I don't understand how you can't like a guy who has taken a million dollar tour and turned it into a billion dollar tour...he completely revolutionized the golf industry - from television to equipment and everything in between - single handedly...

I get that he's not the most upstanding guy off the course but there is just no argument about what he's done on the course in the last 25 years both for himself and everyone around him...this can't even be disputed.

 

I love how much he has meant to this game and what he's done for it... 

 

But, I digress...

Yea there is no way in hell the Farmer's Exchange tournament drew more viewers than the Master's.  I'm sorry I'm not buying it.

Perhaps not, but it definitely drew more viewers with Tiger in the tournament than without him in it...  and I think that's the point here.

Yup I agree. For whatever reason he has more drawing power even if he's not winning which of course hasn't happened in a while.

2017 Masters final round 7.6 over night

 

2018 Farmers final round 2.8 over night

 

The 2017 Masters did have the lowest ratings in 13 years...

Not really a fan of his either, just curious to see what you guys thought about his "fix" for Tiger

 

I'd tell him to try and win 14 majors, 79 events, or 9 events in 1 season.

 

On the subject of a has been. I'd rather be a has been and a legend than a "never was." No one gave him a chance to even finish 4-rounds and dude just finished T-27 while proceeding to spray his driver all over the course. Can't compete with the distance the new guys have, can't put 4 rounds in a weekend, etc. etc. New excuse every week for the haters, you guys are boring already.

Did some research.

So this shows the Masters had the better rating by far.   Even on an off year which tells you how important this tournament is to the golfing public as a whole.

DJ tested positive for coke, Lexi got caught cheating whether or not it was a mistake who knows, and John Daly is a degenerate gambler. The only reason you don't hate them is because they're not legends and the media didn't put them in the guillotine for everyone to see. Golfers are humans who make human mistakes. I don't know why he's held to such unfair standards only due to the fact that no one in the modern era can seem to match what he's done on the course?

I saw the Q&A and it was very interesting. I will say this, I think Tiger is so complicated a person that we will never know the true story about him. Which is disheartening because usually when there are not concrete facts, everyone takes different avenues from the limited details.

Not sure about you but I haven't been this excited to watch a golf tournament early in the season for a long time. Really happy to have Tiger back in the mix.

 

How do you think he'll do this week? Make/miss the cut? Top 10? WIN IT ALL !?!?!

 

After watching Tiger in contention the past couple of weeks I cannot wait until the Master's. He moves the needle! I even had to make myself a new watch face lol.
