Another windy day on the course but non-competition day. Wind made approach shots challenging, flew the 3rd and 6th with good shots, 8th was right at the pin into the wind and came up short rolling down the infamous Coffin hill. Putting a bit better than my mid week game so happy.

I had a good ball striking round yesterday.  I only had 3 swings that i didnt like and only cost me bogeys on two of those.  An additional bogey on a 3 putt from about 80' coupled with 2 birds and an eagle got me to a -1 for the day.  14/18 GIR and lots of birdie chances that burned the edge.  It was a fun day!

Man I love being at my home course. Chip in for eagle, 4 birdies, and 4 bogeys in the day for the first round under par on the year. Even had a 20 footer for birdie on the last for a 69 that I left a tad short.  37/33.

Rocky day, (literally the course was in rough shape)off the tee, 3 penalties, mostly good with irons and wedges, 7 one putts, and 3 three putts ( all focus issue tap ins). I did have a 35 yard pitch that rolled in for birdie which was the shot of the round. If I put it all together soon I can see a low 80's coming

The makings of a low to mid 80s round lost steam on holes 16 and 17 with back to back triples. Also just didn’t hold enough par putts with lots of bogeys. Still a decent enough round for feeling like I didn’t play well and shooting one of my lower scores of the year

I missed breaking 90 for the first time ever by losing my approach shot on 18 into a creek. Tough way to end but still a personal best round of golf! I switched to Maxfli Tour S balls for the round and was backing up most wedge shots and I also went from my usual ~30% of FWIR and turned in a 50% on the round with 29 putts. Dad turned in an 81 and just missed breaking 80 for the first time in his life. GReat day at the course!

It was a struggle all day. Errant swings resulted in 5 penalty stokes so on the whole not a bad round as it could have been quite a bit worse...  Happy to report the Jailbird Cruiser is still performing nicely and saving me from myself on a regular basis. Hoping I can put another clean round together soon as it has been a few weeks...

Yesterday a group of us went for a day trip to Killeen to play the public course Stonetree. We played the white tees rating 70.7 and slope 125 to match best for all in our group. The tee boxes and fairways were generally nice, but the greens and bunkers were absolutely horrible. The course was also extremely firm. Drives ran out for an extra 20 to 80 yards. The greens were also firm and sandy and grainy. My back hurt all day, but I really hit the ball well with only a couple exceptions early in the round. Seems once I am used to the pain and warm things get better. Hit 11 fairways, 14 greens and had 31 putts on those crap greens. I had 4 bogeys that were just missed up and downs on the 4 greens I missed due to the greens or just horrible bunker conditions. However, I did manage to offset the mistakes with 5 birdies (2 were par 5’s that I was on the front fringe in 2). Back to Accupuncture and massage treatments and hope to get at least another round in this week. 

Nice round @Javs, especially given the course conditions. Good to see you are getting back out and able to work thru the back issue.

I missed breaking 90 for the first time ever by losing my approach shot on 18 into a creek. Tough way to end but still a personal best round of golf! I switched to Maxfli Tour S balls for the round and was backing up most wedge shots and I also went from my usual ~30% of FWIR and turned in a 50% on the round with 29 putts. Dad turned in an 81 and just missed breaking 80 for the first time in his life. GReat day at the course!

Man I love being at my home course. Chip in for eagle, 4 birdies, and 4 bogeys in the day for the first round under par on the year. Even had a 20 footer for birdie on the last for a 69 that I left a tad short.  37/33.

Played in the South Texas Am Tour event today at "Ol' Brack" and won a skin with a shot to 7' on #7 (and made birdie on 12 but washed with another player). My chances of finishing first were annihilated when I went double, triple (OB tee shot), double (water hazard par 3) on 8, 9, and 10. Shot 84 despite that awful stretch and came in net 3rd in the Third Flight.
