I stunk it up today (again).  35 putts!  That should say a lot about how well things went.  And since I shot an 84, I obviously wasn't hitting GIR.  Just not a good day.  Next time?

At the Big Rock Indian Springs course in Indio, they closed the 18th green (temporary green set up in the fairway.  Classic and hot rod gathering along the #18 cart path.  View from my table on the patio...  as they left when it started to get dark, I got to see all the cars as they drove past me to the parking lot.

I've never seen a 4x4 Corvette before ...

A Corvette 4X4 . That's just not right.

Must have had an “Alien Possession”. After a couple weeks of dismal play shot 3 over 1 double & 1 bogie.

I switched out the G410 irons and replaced with the Mizzies. It wasn’t the irons fault just from tempo & swing plain.

No bacon for me this morning!!IMG_0392.PNG

No, had a lunch planned @ a pretty good Italian restaurant with some couples and didn’t want to ruin it.

Played my first round for 3 weeks, weather was a bit of a challenge, with light drizzle making it particularly difficult to judge the speed on the green.

Shot 12 over, highlights were making bogey after hitting my tee shot OOB and holing a bunker shot (unfortunately it was for par)

Drove ok, with 2 bad drives that cost me shots, and irons were pretty solid.

I really need to get out on the course more.

Got out for 18 today and more B X testing.
36/47 for an 83
8/14 FiR
10/18 GiR
34 Putts
After playing even on the front with 2 birds and 2 bogeys and feeling really good. I hooked one OB onto the street on #11 for a quad, and tripled #16. What a dumb hobby, haha!

Would’ve been better if you hit a car with that #streetball!

New round today was nowhere as good a the other day, and, given my usual problems with this course, it was still somewhat better than usual.

Course 73.2/128

Score 92, 39 putts (left way too many way too long when I hit the green). Only 17 GIR, Not as many FIR as well.

Two balls sent swimming and one shot into the trees past a green. So penalties plus the most lost balls for the year.

In reality, most shots that were "off" were just enough off to make playing the round seem greatly unplanned. 7i usually short, and 6i usually a bit long.

All the penalties would not have existed with no more than 5-8 yards less oomph.

Mostly operator error, who may have tried too hard in terms of trying for yards. Still, perhaps the best round at this course for me and we did not play forward tees this time.  Perhaps I am complaining too much as I came in second in my foursomes. Hard to accept a very mediocre round after a great one! More next week!

This is how golf works.  You have good rounds and bad rounds, you just hope that the spread starts to narrow.
