I tried but the best I could do was match @PMookie It's ok though, I was killing it with my driver today! 5/9 drives were 290+ and only 1 of my drives was "bad". The 1 bad drive was still in the fairway but I got it too high and the wind shut me down for 209 . . . It was a short hole so I was still able to make par.

The other highlight of the round was good ol' #11 again. Was 2 inches away from back to back eagles on this hole! I'll let the gps pic do the talking:

 

This crazy wind has made golf challenging these last few days but it's also been fun. Trying to figure out how the wind wants to funnel through the houses and trees has been rough. There have been holes where the wind is directly behind me on the tee but directly in front of me on the green. Still hanging in there and had a pretty good round though. I think I finally shook all my bad voodoo I was having recently.

54!!! I know so many people in their 20s and 30s that can't get 250. I'm 35 and just now getting up there. A year ago, I was one of those guys that barely got it over 200.  It's crazy how much skill and technique go in golf. How far were you driving when you were younger?

We didn’t have tracking methods! I remember I drove a 390 yard par 4 once, in Hilton Head. Group ahead had hit their second shot so we teed-off. We couldn’t find my ball anywhere. Went to the group ahead and asked if they’d seen it. Guy takes my ball out of his pocket and tosses it to me. “It was about 10 feet from the pin. We thought someone left it there.” Slazenger ball, Golfsmith steel-head driver, X100 steel shaft. I hit it a long way back then, steel shafts and heads too! Crazy. In college I drove a 320 yard par 4 with a 3 wood. It was downhill about 15 feet of elevation drop. I actually dented the face of that driver from impact in the same spot. Steel!

There's a black box "post score" at the very bottom of the thread as well as at the top, just below "reply to topic"

Tap that and it brings up a form to fill in course handicap, gross score, etc

That is awesome! I have a long way to go to get to that level. I still have a little time though.

I was sitting here putting in my long drive of 265 feeling pretty good about myself, then I see some of you guys mashing 330+  I've got a looooong ways to go mechanically before I can get there. May never do it, but if I can get to 300 once I'll be happy haha

Up and down round today. Started off slow with bogey bogey, but then got it going. 
WINS: 27 putts, 2/2 sand saves, driving it long (course is not soaked), 14 GIRs, had a turkey after a double 
LOSSES: Had a one putt double bogey from 43 yards . Drove it over the corner on a short par 4 and tried a hero shot that I rinsed, left the next one short in the bunker. Sand save double… 
AH HAS: Take your medicine even when it’s a casual round 

Nice round and great drive! Please tell me it was down wind, down hill!!!  Just kidding, great tee ball!

63 (SIXTY THREE) individual scores posted which is 10 more than last week.  This is a BLAST!!!.  

 

And in addition to the 63 rounds played within the tourney last week - we have some PLAYERS in our Tour!!

Low Net Score

First time member of the VCT @invee123 came to play this week and posted a net 63 (9 under par!!!) at Colorado National GC.  Tremendous round!!!    Welcome to the Tour Invee and Great Playing!!

Not to go without mention - @LinksgolfFever posted a 5 under round of net 67 securing his 2nd place spot, new member of the VCT @Randall Robbins scored a net 67 (4 under) for 3rd place. A 4-way tie for 4th at net 3 under par ( @Javs, @Preeway, @Bohnson, @fozcycle) and a 6-way tie for 5th with scores of net 2 under par ( @Lacassem, @RoverRick, @Alf. S, @Placasse61, @Golfspy_TCB, @Tom the Golf Nut).  And with the 3 way tie at -1, and 8-way tie at net even par... that makes a total of 24 separate rounds at net par or better!!!  I better find a swing coach to compete in this tour!!!

Most Birdies or Better

The Net Birdies or Better count was off the charts this week.  Our Low Net winner posted the most with 12 (!!??!!).  But as he is already sporting the Black Jacket Badge this week... the Birdie Badge is awarded to our second place Tour Member... @RoverRick during his round of Gross 77 /  Net 70, posted 11 birdies or better.  That must have been a CRAZY scorecard!!  Congrats Rick!

 

Longest Drive

Well, I wondered if it would happen, if we would have another Bomber join our ranks and give the long time VCT Members some additional competition in the Longest Drive category.... This week ... @Bohnson answered my question with a resounding: 

@bohnson recorded (what I believe to be the longest drive of our VCT history) a 345 yard drive on his way to shooting 3 under par gross (yep... gross).  Ummmm... not sure what to say here.... 

Had it not been for that drive... @snicerz and @PMookie would have been pulling out the measuring tape to see which of their 334 yard drives had an extra few inches over the other... This could be the most competitive category in the VCT over the coming weeks!

I also want to give a special shout out to @BKervin and @Tijoli; our two Women members of the VCT (with hopefully many more to come).  @BKervin was a model of consistency, posting two scores this week both at Net Even Par!  And @Tijoli posting two scores... the second round resulting in a 7 stroke improvement over the first round!!  I look for their names at the top of the leaderboard in Week 3!!

Ok, week 2 score. I'll get the hang of it soon. Heading to RTJ Golf trail and will be playing about 12 rounds in 9 days. So hopefully I'll do better at posting the results!!

@Golfspy_TCB The round with the 11 net birdies was actually 3 net eagles, 4 net birdies, an actual birdie that wasn’t a stroke hole, 3 bogeys and 3 doubles. It was a rollercoaster round. 
 

Followed by a Par 3 scramble where we tied second where I made all 9 putts and 2 solo birdies.

haha... maybe you are??  There should be one at the top of each page and one at the bottom.

That is strange, I am in google chrome which is where I clipped that from, and I also just checked edge and I have it there too???  @GolfSpy_APH any ideas on why the "post button" would not be showing??

Couldn't say. I see it on my end and dont use Edge. Would have to check tomorrow on that.

@Golfspy_TCBi think I broke the internet. Still no button to post score on mobile or desktop lol 

Played 18 today. Course was a little wet, slow greens, and cold today. Had a tough stretch of holes on the back where I got sloppy. Poor chipping, gotta work on the short game. 
3 gross birdies and left some out there. 74 net 76 from the tips. 
Long drive was 329.

Ohhhh!  Yes, of course... I didn't realize you were trying to post in a previous week.  Sorry about that.  I was in the weeds trying to figure out a programming glitch and didn't see the big picture.  Thanks @richk9holes!
