I have a few rounds planned between now and the end of the week.  I am designating my Sunday morning round as the Match Play round, as that one has a bit of embedded competition (my weekly money game with my regular group), which is probably the best frame of mind for grinding a bit more than a casual round

I'm playing Friday, and the prep-work has already begun between @Syks7 and myself- with half our opponents' scores already submitted (Damn you @Golf2Much and all your net-pars!), we've got a pretty clear picture of what it will take to at least keep up with them.  Should be pretty exciting, as my card matches up pretty well with Norm's, stroke-wise.  Looks like it may come down to the wire (and his net-birdie on 18 didn't do us any favors )

It took knowing that @fozcycle and I would be facing off against you that brought out the best in me!  Tuesday was the best round I've had in eight months!

Haha that is what my golf mind is saying, but my normal mind is unfortunately saying otherwise. Besides, playing tomorrow with those softer "day after rain" greens sound very enticing!

However you can post your card with hole by hole gross scores, and that also shows the hole by hole handicap - along with your course handicap... and we can calculate from there.  If you want to be an over achiever, you can also show your hole by hole net score.. but our crack team of mathematicians will re-calculate the net score anyway .    

So you can use an electronic card or post a pic of the actual card with your scores.  as long as we can see where you get your strokes, should be all good.

Just keep track of your hole by hole score on the scorecard.  

Use this site to calculate your course handicap for the course and tee box you'll be playing:  https://www.usga.org/course-handicap-calculator.html

That will tell you how many holes you stroke on.  If it's less than 18 you'll get one stroke on the hardest handicap holes up to your course handicap.  If it's over 18 you'll stroke on every hole and get a second stroke on the hardest holes to get to your course handicap.

The fake example below has a 8.2 index player getting 10 strokes on this course.  I highlighted the 10 hardest holes and the player nets one less stroke on each of those holes.  In this case the player shot a +3 but nets -7 because of the 10 strokes for his course handicap.  

 

If you share your scorecard like this @Golf2Much and @GolfSpy TCB will take it from there!

@TylorJudd, here you go in a nutshell.  The easiest way to post your match play scores as a substitute (and regular player as well) is to post on the Week 24 weekly virtual tournament page (like you often do).  It's like killing two birds with one stone (I hope PETA doesn't go after me for that saying).  You enter your self in this week's weekly tournament and you post your substitute week 2 match play submission.  Since the week 24 asks for the course and your course handicap for the tees you play, the only other thing I need is for you to post a picture of your scorecard or some other rendering so I can get the hole by hole handicap, par and your gross score.

To Match Play participants,

Based on a scoring change I have an update to the Week 1 results and standings.   The corrected result is as follows:  Will Rowland/MaxEntropy defeat Randall Robbins/GolfSpy_CG2 1 up with five won holes versus four.  That gives Net Birdie 2 wins and Birdie Blasters 2 losses. 

With this result, here are the updated standings:
