Mine accumulated over time but work supplied a 24" that's perfect for working at home in combination with my 20" and laptop screens. Red Rooster box on the work laptop and screens center and left are 3 screens for my finance office job.

Still just 2 screens with my personal laptop on the right of the Red Rooster box. Kinda obvious with the Forum page showing.

I recognize the site on the top row middle screen. I would make a joke about them but they have been good to me.

A tale of playing with a favorite threesome and a tag-along fourth.

We arrived at our 5:30 tee time early and watched the 5:20 foursome play out the par-4 1st when we were joined by a very kind and equally vivacious man who quite resembled us in many ways.  Apart from just meeting there was good chemistry and the round started out well through the next 4 holes.

At  the 4th green this fourth, I will call him Bob, reached into my golf bag and pulled out one of my clubs talking about how unusual the design was, First Strike hybrid irons.  Said something about how he has a 6 iron of similar design blah blah blah.  I was not upset because I was right there but thought he was taking liberties reaching into my bag as he was without asking first.

The 6th is par-3 with a guarding sand trap short of the green.  I pulled out the 6 I usually use and hit it clean only to have the ball splash in the sand (low level sun does that kind of display) and I was disappointed my usual club for that hole had failed me this time.  As I put it back into the bag I discovered I had hit with the 9 and the 6 was where the 9 should have been.  When Bob had pulled out the club he had put it back in the wrong place because I was using the 9 to chip onto the 4th green and without thinking put the 9 in the empty 6 slot.

The resentment descended like a curtain on stage in the theater and all the way up the 7th fairway he was walking nearby  as the other two were going up the left rough to the green while I was hitting middle of fairway to right rough.  I filled in my regular partner about the parting of the ways and he said "oh boy" when I pointed out that my friends would never touch each others clubs but this newcomer took liberties to help himself and then didn't take care to undo what he had done without leaving a trace.

What do you think?  Was this an over-reaction on my part and should be accepted as something people do or was it a predictable reaction based on an inappropriate act by someone who should not have reached into someone's golf bag to handle a club belonging to someone else without asking if he could?

You should always ask before you touch anything that belongs to someone else.  Even my 5 year granddaughter knows that!

You wouldn't drive my car without asking - right?

Verdict: Not an over-reaction.

At a minimum, he should have brought up the similarity in conversation and asked permission to examine it further. Granted, it does not seem there was any Ill intent on his part, but the consequences of his actions were obviously felt by someone other than himself. I would say your anger is/was justified.

Common courtesies are falling by the wayside, even on the golf course.  I can’t imagine any of my playing partners ever doing that, nor any of those that I’ve randomly been paired with, but I live and play at a private club.  I have seen guests play here that have done some questionable and disrespectful things.  I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not going to tolerate many things and I probably would have said something sarcastic to him.

I'm in agreement with all the others that have replied your aggravation was justified, Derek. I am not at all opposed to someone wanting to see one of my clubs and letting them if they ask. I believe part of the beauty of this game is sharing information on equipment with other players. I have often commented on other's equipment and admired it without reaching into their bags and would never did so without permission. My mom raised me better than that.

Agreed with the other's here, it is common courtesy to ask, and although that does seem to be disappearing in today's world by those who feel entitled, he was old enough to know better.

I would have been upset, maybe even pi$$ed.

That’s definitely not okay on their part and not an over-reaction by you. None of my friends would pull a club out of my bag without asking, not sure why a stranger would think that it’s acceptable.

Did you know that Srixon balls have forward spin... and not just on putts? 🤔  If the advertisement I just saw is accurate, the slow motion action of Brooks Koepka's drive was rotating forward, away from the Brooks. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm grabbing a few Srixon Z-Star's from my bucket-o-balls stash for tomorrows round.

Deception in advertising is perfectly acceptable here in the US but I suspect that ad does not get airplay in Japan 😊.

One of my bucket list items is to play golf in all 50 states. While I'd like it to be some iconic course in each state, it just isn't practical at this point in the journey. I have a measly six states crossed off my list (GA, FL, SC, NC, AL, and TN) but hope to keep adding as time and money allows. My sister gave me one of my nephew's worksheets from school yesterday and one of the questions on it was along the lines of what is a goal you would like to accomplish one day. He just finished 3rd grade and is absolutely my best friend, we're pretty inseparable. His answer was that he wanted to play golf in all 50 states with his uncle. Talk about allergies acting up and making my eyes water. So I'm happy to say the journey is restarting with him, with GA, TN, and NC already covered and Alabama coming up this weekend! Can't wait!

It is a fun journey.  I have 48 states covered and just need Alaska and Hawaii and I have all the states covered.  Been fortunate to do about half of the states with my son as well as a few foreign countries.

Just boasting rights.

BTW, The PGA Tour players don’t carry their drivers; the caddies do, and it’s about 6 miles.  🤣

I think context matters. If someone says they are capable of carrying a driver 280y so they are waiting for the group ahead of them to reach the green, that is one thing. Having an average of 280y is completely different.

If this is fact, why the hell is the USGA and R&A wasting so much time and considering adding so much needless churn to the sport?  It must be the second part of the "distance issue", that being the insane amount of rollout we see at so many events. Just raise the mower decks... problem solved.
