanks for service to the nation for those passed on ahead of us. 

Still feeling the 6 consecutive days of golf last week but got a few good shots off yesterday in the on-course holes played with Veterans in the HOPE Program as a participating graduate mentor landing a 135 tee shot 15 feet from elevated tee to elevated green for the group I was playing with observed by the HQ folks sitting up by the green, that was epic and thanks Chris @cnosil for the grip tip as that tip has elevated my game
