A very nice round for Team Commonwealth.  Overall, 2 over with 3 birdies, 30 putt round with longest drive of 272 yards.  Hopefully, it holds up as the competition is fierce, especially those Texas boys, @Javs and @Josh Parker.  Course rating 68.7, slope of 122, par 72

Thank you! I was able to hold it together after a bad double and some stupid bogies. Had a really good run of four birdies. Absolutely hit some of the best iron shots I have hit in weeks.  You had a great round yourself! Very good competition out there!!

One of my better scores this season.  This is a 9 hole course.  I almost always score better on the back 9.  Same 9 holes but I guess it takes me 9 to warm up!

It was burned in just a few spots, but it really has been dry. I do like the layout

It was a good driving day, even if my stats suggest otherwise. Only 6 fairways hit, but several others were less than 2 yards off. With fairways averaging 30 yards wide, I’ll take it. Hitting 16 greens was outstanding today the least. Sadly, too many were quite distant from the pin or in bad spots with lots of break. 

Hopefully we can make some tasty ham and eggs with this. Not sure if this was best drive of the day or the 295 yard drive I hit on #9 going uphill the entire way from tee to green.

Thanks. Course played almost max distance from the tees. There were only a couple holes with the back tees moved up and those were on par 3s. Playing up a tee actually makes it harder for me as it takes the driver out of play with too many holes having a dogleg to close. So, benefit of a higher slope/rating and better suited for my game. Today, I chose the right course.

Played the other 18-hole at Forest City Golf Resort up in Malaysia this week. Haven't played this 18 in over two years, so it was refreshing to jump on it again. Driver and putter were generally cooperating, but I still found myself out of sorts with my approach, only hitting 3 GIRs .

Generally happy with how my game is trending. Still can't quite control the blow ups (4 double bogeys this round!), but now, even WITH the blow ups, the scores are reasonable.

(That longest drive was downhill, downwind and likely multiple hops on the cart path! )

Our SAGES Senior Golfers Northern Regionals Tournament.

• 124 Senior Players (>50 years)
• 9 Regions
• Two rounds of Better Ball over 2 days.

My wife and I participated in this tournament at Wingate Park Country Club (South Africa) https://wingateparkcountryclub.co.za/, representing our region.

Again, to have so many senior players at a tournament is a fine experience.  I am not sure what the oldest person's age was, but would estimate that the average age of all the players would calculate to about 68 years.

Anyway, the course was in a pristine winter condition, providing exceptionally long shots on drives and long irons.  I hit my longest drive ever on this course.

On the first day, I had a good game, coming in on 36 points.  Wifey came in on 38 points (beating me again). As a pair we made BB 48 points for the first day (50 points for the leaders on day 1).  My drives were very good and the short game was acceptable. My first drive.......I put it on the green!!!!! 349 yds!!!!! (Scotty, you may book some lessons...I will give you some discount)

Having a fantastic 1st day, the 2nd day was disappointing.  My drives did not work, my short game was attached to my head which kept on looking up on each shot.  I am sure our opponents switched my glasses as I could not read any greens.  Both my wife and I only made 29 points each giving BB 40 points for the 2nd day. (Scotty, may I book some lessons... do I qualify for pensioners discount?)

Our total for the 2 days came to 88 points.

I am not sure what our final standing was as a BB team and Regional Team position as we missed the prize giving as we had to leave early to miss the afternoon peak traffic on our 100km trip home.

Lowest round of the year!  Throwing darts out there today.   Birdied both par 5's on the back.   Image below is my approach on 18th from 176 with my 4 hybrid.  Got up and down a couple of times and threw in a sandy on 16.

Was a struggle today particularly on the back 9 when I started leaving approach shot out to the right. Putting remained improved and encouraging. 2nd round in a row with no three putts just wasn't sharp enough with the irons today to give myself the birdie opportunities. I'll be giving it another go tomorrow morning and hopefully can make some needed improvement so my partner, @Golf2Much doesn't cry foul and request a new team member!

Well stated! I remember once getting really upset after a junior tournament. My Dad asked, did you do your best? I said yes. He then asked, did you learn what to work on? I said yes. Then he said, quit belly aching and get to work. Just be better next time. Lastly, he said make sure you’re having fun.

Played this afternoon at Reedsburg Country Club in Wisconsin, and played very well considering it was my first time on this course.

Course was in absolutely fabulous shape with greens that rolled true and fast.

Only used my driver on 2 holes, mostly 3 wood off the tee except for the par 3's.

Almost birdied both par 3's on the back, lipped out the birdie putt on the 2nd par 3.

And my shot(s) of the day both came on the 17th hole. 410-yard Par 4, downhill off the tee, but uphill into the green. Wind in our face, I hit driver and 6 iron to about 15 feet left of the flag, but the left to right breaking putt just missed on the high side.

Shot 78 total. 40/38 with 9 of 14 fairways, 11 of 18 greens, and the fairways I missed were no more than a few feet off. A lot of dogleg holes on this course and keeping the ball in play was critical to scoring.

Thank you @GolfSpy_KFT for your recommendations of the courses here, and next trip we make to this area we will have to get together.

Not unhappy with the outcome: NO three putts, a birdie and two pars. The two blow up holes, well, they happen but the frequency is becoming less and less. Loving the DF3 performance! 16 putts for 9 holes, 1.8/hole! Getting there! Man, it was great to be back on the course....

Had a redemption round after the last outing ... significantly easier course and pin locations. Was able to get off the tee significantly better and a couple nice approaches led to a very solid day

Nice round at Brack. Don’t let the rating fool you, you have to be so accurate out there, especially on the front 9.
 

Plus, A.W. Tillinghast greens are NEVER easy!

Started out awful with some shanks then got in a groove but did not putt well. Hit tee shots well, approach shots were rough but did manage to get 4 GIR. 38 putts with to many 3 putts. Some added strokes for using a bad club in the wrong areas just because it was cart path only. We were also rushing to beat a storm which always sucked but we have gotten rained out the last 2 times out and just wanted to finish a round.
