Tomorrow I sign in to my new job, then the trailers with our stuff arrive Thursday.  Slowly getting there.

(Haven’t hit a ball in 6+ weeks, but who’s counting…)

Congratulations on the house. 😎

Really awesome porch and yard.

Here's hoping that all that still needs to be completed gets situated fairly easily for you going forward.

My wife and sister-in-law went to run some errands today while I was at work. She got in the car and noticed something smelled rancid. No, it wasn't my work shoes.

She looked on the back and when we went for grocery pickup Sunday, they had placed the ground beef in a cubby in the back.

Needless to say, I have Frebreezed the daylights out of it.

They also sell Fabreze air fresheners that snap into place on the vents of your car, and last quite a while too.

That may help get rid of any remaining issues you may have.

I appreciate it Robert, didn't think about anything that might have made it into the vents.

That sucks, hopefully it doesn’t last too long and the Fabreeze does the trick.

Managed to pick this up in a tyre on my way top my second job yesterday. No idea what it is but I had to replace the tyre. Managed to find a near new take off for $50 but it's not the same brand so my CDO is now acting up.

It's here, as promised but my thinking is WNY will once again have no exciting weather tonight just like 5 years ago when a tornadic dangerous thunderstorm front swept up the lake from Ohio and Pennsylvania only to evaporate on approach leaving us a peaceful evening.

I was right under that bright orange just over the Pennsylvania line for about 2 hours.  Lots of close lightning strikes, rolling thunder, heavy rain and winds.  No damage we are aware of. Poor pup hiding out in basement he doesn't like storms.

Thanks for thinking of me.  Glad all is well your way!

May also want to change cabin air filter if you are having lingering smells.  Ozone spray works wonders as well.

I've thought about that, I need to look the Tiguan over and figure out if I would only need to drop the glove box. I know how VW does their cabin air filter and where they put them. I would say I might have torn down a couple of Atlas's and Passats. Had to tear down the new Atlas last weekend while changing out an IP skin (dash).

I appreciate the advice!

I actually think there is a plate you take off just past the glove box on those, couple of screws and I don't think you have to drop the box at all.  Should be easier than the dash!

I'd agree since that's a general maintenance item. Of course on my last Benz they put the batteries under the front passenger seat - so you had to take the seat off to replace the batteries 🤦‍♂️. So  filter replacement could be as easy as a couple of screws or .....................

I know a lot of cars it's behind the glove box, but you can drop it with a couple of tabs, so still pretty easy.

But speaking of dumb placement, we had a 2009 Yukon that instructed you to take the entire front bumper and fascia off to replace the driver side headlight bulb.  Wound up taking it to a friend with a lift, pulling the wheel liner, and rigging a tool to get to the assembly.

Looking at it, it's just a couple of tabs and pulling the arm off the glove compartment, so it'll be pretty easy. @CLenahan, that Yukon sounds like a pain if that's what you had to do to replace a headlamp. That's crazy!

We had fun changing out the skin on the new Atlas. The engineers decided it was a great idea to put a screw underneath the speaker cover on the top of the dash, which is hard to get to with the windshield already in. Then, they put a speaker up there along with the OCU (on call unit), which covers the screw.

I swear they design cockpits around the idea of "let's find the worst place to put a screw and design around that".

There is a special extra torturous place in hell for automobile engineers.  We had an acadia that, like the yukon, needed the wheel well liner pulled and an octopus arm dexterity to replace a headlight bulb.  Parents had a gm car (cant remember which one exactly) that you had to remove the front passenger side tire to access the oil filter.

More than a few other examples from over the years that had me cussing out those supposed geniuses.

that Yukon sounds like a pain if that's what you had to do to replace a headlamp.

My 2014 Equinox is the same for headlight replacement, on a winter day had to pull all the plastic retainers out of the driver side wheel well liner to get at the back of the headlamp assembly, it was well sealed with a flexible cap and there was lots of room with the liner out.  Prep and replacement of the liner was 95% of the job and it was a cold day for sure.  On the plus side, I have to do some rust work on the passenger side front fender and the fender liner is a known item now in warm drier weather.

When I purchased our Expedition Max, I opted for not only the 8 year/120k coverage but spent the additional $90 that covers all interior and exterior lighting.  I had done enough research prior to purchasing to know that the collective industry braniacs have absolutely nothing on Ford's team.  Just one R&R of a front headlamp will offset 20% of the warranty plan... ridiculous 😐.

I cna think of two annoying tasks on my old 2008 Honda Accord. One was the headlamp just like many others. Oddly enough, only the low and turn signal bulbs. The high bulb and running lamp you could access from the under the hood, but the ones that frequently needed replacement required to turn the wheel out of the way and remove the wheel liner.

The other was replacing the windshield washer fluid reservoir. It snaked up the passenger side so had to remove the front passenger wheel, wheel liner, manage to remove the 3 bolts holding it in and then snake the neck through all the rest of the stuff blind to pull it out. Reverse snake it up to put the new one in. I was even more angry when I found out I didn't have to actually replace the original. The gasket had just moved out of its slot and was leaking from around the gasket instead of being cracked like I was told... By the time I found out, I had already taken the old one out and decided screw it and put the replacement in.

The Ministers Kia Seltos is the same for the drivers side headlight. Have to take the wheel well liner out to change the bulb.

GHIN

I'm curious on how other courses calculate your handicap for a tournament.   Do they simply use what GHIN says?  Do they adjust it based on their course level?

The reason I am asking is -

My GHIN 28.7

Ridgemont Country Club - GHIN shows my handicap at 35

Which one do they use?  How do they know how to calculate the difference for their course?

If they don't calculate it based on their course I am at a disadvantage?  How do I get them to adjust it if they do?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

What you see on GHIN is your handicap index.  This value is used to calculate your course handicap which is used when you play that specific course and set of tees.   The formula is: Course Handicap = Handicap Index x Slope Rating / 113.    If you are playing match play they will typically use 90% of your course handicap.

I looked up the course and based on the slope I found if playing from the white tees: 28.7 * 134/ 113 = 34.03 and  If playing from the blue tees it is 35.8

ghin will also calculate your course handicap for you.
