I just finished reading the Dave Wolfe article on the Callaway Customs Rogue ST Driver Designer. It made me wonder other than those who produce content for a living, how many folks actually pay the premium for customizing clubs? I most certainly have “played” with customizing drivers, Callaway & TaylorMade and putters, TaylorMade, Odyssey & Scotty Cameron but I have never pulled the trigger to purchase. I usually design around the colors of my favorite sports teams, SF 49ers and Giants. If you have purchased a custom club, we’re you pleased with the result? I listen to the Club Junkie Podcast. Brian Knudson commented that he bought a custom SIM2 and he felt the build quality looked rushed with epoxy visible in spots.

Well, the warm sunny weather brought out the blooms on my Tulip Magnolia tree in my back yard.  However, today it's a little cooler (only low 60's) and the wind came up... again.  Still, after last year's bust with blooms, the tree is looking quite nice.  Wish the irrigation water would be turned on.  I hate using city water outside.

Fantastic! I cannot wait until my pink dogwood is in bloom (another month or so)

During the winter months I picked up darts as a new hobby and my setup has taken shape. The latest addition is a dartboard surround. I’m now toying with adding some lighting.

Used to play back in my college days.  Amazing how expensive a dart can be,  but I guess all hobbies can be expensive.

I have two dogwoods, both white that are just starting to blossom.  Should be in full bloom next week with temps in mid-60's up to 75º.  Some dogwoods in our area have already blossomed and are starting to drop.  I don't know why mine are a couple weeks later.

Nice!  I used to be pretty good at darts... another reason why I am probably much better at putting when I look at the hole instead of the ball when I make my stroke.

Just checked in at Payne’s Valley!  90 minute frost delay, and cart path only on the widest fairways I’ve ever seen in my life, but you won’t find me complaining.  Walking around soaking up the clubhouse vibe right now.

Paired with just a twosome so we shouldn’t be too bad pace-wise (knock on wood).  I’ll post some pics later…

So, I played like garbage at Payne’s Valley, which I expected with it being my first round.  And, I was paired with 2 20-something’s who insisted they were going to play from the Tiger tees, even though they (and I) had no business being there.  And, the zoysia was still dormant, so certainly not as picturesque as I’d hoped.

But, what a track.  Barely broke 90 but I still had fun.
