Good morning, Spies! A brisk 36 degrees in the capital of North Carolina this morning. Have one patient in the morning, then a workout this afternoon. Don't think I'll be hitting any balls, but I plan to set up a tee time for tomorrow afternoon. Not sure where yet; one thing about NC is there are plenty of options.

50's -70-s yesterday,  37⁰ this morning with a high of 61⁰ this afternoon.  Windy too.

@GolfSpy_APH sending positive vibes your way, hope whatever has you needing them rectifies itself quickly!

910 tee time for this morning.  Put in for a single, but probably will be put into another group. Hopefully won't embarrass myself too bad. Range is closed for repairs in preparation for a tournament. so no warmups either... ugh

Good morning to all on a cold Tuesday morning. Enjoying my morning coffee with the huskies at my feet. I woke to snow on the ground, so obviously winter didn’t get my previous message, so I’m sending it again. But, that Mother Nature is a fickle beast. Knowing my luck it will snow the first week of April just to piss you off. You heard it here first. Have a great day.

Good not quite yet real spring here either Morning!!

Yeah Mr Sun is out, but temps dipped to the freezing mark overnight plus it's another day with crazy strong winds....

So no golf outside for me today and have acupuncture later this morning .. very much needed on the old back! .. and then an initial consult for LASIK. 

I'm a little leery about people poking around on the eyes but a few friends have done it and had great outcomes. It would be nice to see more clearly - especially out on the golf course!

(.. e.g. so exactly how deep into the woods did that last shot go..? )

Ok well get out there and have a productive Tuesday all!!

Haven't come across too many NC Spies yet. @Tom the Golf Nut and @Willie T live a couple of hours away to the south and east respectively, and we've discussed an eventual golf outing, but nothing firm. I would be surprised if there aren't some Spies in the Raleigh-Durham area but haven't run across them yet.

Good Tuesday morning from SE Wyoming to you MGS Troops! A hell of a time crawling out of bed this morning.

Our muni course opens today, but I doubt I’ll play. I’m still loopy and sore from Mesquite and I have a Ping fitting on Friday that I want to be fresh for. Los Poopies fought to get up,

but decided that the coffee ritual was important enough to join me. The hot tub was out of the question because I needed to shock it since I hadn’t added Chlorine since before the Mesquite trip. Tonight though. Have a blessed and happy Tuesday and if you play today happy birdie hunting! Wyo out

Good Tuesday morning spies! Last day off of work for me from our trip to Las Vegas. Definitely needed that extra sleep this morning to help get back to normalcy. Currently working on some chipping and pitching with the new 54° Sub 70 in my basement and hoping that it warms up outside just enough in the next couple of hours so that I can go play a round to get 2024 started.

Good morning Spies!

Enjoying my coffee as I watch the snow fall in CNY. I feel like I let @GolfSpy_APH down yesterday. It was a busy morning for and I didn’t post. Had I known we were looking at a record day. I had my Monday run workout. A warm up of .5 mile run, 3x1000 (.62) for time then a .5 mile run to cool down. I also had my dermatology appointment. My Dr. recommended a new med for psoriasis that can also help with my psoriatic arthritis. I need to do some research to fully understand the side effects. It’s a biologic that appears to be pricey so I have to see if it’s even covered by insurance.

The dermatologist is near Golf Galaxy so I had to pop in. They had a nice selection of putters. So I tried a few including some from L.A.B. Golf. It was the first time I’ve tried them in the wild. They felt nice. I has particularly taken by the Mezz 1 Max. They didn’t have a DF3 though which I would have liked to have tried. The DF 2.1 was not ungainly as I had expected. I did like the looks and feel of the new Evnroll putters with the new face insert. I also tried some Bettinardi putters. The new 2024 Inovai offering looks really good. They nailed the aesthetics. I think it felt good but the head was wrapped in plastic so judging it fully was limited. I did buy a new glove. I have always gotten along well with TaylorMade gloves.

It was great to see @bens197 was selected to test the Ping S159 wedges. Congrats!

We learned that our foster dog Dottie is fitting in really well in her fur-ever home. That makes us so happier to hear.

If I was going to spend a stoopid amount of money on a putter, that would be the one I get. I was making 30-footers on the carpet when I tried the 2.1 at Golf Galaxy. Speaking of which, a GG run this afternoon might be in order.

OK so...

When I met my wife she had a male Golden - and his naughty eating adventures included...

• three pounds of raw chicken cutlets
• two whole plain pizzas
• a very large number of small foil wrapped chocolates that had filled an entire Christmas stocking (yes hanging from the fireplace mantel!)
• picking out of the garbage cans in the kids' rooms (he'd push through the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs)
• a large ham hock purloined from a neighbor's garage
• an unknown number of bowls of cat food outside of another neighbor's house
• ..and who knows what else!?

These last two roaming adventures were before I started fixing gaps in the backyard fencing .. took a few tries but was finally able to contain him. And he was a large and thick coated Golden, so I did appreciate his determination! 

But the best was dinnertime - it took a while for me to realize what was going on, but one kid would come home from school and give the dog his dinner .. another kid came home later and .. yep .. gave him another dinner .. then either the third kid or my wife would come home and.....

Apparently he had a *very* convincing 'I'm starving lemme show you where my dinner bowl is' act!!

So the solution for that was hanging a calendar and a sharpie over the dog food storage bin -> feed him = "X" out the current day!!

There are a few more in the Raleigh area that were active a while ago but a little less now.   Maybe when golf season gets more under way.

Morning All,

New day and then I'm off for vacation until Monday after this one day at work. Yesterday's round with the new Mizuno Clubs was encouraging. I am definitely going to have to dial in the distance with them since they do not go nearly as far as the PXG clubs I had. Today I have to go talk to a financial specialist for all the stuff dealing with my dads pension my brother and I are to split. The problem is I am the only beneficiary listed, so all of this is going to me and I'll be taxed on it. that's not fun since it puts us in a whole new tax bracket as a married couple. It's a headache to say the least. Anyway, hope everyone has a good day.

I had also touched base with @BKervin about combining a trip to see my son with a round with her in the Pawleys Island-Myrtle Beach area, but then my boss started sending me out of town just about every week. So I haven't made it down there.

My first good morning post on the eve of heading to Pinehurst! I’ve never done a “guys trip” so I have a feeling this will be like Christmas morning. Weather here in Northern Va is a little on the chilly side, but won’t prevent me from getting a practice round in this morning before packing.

I know trips like this are supposed to be fun and all, but I’m nervous about playing well on some of these courses.

Goldens are the worst. 

My wife also had a golden when we met. During my time with the dog, Bella, she found the worst things and ate her way into trouble and an emergency vet visit, often on the weekend and/or at 3 in the morning. Nothing was out of her reach. No table or counter was too tall for her. Her strange food choices included:

• 100% cacao chocolate
• prescription strength ibuprofen
• 100 cable nails (small nails with plastic clips to hold cables to the wall).

The insurance company must have hated us.

Good morning! Today is another meetings most of the day work day. I've already had a couple of project status meetings and now I'm on to workgroup meetings. I tend to consume lots of coffee during these meetings and should probably tone it down.

On another note, I was hoping to get out golfing at least one more time before going to Branson on our family vacation. We're only going to golf once (maybe twice), but I wanted to knock off a little more rust. This will be my 1st time golfing outside of Michigan since returning to golf in 2021.

I actually stepped down from the world curling ice making. 

Now that I have a larger role with MyGolfSpy I needed to free up time and WCF was the thing I chose to cut.

I may be in Pinehurst tomorrow; about to call and see if tee times are available for #1 or #3. I've played #3 and would recommend it as a good way to ease into the Pinehurst vibe. Also don't ignore The Cradle, which is a helluva fun way to spend an hour (or two if you take advantage of the free replay).

Just called and set up #1 tomorrow afternoon so I'm good.

Have fun; golf trips can be great fun.  I know the MGS forum outings have been a blast.  
 

I’ll also be brutally honest, no one at the course cares how well you play.  They have seen it all;  just maintain a solid pace of play, fill your divots, and repair ball marks on the greens.
