Now that this outing is right around the corner I am sensing the fear in everyone. First the excuses started piling up about their golf games not being up to par! Now I am seeing the drinking comments. Ohhh I'm usually the designated driver. I only have one or two beers. I don't normally drink at all. 

Are you a bunch of golfers or a bunch of pansies? No wonder I always wind up in a pond.  I'll have you know I already left for this outing I should get there in time. It takes a while on my bike. I tried to pack my favorite beverage but I couldn't figure out how to get it there. So I plan on mooching. But don't worry. With my body size I won't  take to much away from you. You never have to worry about me either, I can't fall down. I just might roll a little crooked, thats all !

I was going off the feels like temp off of wunderground.com at Queenstown. It's dropped a bit with feels like temps down to 90* @ 9AM, 96* at noon and 98* at 2PM.  So a bit cooler

  But no, you all go and have the time of your lives. Don't think twice about poor old Samsonite, sitting alone in his shack, swatting bugs because there's no AC and no windows (WHO CAN AFFORD WINDOWS?!?), trying to get online (via 28.8 dial-up) to see if any of you swells has posted a picture (which will take 45 minutes to download) or an update. 

  But really, don't worry about me. 

  I'm doing great.

 

  Also, that Jim Beam looks delightful.

Feel like this expectation puts a lot of pressure on my outfit choices.  Might have to go full Poulter if I want to stand out in this photo-journal.  

Parking lot pro here…I look like I might have game when I arrive, but then I hit a few shots and put that suspicion to rest.

One of the first times I had a caddie for a round. I was still playing my Titliest Tour Models.   When he met me on the range and started going through my bag. He commented on them and mentioned this was going to be a fun round.   I quickly reset his expectations by saying.  Watch a few shots and you may have time to go to the caddie master and request a change.  He laughed and said we’d have a good time.

Fortunately I played decently they day and he said I did the  clubs proud    He really really loved them.  Told me I better never sell them without checking with him first.

The cool part.  I was back at WS a year later and going to play the next day.  But had gone out to just sit on the benches overloookikg 18 to have a beer.  No clubs nothing near me.

Chris happened to be walking by on his way to 10 with his group.  I didn’t even notice him and out of nowhere I heard  “Still have those Titleist I hope”   I liked and was shocked.  I told him I sure did and was playing tomorrow.  He asked what time and I told him.  He said he was going to tell his boss to put him on my bag.    They felt really cool.

The next day didn’t go as great as the first time.  But he still loved handing me those irons. I can tell you they were never so clean as they were after each of his rounds. 
 

sadly when I went back next year he had moved out to Bandon

I think it was definitely the irons.  I didn’t  play horribly bad or extremely great for him to remember me.  Well I did tip especially well.  So there may be that

Bandon would be incredible.  I’m sure the PNW Crew would love that.  Of course one of them would have to take the lead in planning

So I took a little a scouting trip to Queenstown this morning.  The guys are in for a treat.   The River course opened from its Bermuda Fairway conversion and looked great.   Here’s a couple pics of some of the holes and fairways.

So, just to check at where we are right now, a few days out.

1: If you're on the fitting list make sure you go through the link Rob sent you to schedule and confirm the fittings.

2: Beds, after much consideration are likely to be first come, first served. Sorry for our late arrivals but at the end of the day it's just going to be a place to crash during our downtime.

3: Food options. The clubhouse does a breakfast menu, also lunch really, but typical clubhouse style food. I believe we've got pulled meat for Saturday lunch and a potential taco bar for dinner that evening, if we could hammer out those for certainties as soon as possible, that would be much obliged. I'm also down for a Food Lion run once more people get there to pick up stuff either people forgot or want for snack things if you're not bringing your own.

4: Liquids, a lot of alcohol on tap, but bring whatever you want to drink and again, if need be drinks can be picked up as part of the Food Lion run

5: A note from the contract, no smoking in the cottage or else we're getting hit with a massive fee. Also, I know and believe we were joking, but also no firearms or fireworks on the premises. 

6: Gambling. So Jose and I are discussing like a blind 2 ball with handicap contest or something along the lines, so if anyone wants to potentially opt out of something, let us know. No pressure if you do or don't and the stakes aren't massive... just a bit of fun if we can.

7: We're in the week where this is happening boys... get hyped. Especially when we announce some stuff later this week hopefully.

I do see everyone has signed up for their fittings times!  Awesome...appreciate you guys jumping right on that.

As I mentioned to the guys in a PM (that are staying) the Food Lion and Safeway, are probably best bets if you can manage to stop in on your way in Friday afternoon.  Route 50 is not something you want to mess with on Saturday at all.   For example, today on a Monday at 11:30 AM, I got hung up in a 30 minute back up going back across the bridge due to an accident.   It comes out of nowhere on tht stretch of road and bridge. 

And I'll echo what he said about the money games, we talke anything will be low stakes, but we fully understand some people don't make any part of their golf at all, so feel free to opt in or out.   No worries either way, no one is going to get rich off anything..ha

unfortunately, at the 6th level of hell heat index the outdoor feature will not be of much use except they are very decorative.

Well I’m going to have to empty my truck out if no guns are allowed I was looking forward to yellow ball shooting . I will be bringing cigars but will definitely not be smoking them inside at any time.

Too bad about the no firearms.  You can tell the number 2 tee is perfect for teeingup a @Yellow Ball hitting it out into the River and using it for a trap shooting target.  Be blown to pieces or drown in the middle of the River.   Sad fate either way for the little fellow
