Weather in your neck of the woods?

Recommended Posts

Similar here in central IN.  Around the single digits with a high in the teens.  Supposed to be high 40s over weekend, but chance for rain and the snow needs to melt so still no golf for a few more weeks.

Central IN guy here as well.
Isn’t it nice to see that the snow melted just in time for more snow tomorrow?

I thought Spring started already? At least it’s staying lighter longer...

Ok, I'll add my part. I'm sure the beach has dusting of snow and ice but I'm sorry to disappoint you, I live 2.5 hours south of Houston. It is even rarer for us to get the fluffy white stuff. And I no

Snow isn't the only problem. Just checked in with the NWS in northern Indiana. Frost level is 6 inches deep. That'll take a little while to get out. I'm sure you can play on a little frost, but six inches probably needs a week of dry warm weather to get out of the soil.

We miss the snow today but we will be socked by rain on Saturday.

For the first time in a while I don't see low temps forecast - at least for the next 10 days. Could spring be around the corner? This has been a horrible winter for cold temps.

Nice to find another guy in Indy, I'm just outside in Fishers.  I'm hoping this can be the last hurrah and the snow fall is over for the year.  I seriously doubt that will happen, but let's hope.

I get to go to Atlanta next week for work so I'm hoping to sneak in 9 holes.

We average 43 inches of rainfall per year.  We've had 22 inches since September 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the 9th fairway at my home club taken at about 6PM last night.  The stream banks are less than 8 feet wide and the normal stream volume is less than 4 inches deep.  The bridge can be seen in the middle of the picture.  In my 12 years as a member, I've never seen this stream outside its banks!

BRCC.jpg

Yesterday afternoon, my daughter and I got out for the first time in 2019.  The section of my home club pictured above from September is still in very bad shape.  The creek has receded back into it's banks but the ground water is 8 inches above ground in many places.  Holes 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 are still unplayable.

We have received 18 months average rainfall since September 9th, and it's still raining!

We've been hit with a ton of rain here too, but not quite that bad.  I hope the course can recover in time for spring/summer!

We still have snow on the ground here in E. Washington.  It was 19º this morning, but the forecast shows temps warming up into the 40's over the next week.  Maybe courses will start opening by the first day of Spring.  I've had enough winter.

I came here to whine about how windy it was this past weekend and how hard it made playing...

Then I caught up with some of your local weather and I'll just go somewhere else with my "problems." Hope you mainland folk get some better weather shortly.

Supposed to get hit with a very brief "storm" later today, but then the trend is positive toward the weekend with sunny and mid-50's! Maybe my normal scramble group will come out of hiding and actually play! I will.

You are lucky.  The storm hit us last night, but it was below freezing so it started out as freezing rain, then turned to sleet about 5am, then snow at 7am.  It's a white-out now with the wind blowing.  Here's a picture of the local airport tarmac behind my wife's business 5 minutes ago.  The piles of snow are from the airport plows trying to keep the tarmac clear.

I guess technically it's still winter, but this is ridiculous for our area where we are used to playing golf all winter long most years.  I guess we are doing our part to dispel the global warming myth.  LOL.
