Greetings all, just getting used to my new work arrangements which include home almost every evening, but further away from Golf Spy Rob and GSStud...and no access to MGS during the workday. However getting a few moments each evening to check in and catch up. Looking forward to some wedge testing and some DMV outings this summer,

Forecast is iffy for Saturday.  But who cares.

I'm thinking of treating myself to a Birthday round somewhere that I haven't played in a while.    Among the thoughts for courses are:

Queenstown

Renditions

Waverly Woods

Worthington Manor

Maryland National

Anyone else interested/available...I'm open to other suggestions as well if that works out better for anyone.

I'll answer for him, since he's off grid during the days.   He's still living in the same place, and now working out of HQ instead of staying up here 3 to 4 nights a week like he did all last year.

Queenstown is a haul if you are trying to get back for dinner not knowing what Bay bridge traffic would be like. I'd say Worthington Manor. It's been ages since you've played that! Wish I could join you but we do a pub crawl for Preakness in Annapolis and I'm flying in late the night before.

I think a 9:00 time at QT would have us finished at 2:00'ish.  And home by 3:00 or 3:30 at the latest, plenty of time for a 6:30 or 7:00 dinner.   *I may be a year older, but not ready for the Blue Plate special yet  :D

But any on that list would be fun to play.

Hi all, I'm located in Southern Maryland. I have been golfing for way to long to still be this bad lol. My Dad started me around 11 but I didn't really fall for the game until 23. I have 5 children 4 boys and 1 girl. Yes my house is loud and quite entertaining. Oldest is 14 and the youngest is 2. I have been lucky enough to golf all over the world thanks to the military. I look forward to hitting the links with y'all.

Hello from college park, MD. GO Terps! Though i spend a ton of weekends in the VA beach area ( in -laws ). I'm Fritz, only been playing 5 years now, and decided to stop the club ho-ING this year, and work on my game. I'm always up for a round preferably during the week. Would love to meet some more folks in the area that play!

Welcome to the forum and the local group as well Fritz.   Glad to have you.

If you can ever make it up to Compass Pointe during the week, let me know and I'd be happy to take you out for a round, I to have vowed to slow down the club ho'ing this summer (I know that just got a big belly laugh from the gallery here..ha) especially with a big fitting on the horizon.

Hope to meet you son, we have a pretty active group here as you may have read.

Welcome to the forum, I can easily say that you will play with a group of good guys. Everybody is easy going and it doesn't matter if you're scratch or a 36-handicap.

I totally agree with you.   Personally, I can also add that the guys are kind to "old coots" as well.    So if there are any seasoned golfers contemplating joining the DMV group, most assuredly, do so.   The "young bucks"  of the DMV are great people.

So I know you guys in the DMV have been saturated with a ton of rain but did anyone get out yesterday?

I played for the first time in a month playing Angel Park Palm course, driving was good, fairway wood and hybrids were hit and miss. Greens were so bumpy that putting couldn't be much. Kids last day of school is Thursday so more golf to be played.

Not yesterday. I got out today mostly just for on course practice. Skipped around a bit on one of our courses that was closed for an outing and I hit it after they were finished.

More rain tomorrow it appears 🤬
