Good morning all on a high 50s Wisconsin morning. Tee time is set at 10:40am and I am already ready to leave the office . Welcome to a new addition to the forum in @barney_bogey! Glad to have you here with us and you'll find that the community here on the MGS Forum is hard to beat. Easily my favorite place on the internet. 

Youngest picked up his first cold of the school year, and keep in mind he only does half days twice a week for Pre-K, so it didn't take long! He's a tough one though and it hasn't slowed him down one bit. Oldest has a birthday party to go to tomorrow at the bowling alley from 2-4pm, so I will be taking him (and hopefully his brother if he's feeling better) to that so SWMBO can have a little break and some time to relax. 

Also have to make a run to Madison to do some clothes shopping for our oldest as all of a sudden NONE of his pants fit anymore  and we will swing into Costco while down there. Maybe will sneak 9 in over the weekend, but not overly likely, which is all good.

hard to believe it is almost noon and I am just getting now reading the posts.   Been a busy morning.  My MRI from last night was postponed until this morning since the machine broke.  So I spend 30 minutes in a loud confined space this morning.  Guess they didn’t like what they saw since the doctor called me an hour after the test was complete.  Apparently, going to refer me to another specialist and setup a different MRI.  Maybe we are getting closer to figuring things out….I hope.    Then catching up on work things.  
 

looking forward to the weekend and playing some golf.   I feel like I am going to score well

Top of the pot spies .  No golf today.  We're driving around the community looking at various approved house color schemes (28 options for our house) as we're going to have the house painted.  There is truth to the tenet that having lots of options can be both good and bad .  Hope everyone has a good end of the work week day and great weekend.

And there are people that will say that 28 options isn’t enough and that HOAs are too restricting.  Why can’t I paint my front door PINK!!!!!!

Man...we are building a new house and my wife just found out we can paint the front door in any color Sherwin Williams offers.  I may actually end up with a pink door...

Having lived in a couple of HOA's whose covenants and by-laws weren't worth the paper they were printed on, I'll take our pretty strict Del Webb community every time.  Yes, it can be a pain at times but on the otherhand, I don't have to worry about by OCD kicking into overdrive when someone chooses to ignore the rules.  

This coming from someone who hated the idea of HOA's and restrictions... until experiencing first hand some of my fellow man's inate ability to crap things up.

Having grown up in small towns where there were no such things as HOA's and someone wanting to build a different look or paint their homes shall we say with "unique" colors were simply homes you thought were tacky, ugly, funny, interesting etc. Fast forward in life to HOA's that think subdivisions should look like military barracks and almost all of them go too far. I am not a big fan of conformity simply out of fear they wont fit in and I do understand in many suburban areas no HOA can invite some undesirable completely weed strewn, beater on cinderblock eye sores, but for me that is what makes freedom what it is supposed to be. You have to take the good with the bad. I also understand I am probably in the minority.

... As an amusing aside, I never dealt with an HOA before moving to Phoenix were evidently it is a way of life. When processing my mortgage they wanted to know what my HOA payments were in Chicago since I would be keeping that home. I told them I didn't have an HOA and I had no payments and they didn't know how to process that and said they would get back to me. The next day they said "Ok, I talked to my boss and she said we will just need a notarized statement from your Chicago HOA that you don't owe them any payments".

Good day Spies! Busy weekend as my wife's brother is getting married tomorrow. My wife and I are both in the wedding party and our girls are flower girls, so lots of moving pieces! Hope it's a great Friday and weekend for everyone.

I agree with this, some of the stories are crazy. Living a bit in the woods the variety in homes is always a bit fun.

Hey everyone!

Got a late start today and then got busy with stuff around the house, so just catching up .. so Happy Friday!!

Did a little range time yesterday working mostly on wedges, and have a round scheduled for tomorrow with the daughter of long time friends and her new fiancé (gotta admit the kid did it right - asked her father's permission in secret first and then took her on a trip to Italy where he surprised her with a *huge* diamond in a custom setting!).

Good Friday afternoon Spies! Yesterday was my first day of being a substitute teacher for our local school district.  I thought there would be a sense of fulfillment being a substitute teacher by doing something good for kids.  Our school district has a desperate need for substitutes and now I know why.  I covered 6 classes of 6th grade math and felt like I had been run over by a bunch of ill mannered 11 year old demons.  In each class, there were a handful of kids that were disruptive and influencers of other kids.  My next teaching assignment will be at the high school, so I am hoping for a better experience.

Admit it, those of you who remember The Muppet Show (one of the greatest shows ever) were picturing Kermit doing his "thing."

The work portion of my regularly scheduled Friday will be very short today - 3 hours. Why? Because I have a noon appointment at the Titleist demo day here in the Glade. Someone cancelled and they reached out asking if I wanted the spot. So I figured, what the hell.

Going to see what their long game options can do to help get me more yards while still keeping the ball in play. If there's time, I may swing a T150, T200, and T350 just to get the initial feels before seriously looking at them in the Spring.

After the fitting, I'll be grabbing a bucket or two and working on my irons and the stuff my coach has me doing. Then some putting work while I'm there. So I'm packing a sandwich and snack along with my water bottle and figure I'll be there most of the afternoon. Not a bad way to spend Friday afternoon if you ask me.

Good Saturday morning my spies… Saturday is the Homecoming Queen of the week…. Get out there and enjoy.

   I am playing in a really fun format today. This will be purely social golf with 6 players to a group. Will probably take around 6 hours to play the round. There will be plenty of food and liquor based libations before, during, and after the golf. 
  
   Make this Saturday yours…Go ahead and  get out of pocket and twist off, either with or without golf being involved. Just be sure you have one semi-sane minder in your group.

Do have some golf in the plans for later (yeah) but a poor night of sleep with some body parts complaining have put a damper on my enthusiasm (boo).

But it's golf and hey it's better than a kick in the pants

Good morning Spies on a cool, clear, and crisp Michigan morning. No golf plans for me this weekend, other than transporting clubs with me while I am traveling for the next couple days. Heading to southwest Missouri to meet some friends from Kansas, Nebraska, and Washington state.

We do an annual group staycation, where a lot of fun activities, including golf is involved, and those are my plans for the next 10 days. Will be able to check-in here from time to time during this travel time, and hope to get some Virtual Tour scores from courses in other states.

Hope that whatever is in your weekend plans, it is a least something fun and enjoyable, and if golf is in your plans, keep it in the short grass.

Filed under crazy  retired folks do. I did something yesterday that I haven’t done since I was in the Army. I ran 2.5 miles and I wasn’t being chased.

On the agenda today, yard work. SWMBO is volunteering at an SPCA awareness event today. So I’m left to my own devices.

Hoping to get some range time in later today - feel like it’s been awhile since I’ve swung a club and I need to get ready for my guys golf trip end of next month in NC.

Good morning all and happy Saturday! Taking the boys to a birthday party at the bowling alley at 2pm today for one of my oldest son’s classmates. One of his siblings is in our youngest son’s Pre-K class, so he should have fun too. Other than that not too much planned today which doesn’t hurt my feelings!

There's not much on the agenda for the early morning here, but the wife and I will be getting out later to run around and spend time together.

It's going to be a cooler day here with highs in the mid 70's and there is a possibility of rain later.

Top of the pot spies .  Nice cool 72F morning here in AZ.  0730 tee time with my Saturday group; 4 foursomes playing 9/9, 3 net on par 3's and 2 net on par 4 and 5's.  Only two more weeks before our Granite Falls North course re-opens after having been closed for renovations this past May.  It's looking gorgeous and everyone is eager to play it.  Have a great Saturday everyone!

This photo brings back some memories of my youth. I grew up in Bay Area just south of San Francisco. Many a foggy Saturday morning was spent on the soccer pitch where the opposite goal couldn't be seen.
