Morning all on a beautiful sunny start to the day. Hoping the weather stays like this as yesterdays weather was worse then Mondays Strong winds, rain and even hail at times which made it very challenging. It got better as the round went on but I was in one of the first groups out so got the worst of it. My game suffered as a result and I’ve dropped to 4th after day 2. However today is a new day, new course, we are playing the course that’s hosted several European and Seniors tour events today, so hoping to have a good one.

On a final note today is 80th anniversary of D Day and just wanted to give thanks to all those that fought for our freedom and remember those that didn’t make it back

It's 0200 here, and I probably won't sleep for awhile.  Just got a call that my Uncle (last elder relative) has passed on, after battling against 3 types of C for the past 2 years. He was my dad's best friend through Vietnam, and they were responsible for my passion of motorcycles and wrenching being instilled at a very young age.  He was in remission  last November when I visited him, and it would also be the last time we saw each other in person. It was a great visit. We've video called here and there, the last being 3 or 4 weeks ago. He was optimistic about the current treatment plans. He was a fighter until the end.

 

Hug your loved ones, call the ones you have not in awhile, make peace where you can. You never know when that chance will dissappear.

@Rob Person I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Cancer sucks and it always seems to take the great ones way too soon. You'll be in my prayers. 

It's a nice morning here and I'm still in recovery mode after four days of golf. I have fallen asleep the last two days on the couch but it was so worth it. 

@Northern Monkey good luck today! It looks like you're playing a spectacular course and no matter what, I hope you enjoy the round. 

It's community call day and I'm looking forward to getting on the call and hearing from those of you who make it.

@Northern Monkey thanks for the pictures, and best wishes for your round today. Most important thing is to enjoy these moments.

@Woodrow72 glad to see that you were able to get out and about without issues and hoping that you enjoy the round today.

Weather here today will not be good for any golf related activities, and then Friday and Saturday I am volunteering to work at Selfridge Air Base to support their Military Appreciation weekend festivities for the people and their families stationed there. We typically have done this for the past 4 years as part of our way of giving back to those who serve.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning everyone! Yesterday embarked upon my new routine for the summer... golf every day. I didn't play very well, however, I was so happy to be on the course. I have a friendly match today on the course against my best friend, so I'm committed to playing well today. The weather looks beautiful and the vibes are high!

Good Morning all on this 80th anniversary of D-Day (aka the turning point in the war in Europe) while Tuesday was the anniversary of The Battle of Midway (called the turning point in the war in the Pacific). Eighty years .. wow..... (and it was 40 years ago that then President Reagan gave his famous speech at Pont du Hoc I believe it's called)

Anyway back to golf... Had a really good range and putting practice session yesterday; plan to play 9 tomorrow afternoon. 

@Northern Monkey hope your tourney goes (or went by this time) well for you!

Good humid morning MGS Nation! Well, last night was a complete (literally) wash out. We didn't have league play for the second week in a row, threat of severe thunderstorms. Last week, I went to the course anyway and was able to work the Spider and the Mamba on the practice greens. Not last night! Four tornado warnings which is a rarity for us, and the skies opened up for about 45 minutes. My garden got completely flooded, I now have a small trench from drainage water running off on the side of my house.... those were some serious storms! Thank goodness, no reported tornadoes but a lot of wind damage and fallen trees. The arborist is going to be very happy today with all the work he has! It has been a week of practice when you can dodging rain and storms.... 
Go get 'em @Northern Monkey! You got this! 
Sorry for your loss @Rob Person... our family's sympathies and best wishes for nothing but fond memories for you and your family. 

Hoping to get some course time in Saturday and Sunday, have the fitting for the Mamba and the Spider tomorrow, very anxious to see the numbers for both!

Good morning spy’s!!

So… this happy young man stopped by yesterday with good news and bad!! The good news is he delivered 1 of 4 packages, the bad news is he delivered 1 of 4 packages!! He guaranteed the other 3 would be delivered either Thursday or Friday.. yaaa hoo!! Looking forward to introducing the 3 and 7 wood to the rest of my Takomo family, (dreading having to tell my 5 iron he may be put in the “bin” to make room for the 7 wood turned to a 9 wood… I will cross that bridge when I come to it!! 
 

Off to the course this morning, looking forward to playing with a new mind set. “Don’t over swing you idiot “ whoops did I say that out loud lol..

Posted my unboxing pictures for the Vokey SM10 testing. They look great! Love the nickel finish. Give it a look if you are interested. Link in my sig.The other testers should hopefully be getting their clubs soon. I did get them to the range yesterday and so far I am digging what I am seeing. Getting video over several range sessions that I will be sharing in the future. Might try to get out for 9 holes on Sunday.

Doing the work thing today, then attending our local AAA MLB affiliate game later. Always a great time for baseball!

This goes back a couple years with the spousal unit and I at LBI NJ. She’s doing great and has an oncologist appointment today. I thank you all again for the well wishes. Docs yesterday were super impressed by her recovery so far down in Denver yesterday! I may get out today, we’ll have to see. Hope you all have a great Thursday! Happy birdie hunting!!!

More rain this morning. Ugh, it's really annoying the crap out of me. Not sure if we'll golf this Sunday, but I hope it holds off. Even if that means CPO, I'll still play. Looks like dad should get his Friday league in this week, at least.

Nothing much to report this morning. Just trying to get my mind and body to refocus on work still. That might take a while.

Good Morning Y'all- Commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. A long time ago (in a galaxy.........) I had the opportunity to talk to a gentleman wearing a WWII vet hat. I asked what he did and he told me he was a combat medic- he arrived at Normandy on June 7th 1944. I STILL get teary eyes and goosebumps thinking about it. I can't even come close to imagining the complete carnage he saw. He is DEFINITELY a hero in my eyes. He informed me that after they got that straightened up- they joined up w Pattons' group and took a stroll across Europe. That's incredible. Please say a little prayer for all our servicemembers, past and present.

On a lighter note, I was hoping to hit some last night but that didn't work out, looks like its gonna rain today- maybe it'll clear up by the time I get off work. Nothing but Fairways and green for y'all that get to play today

Top of the pot spies .  Well, it looks like our days of opening up the windows in the early morning to take advantage of the cooling are behind us for awhile.  Still pleasant 79F having coffee on the patio but summer is here in AZ.  No golf today.  Shot 38/38 in men's league individual low net for 72... and that only got me a T6 and $5.00 .  It's a grind in flight #1 .

Good morning everyone. Cloudy and cool start to the day so hitting the coffee shop again for breakfast. 50° and light wind but clouds should break in a couple hours before I tee off. The. We shall see what the coastal winds will bring. Coming out of the North again so it should help the closing stretch of 16-18. 
My condolences @Rob Person. Death is never easy no matter what age is a person is.

Another beautiful day in Chicago as temps remain in the 70s with sun shining. Was able to get to the range last night for a long session while my wife went to the movies with a friend. Decided to hit two large buckets and by the end of it, I'm not sure if I felt better or worse about my swing  either way good to get some practice in!

Community Call day and I'm looking forward to joining since I've been relatively absent from them lately due to travel and work keeping me busy. Definitely going to watch as much of the Memorial today as possible while trying to get some work done. Hoping for a good tournament with a pretty stacked field.

@Rob Person very sorry to hear about your loss. One of my favorite quotes I've heard recently is "What is grief, if not love persevering?" I hope you find some peace during this difficult time.

Good morning MGSpies on this wet humid morning in WNY - like Jason @sirchunksalot I'm still coming down from the energy and buzz of the meet-up at Kingsmill while doing my best to re-engage in the network workload that keeps the paychecks coming  Yesterday had my graduate mentor role come to the forefront with a Veteran who was experiencing stress at the PGA HOPE session, stayed close and helped him stay engaged while letting him vent to minimize his stress and the effect it was having on the event.  Remembering today is the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion "Operation Overlord" aka D-Day it is easy to keep the focus on being present for those still with us to provide support for those who need it, Veteran or otherwise, we all have our challenges to our calm, thoughts also with @Rob Person for life changes that are in fact a reaching a peaceful place for those who have moved on ahead of us.

Today is more PGA HOPE with a last session celebration of graduation that includes on-course etiquette and playing a few holes with mentors, shared meal and awards for the accomplishment.  Also it is Community Call Thursday so hope to see many online on my drive up to Niagara county this afternoon!  Hope golf is part of your day

@Rob Person, Sorry about your uncle. Condolences to you and your family. 

@Fixurdivot, I sometimes think about moving back to AZ, but then summer hits and that thought goes away pretty quick. That said, I have a friend that is a member of Apache Wells and plays just about everyday. Guess if a person can get out at 5-6am and be done before 10am it wouldn't be too bad. Unless a person works outside then it wouldn't be possible as they start work when they should be golfing. 

 

I may be playing my last round of golf for the year this Saturday. Back surgery in June 26th and coming up 3 weeks from yesterday. I am looking forward to not hurting everyday.
