What Brands/Products Do You Want To See for Member Testing 2024?

There seems to be a trend on video instruction. I would like to see reviews of the various “Top” teaching pros online like Eric Corgano, Danny Maude, etc. - Rate the experience and ease of use, submission of swing video and feedback, how helpful was it?, Did it really help the game?, lastly, was it worth the asking price?

Would be worth comparing that to in-person instruction too. I think instruction is definitely overlooked, as is fitting. 

One other interesting area are discount programs (this is probably more of an article than test). GolfNow and other online sources for discounted rates. Would be interesting to see how much a person “could” save with these programs throughout the year and what sources exist for the every day golfer.

Annnnnnddddd…… all the hardware you can muster. Clubs, bags, balls…. I love reading about all of it. Just take my money….

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread, but I'm going to piggyback off this and say I would like to see the Wilson AI fitting for some of our members.

Not much that hasn't already been said, and you all have done a fantastic job of lining up so many opportunities for members over the past year.

I still think an "experience" would be a fun review. Golf course, fitting, etc. Could be something with a national chain (Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstore, Club Champion, GolfTec) or something on the smaller end. I'd make the day trip to Sycamore to visit Sub70 for sure. 

I know this isn't exactly "bread and butter" of MGS Forums, but having spent some time on one of the the "other" golf forums out there I always wondered what OEM would be the first to offer that kind of experience to MGS members.

This last year we saw a lot of driver testing but not sure I saw the TaylorMade Stealth 2 make the list. The Qi10 driver looks super interesting and a driver I would kill to test after seeing Morikawa's in the bag for the Sentry Tournament of Champions this week!

WILSONNNNNN!  The new AI fitting would be a great test; especially with the new irons coming out.

I would be really interested to see a test of how lessons, or new clubs can affect scores.
 

Example get a number of golfers all at the same handicap in the same area and see if there is any improvement with someone getting lessons vs brand new clubs vs someone just doing what they would normally do. (Which I assume is watch way too  much YouTube). I am one of those people. 
 

I understand this test is very hard to do logistically but with so many great ideas posted already I wanted to come up with something different.

I should also throw this out as a reminder to all. 

While some members will get more than one test per season, the expectation for members is that you will get one opportunity for the 2024 season. Please only sign up for the tests that you are interested in. If you get picked for a product that you aren't excited for and accept, thats on you and that could very well be your test for the season!

I'm most interested in seeing how the AD-VF stacks up against the Ventus line as well as comparable shafts like the Tensei 1K and Diamana's that Tiger and JT have used for years.

I have the VF currently and owned every Ventus at one time or another. It’s still early but the 4-S VF has actually kept my spin down while allowing me to go shorter length(-1”) and swing just as fast. Loving it so far.

Maybe something a lot cheaper or free - would love to see others opinions on them 
I keep up with all my data in spreadsheets and that is just getting old

I would love to see the Apex pro irons from Callaway reviewed. Hogan irons/full bag?  I gamed Hogan Medallion irons for years.  I am curious to see how the DTC version(s) will play out.  I would also like to see some on course metrics tool similar to but not current Arccos or Shot scope (maybe a new or emerging company).

It’s intriguing to me to see players on Tour who are so loyal to particular brands make an abrupt switch. Especially with so much at stake. 
 

From what I’ve read so far, it’s popular but I know little beyond the window dressing. This is a really interesting take and makes me peek up. 
 

How’s the feel (as best you can describe) compared to the Ventus blue?  For me, the Tensei 1K white is the perfect compromise of a Ventus with better feel.

Yeah those are really the only three that I know of as well - I am just looking for something more in the data management - I have toyed with Grint, which I like ok, but just have not done enough testing with them - It is hard to get me away from my spreadsheets

The OG Velocore blue that I currently have is a 5-R for reference. To me so far the feel of the VF has been what I expected to get from the Ventus Blue.  Spin has actually been consistently lower with the VF as well. The VF waggles a little softer than the Blue but never AutoFlex soft even at the 40 gram version.   My favorite part is that the kick just seems to be in the right spot even when I really go after one.

I’ll be honest. The only time I read forum reviews is when I’m in the market for something. And right now, I’m thinking about an alternative lightweight carry bag. I wouldn’t mind seeing Sunday Golf bags tested here. I know that they been reviewed on the regular site, but I appreciate the anecdotal part of testing as much as the other aspects.

I know there’s one unofficial review here as well, just wouldn’t mind more points of view.

I would love to see more irons. I am interested in the new companies like New Level and Takomo. I have talked to both of those companies and follow them on facebook. I want to get out of the 'big brand' game and try some of the smaller guys. That pushes innovation.

I agree with newer companies too.   Would love to test out Takomo's new Driver or Hybrids set. Have not heard of new level before.  Off to Google I go!
