Played extremely well  other than a few holes,  Had a shank on 5, lol which I believe cost me 3-4 stokes.  I couldn't believe it when that happened.  I can't remember the last time I did that.  And that was my long drive hole, lol.

  The TS-912 T-Squared putter that I've been testing did some work.  Made 2 putts over 20', and didn't 3 putt once.  That putter is money!!

Awesome day today at the Old Course. Shot 41 on the front and managed my game pretty good. The course has more contour than you see at the Open Championship. Got in a lot of trouble with bunkers and greens on the back which shot my good round down. Awesome caddies and experience.

Tied a personal best, this time from the tips! 86! 

Front nine started ok going bogey, par (with 2 shots to get out of a Greenside bunker) and a birdie with a 19' putt. Hole 4 had a bogey (super long par 3). Hole 5 should have had bogey but thinned my chip to the back of the green and 3 putted from 45'. Hole 6 I just had a poor drive, then a shanked 4w that almost was a lost ball. Hole 7 hit a poor 7i in and didnt get up and down. 8 got too cute with a DI and hooked into the trees almost OB. 9 was ok but dropkicked my 7w on my approach. Starting on hole 9, I embraced the fade with driver, aiming up the left side on every hole and it would fade back to the right side. Distance was down but consistency was up.

On the back 9, had 7 pars! Hole 10 was a par after my 8i approach I pulled and luckily a tree stopped it from going into the road. Chipped with my 58 to 4' and made par. Hole 11 I ended up in a green side bunker and took 2 shots to get out again. Made double. Hole 12 after a decent drive, had a 5i in and shanked it! still had a PW in and hit it solid, but not enough as a tree knocked it down. Tried a PW bump and run and flubbed it onto the green. 3 putt from 45', ugh.

Then things got better. Hole 13 hit a soft 7i to 19' past the hole. 2 putt par. Hole 14 nice drive to 80 yards of green. Should have hit GW but hit my 54 and was just on fringe. hit 30' putt to 3' past and made par. Hole 15 pulled a drive and was in a good place. Then pulled 4w and got super lucky. Pulled it into a tree and it ricocheted. I thought it went backwards but instead it went forward and was only 60 yards from the green! Pitched to 11' and just missed the birdie. Hole 16 hit a poor 4w from the tee but on the fairway 150 away. Not solid 7i put still ended up pin high right of the green. Chipped on and made a 9' par. Hole 17 I am kicking myself. Hit a soft 7i to 5'. Putt felt straight but broke right. Made par. Hole 18 had a 19' putt for birdie that just burned the edge for a tap in par.

Was a super muggy round. Had some great shots, lots of fun and got to see a nutria family in a pond.

A tale of two nines for me today. I was 5 over on the front nine, 4 under on the back. I think the biggest difference was putting ego aside and putting the driver away not trying to kill every club. My approaches were much better taking the extra club and swinging easier today (not usually the case for me). Garner is not a very tough course, but putting together a 4 under nine holes is phenomenal for me. Now, I'm going to assume that when I play next, it will be awful (that's usually how it goes for me).

The driver continues to baffle me. Hit 4 drives in the first 8 holes with driver, all were 250+ and relatively straight. Then 9 I hook it, 10 I hit a toe s-word, 13 toe s-word, 15 top city. My last two drives of the day were 257 middle of fairway and 242 middle of the fairway. Fortunately on the 4 bad holes in question I only had one ball lost, took a double bogey, and the other 3 holes were par 5s so I was able to scramble and recover for pars. Driver really is holding me back from going into some uncharted territory for my scores, hoping to get it figure out here soon.

Putter let me down today.....3 putted twice.  Very dewy and humid this morning.  Had a couple of opportunities for birdies on 8 and 18.  This guy below was roaming across 18 fairway....a long way from home so I decided to pick him up and give him a lift.  

Hit my approach to about 4 feet on 18.....then he decided to try to commit suicide and ran off the cart and went skidding on his shell down the cart path!!!!!   So I had a little delay while I drove him to a safe spot close to a pond.  Got back to my birdie opportunity and missed it!!!  

I did make a nice birdie on 16 with a down hill left to righter.

Laid off golf for a week.  Didn’t even think about it!  Had to clear my head of all golf.   No warmup, no pre game bucket, went to 1st tee and pared it.  4 par on front nine. 1 par on back.

This was my first round at HLCC.  I really like this course.  It’s beautiful, pretty open fairways, lots of hills, and multi-level undulating greens.

95° and 100% humidity.  Sweat would drop off my hat onto the putter.   Lol.

The round started strong, but iron play deteriorated as the game progressed.  I saved a lot of bogeys with a strong short game.   This was overall another very enjoyable time, but a frustrating score. 
 

I’m starting the search for a grooved, consistent swing.  If I find it I know the scores will come.  How many of us have said that to ourselves?  Man oh man.

I don’t know what to think about today’s round. I mean, It’s a no birdie 78 with a double (6) on 8. I got on the par train and had some great up and downs but every green I hit I was 25-35 feet for birdie today. 

On one hand, I’m pleased with the +7 on a windy and hot Texas day and breaking 40 on each 9 (39-39) feels good, but I couldn’t get a birdie putt to fall and both my 3-putts were lip-outs.

Straight from the parking lot to the tee box on a breezy day in San Antonio but a good time and got pretty lucky with the random single I got paired with for an enjoyable round....and maybe he will join the forum or at least start checking out MGS

Anyways a weird day on the course. Put a +3 on a par 5 without losing a ball or other penalty, next hole a putt drops from 75 feet for birdie. Thought I had somethings picking up, but then back-to-back doubles. Next hole, birdie .... go figure. Such is life and golf

Meh day off the tee, pretty poor on approach play, chipping was solid, and putting was sporadic. 

Not upset with an 83 at the end of the day 

Might be able to get out again this week, but hopefully this helps us out @frazzman80

First time ever playing Falconhead. Blue tees slope 133 and 72.5 rating. The wind was up and the greens had been punched. Led to a very long day. I got my butt kicked. Some very long par 4’s and par 3’s playing into the wind. Only hit 8 fairways and 9 greens. Also had 32 putts on the punched greens. Not very good and looking for a better round to count this week!

Steady round today. I had 2 bad holes on the front that hurt me, and a bogey of a par 3 on the backside. I had several putts that burnt the edge of the hole. The course is in great shape for as hot and dry as it is. Told the superintendent how good the course looked with the weather we are having.

Putting was rough today.  Better than season average but a bit of a back slide. Should have been 3-4 strokes less at least.

Finished with another ball buried in the face of the mid-fairway pot bunker on 18.  Missed carrying the bunker by about a foot.  Then 3 putted for a double on the 18th green.

Decent ball striking but not great scoring. 

Oh, and 2 penalty strokes on drives.  Throwing away handfuls of strokes today

Such a good course but tough!  I almost holed the signature hole last time I played it.

I agree fully that Falconhead is a hard golf course. Especially when the wind is up. The 440 and 460 yard par 4’s that are narrow and into the wind are just beast. The 200 yard par 3 was playing at 225 yesterday into the wind. I murdered a 2 hybrid to get it just short on the front fringe. That course requires long and accurate shots all day. Definitely can’t coast on that golf course.

The good streak has ended. But a 3:20 front nine (a course that does not allow walkers, except, apparently, leagues, including the nine hole senior women league today, with 400+ yards between holes) had me fuming! Four groups on each hole had me upset with the marshals, but I knew they has no power to do anything. I do not think I will ever return to this course.

Started the round with an eagle, but everything after that I had to grind. Fortunately my short game and the L.A.B. DF3 putter bailed me out. Need a 12 or 13 footer to save par. No problem for Lab rat. 27 putt round with 7 one putts and no three putts.
