Yeah. Pace picked up for a bit and after the triple on 7 which is not that tough of hole. I decided to let it go for a hole and see if I could get back on track.

 

I would have included a few more pics. But didn't want to disturb the other guys.

After getting smoked in matches 1 and 2, they split 3 and 4. So my partner and I need to sweep big to win this week's match. It's against the team in the last playoff spot so our playoff chances will probably be toast if we lose.

 

I love the live stream idea but unlikely to be as climactic as yours. I'll give it a try if we make playoffs.

I went into the final hole with a 4 shot lead if I am correct. It's a par 5 my tee shot was short. I played my 2nd shot safe as it had mud on the ball and a hazard on the left.

 

So I was left with 190 over the hazard to the green or a 50 yard layup to get to the front.

 

I just couldn't do that and went for it an hit it heavy. Into the hazard.

 

Took my drop hit 5 up near the green and chipped to 7 feet and made the putt for double.

 

He cuffed a chip for 3 and bogeyd.

 

 

I win with a 51 to his 49.

 

Obviously we both played bad golf. But I was happy with a couple up and down pars. Pretty clutch putting all day except for the one missed from about 2 feet on Hole 4.

 

Well on to round 2!!!

Well done CG2. Winning ugly is one of the great joys of matchplay. The best part is it can really help your attitude in subsequent matches, knowing you don't necessarily need to be at your best can be a great pressure valve.

And as far as the reporting went...Great job- And no mindless chatter and subtle innuendo - straight forward, no nonsense reporting- all done while playing...

 

Hey, that could spark an idea- now that Bones and Feherty and a few other players and caddies are now doing TV commentary- why don't we just mike up the players and let them talk their way through the course...!!!  might be fun, but probably could only be shown on PPV or HBO -SHOWTIME sort of network which wouldn't have to BLEEEEEP out every other word....

Overall, we're down 5 holes and 8 strokes. Not insurmountable but Scott and I will both need to be in the 30s to have a chance.

Thanks for the compliment.  yeah, just tried to give the facts and save any commentary for afterward, and since it wasn't great play by either of us, not too much commentary to add.   

 

I like your idea...I would buy it.   I mean the exchange between Charlie Hoffman and his caddie on 16 at The Bridegestone was some of the best golf coverage I've seen in quite a while.   To get that inside of look.

I played an impromptu 18 holes today with a friend who is visiting from out of town and played them in.   I like them and will be using them during the next round, which get ready for this is going to be tomorrow am, due to my opponent being on vacation next week and requesting to play a make up date.

 

 

Way to go Rob!!!   I am going to enjoy letting people know that the league champion is a good friend of mine.
