I have a Spornia ProStrike Commercial net, 5 by 5 feet, very cushioned and feels a lot like real turf, and I'm very pleased with it. May or may not be useful for you for a backyard setup because of its size (killing the grass underneath).

Thank you, I will look into this straight away. Happy Friday to you.

I would not be mad about having less to mow... thats for certain, takes about an hour currently and is not the most beautiful grass, heh.

Cheers.

I worked in New Bern for a few months a couple of winters ago; never played Carolina Colours but hit some putts on their practice green after work. However, I'll be in Charlotte Monday afternoon.

I think Alan Parsons discussed that in a song.

Well it’s only a 4 hour drive or so from charlotte lol you can make it

I’m not the greatest but I’ll always play

Agreed. I've actually made a lot of changes to eat better (and less), mixed with the other activities. Still no joy. That's what's really got me down the most.

Dump your carbohydrates. Keep those down to less than 25 grams a day (a slice of bread has 15 to 30 grams of carbs). You will shed pounds quickly. But this is a lifestyle change, not a diet. If you add carbs back into your meals (+100 grams or more a day) you will add pounds. You can eat as much fat and protein as you want, just no carbs. Potatoes, rice, pasta, most fruit, anything sweet, and bread products are ejected from your food sources.  It is a hard lifestyle to adhere to, very boring. But it keeps the weight off. We have no rice or potatoes in the house and I love taters....But I don't want the carbs.

The really interesting thing (to me) about eating carbohydrates is that for every gram you eat your body tries to hold on to an extra 3 to 4 grams of water. If you're only looking at scale weight, then eating carbs can actually make that number on the scale balloon up faster than pretty much anything else. It's pretty wild.

Good morning MGSpies from a soggy rain for the rest of the weekend but springtime WNY on this last day of the workweek.  Coffee is hitting the spot on the zero commute in basement command center where the dehumidifier has been running nearly constantly since yesterday and the sump sounds like Niagara Falls' little buddy.  Conference call was great as usual and glad to see so many on interacting, also glad to hear Chuck @cksurfdude got his thermostat repaired (and that friend is one to keep!).  Great looking profile pic @MattF and love the Aussi twist 🔥

Tomorrow if anyone is in the WNY and Buffalo area, not intended as a plug for the brand but for the fundraising for Veteran golf it is, Resurgence Brewery on Chicago Street is again releasing for the 2024 summer season their Smash Factor IPA in partnership with OnCore Golf with a portion of the purchase price going to PGA HOPE program of the Western NY PGA section as shown on each can label.  This is the 3rd year of the event and dedicated support to local Veteran golf I volunteer for that really does make a difference in Veteran's lives, kicks off at noon and if anyone does venture in, I will be glad to spend the time with you! 🍻

Hope golf is a part of your day ⛳

Not only good to shred pounds. In June 2017 I started a new eating lifestyle, not to lose weight per se but because for years I had been plagued with joints pain caused by inflammation .

After one month i had no more pain in my joints, started to exercise again. After 2 months I had lost 35 pounds and I was back to my teenage weight at 155. I’m 73 and I feel better and in better shape that I was at 40. I take no medication and my blood shows everything perfect. Needless to say I was able to start playing golf again.

Cobra woods - Callaway irons - Odyssey putter all soon to be replaced.

Morning Spies!

Wanted to share that I had a big presentation to our board last night and by all accounts it went really well. I was working on it for almost three months, so I'm excited and relieved about the whole thing and my boss is putting in the paperwork for a little promotion (slightly better title and a bit more money). I think I'm going to need to celebrate by buying myself something shiny and golf related.

My kiddo and wife were sick all week and I was pretty worried I was going to catch it too and have some trouble with the presentation (or worse have to bail on it all together) but I got through pretty much unscathed until this morning. Today I'm feeling it big time. I'm glad I get to telework today and will be able to (hopefully) take it easy with the master's on in the background and a little daydreaming about what I might buy myself.

I'm leaning towards maybe the ShotScope X5 or maybe the H4 (handheld). I've been really wanting to start tracking my strokes-gained and those seem like good options. Anyone have opinions on them? Or other ways to track SG? I'm hoping to avoid a subscription if possible, but if it's worth it, it's worth it.

I was in the same boat about shot and SG tracking, really did not want a subscription service but I have been really happy with my Arccos setup.  App is pretty user friendly, although it might work better on something larger than iPhone SE.  Stats are pretty nice and you can set your target HC to see where your SG is lacking an average golfer of that HC.  Plus you can post scores to USGA through the app.

It was a pretty good day today until I had a bout with vertigo at work where the world started spinning. Now I'm at the emergency room after the urgent care doctor said I have impressively high blood pressure.

Good times!

Hope you get treated for it and get back to normal

Good morning!

Got out this morning for 18 holes and honestly felt like Augusta conditions! 40+ mph gusts. Definitely the windiest conditions I've played in! I usually love windy conditions(10-20mph) and play well but this was definitely to thr extreme. Coupled with the 3 inches of rain we had the last 2 days, making it very soggy. It was a rough day where I shot 82. Crazy how you can feel like you've hit a good shot and end up 20 yards long or short depending on if it gusted or not. It was certainly an experience lol.

If it isn't one thing, it's another, huh?

I remember about 20 years ago when I was working in Houston right across the street from the giant Methodist Hospital. Guy came into our clinic for a routine visit and we took his blood pressure as per usual practice. It was like 220/120, a stroke waiting to happen. We put him in a wheelchair, down the elevator, across the skybridge to Methodist and directly to the ER.

Just when you think it is almost golfing weather, Chicago weather lets you know, not so fast LOL. This morning it was snowing, (just flakes) then it rained, then it was sunny and nice, not it's Hailing 😄 Gotta Love It!

Just your "normal" obsessed golfer in search of more shots with names of flying critters...

Jason, @sirchunksalot hope they get it all sorted out and you get back to normal levels.

Keep us updated.

@RockerFCC cold, windy and rainy here all day in the Detroit area, supposed to be dry and warmer over the weekend though.

Still spring in the mid-west, and the temperatures here are still riding the roller coaster.

The ER doctor has some tests ran on me and said the HBP had not caused and problems that would show I was at a high risk of stroke and wants me to see my primary care doctor about getting on meds. He did prescribe medicine for the vertigo and I'll have to get in that.

It was scary, I haven't had a room spin on me like that in a long time. Thanks everyone for the well wishes, I appreciate all of you.

Glad to hear it was not as serious as it could have been, but HBP is nothing to fool around with.

It's looking better right now, it's still a bit high but lower than it was at the ER. I thought of posting a photo I took while I was waiting but thought better of it.

The wife and I are planning on incorporating some exercise along with the eating habits we're working on.

No matter what anyone tells you, don't ever take the diastolic (bottom number) being over 100 lightly.

I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I did put in a lot of years in a cardiac cath lab.

I appreciate the advice! It was spending some time there today but it's actually back down around 92 after getting home and relaxing. I'm just hoping I can get in to see my doctor on Monday and get a solid plan together to get this under control.

I try not to get too into advice on the Internet, but start taking your BP every morning after you get up and void, but before any coffee or meds. It gives a better picture of what's going on with your BP to your primary care team than measurements at random times, and they're the only ones besides cardiology (if they're following you) that will adjust your BP meds.
