I'm a little north of you on Long Island. I'm retired but my wife's still working .. the DelMarVa region in general is one area we might spend some time in to see if we like it for a possible winter home. That's still a few years out, though...

So in personal health news .. after yet another doctor visit yesterday, including an X-ray, still nothing definitive but did come home with more meds ... Dare say I feel a bit better this morning but that's probably mostly thanks to an actual almost full night's sleep for once!

Another nice day here and may fill part of it with some practice time, especially short game. Last round the wedges and putter were working much better but guys ya gotta remember -- "you don't own your swing you only rent it"

Good morning fellow MGS'ers and happy Thursday! We have rain in the forecast today, tomorrrow and Saturday, so it is looking like a wet weekend. Getting out into the woods sunday for my first sit of the bow hunting season as well. I always like to wait until mid-late October to get out as I much prefer sitting in colder temps. Greens are getting punched Monday & Tuesday this coming week, so safe to say yesterday's round was my last on greens with a true roll. If we are lucky, we've got about 3-4 weeks of golf left  before it's time to shut it down for this year. 

Was glad to sneak a round in over lunch yesterday and CRUISED through it. Went off on 10 and never had anyone in front of me and was done in 65 minutes, posting a 42. Both records! The scotty is treating me very well, I hit some long draws off the tee and was actually able to draw wedges through woods. It was all clicking yesterday and boy does that make golf fun.

Have a round scheduled for next week Friday with my uncle who played in the member/guest event with me this summer at his club in Madison, so really looking forward to that. as a 20 hdcp, I'll be playing off 23 strokes there with the tee box I am guessing we will play, so will be a good challenge!

Thursday morning by fellow spies. First thing first. As much as I respect and enjoy the digital companionship derived from this forum, could  those of you in the northern areas check to see if you left your windows open, looking at you @jdparker.  It would be much appreciated. It is doubtful if we reach 90 degrees more than once this entire week. As we all know I have decided to be sensitive in my old age, so ease of environment is important to us delicate ones. 
    Sadly there will be NO Ancient Ager League this year… Either because of moving, finances, institutionalization, incarceration ( NOT me ), disability, or death ( seemingly the wife person’s fondest hope for me  ) there are not the numbers of us needed to make a viable league. One glimmer of hope is that there was talk of starting a meandering team to galavant around the state and play other elderly at their or our course. We did this pre-Covid. While we mostly lost, we did meet some good people and play some interesting courses. There was some concern about the uptick in the Covid going on in the area, state, and country currently, so the discussion was table for another time. 
    Getting my remaining wedges off life-support and headed to the course. After the round, I will dedicate the rest of day continuing to be the loyal opposition to the high mucky-muck, The Great Girl Gender leader of things. 
     May this Thursday be good to you and yours.

Good Morning All, 

Yesterday was a bit of a letdown as the driver shaft that was due to be delivered never made it. A check of the tracking info provided now shows it in Minnesota and says it will be delivered tomorrow instead. Why a package coming from Connecticutt to Ohio routes through Minnesota is beyond me. Good to see FedEx is still a well oiled machine

Beyond that unpleasantness, the weather today looks great so I am going to get some swings in, one way or the other.

Good morning Spies, (2nd attempt. I posted initially in the wrong thread. I blame my illness )

Up early for a cuppa tea. I tested positive for COVID yesterday. Didn’t sleep well with a nasty headache. Extra Strength Excedrin has kicked in thankfully. Called the golf course to cancel my tee time. It’s been a few weeks since I last played as I’ve tweaked my back again, had family visiting and now this. . It just means I’ll appreciate it more when I get back out there.

always disappointing when it say is it will be delivered an then they yank the rug out from under you and say nope, maybe tomorrow.

Good Thursday Morning Spies! 

Cloudy & rainy Central Florida morning & will be\ rainy all day.  No golf today, did walk 9 holes yesterday morning and completed a TheStack session last night. 

Been AWOL the past couple of days, my computer died.  Heard a pop & blank screen.  Hoping it was a just a power surge, nope. It's dead. Broke out an old laptop & got it running. Felt naked without technology! 
But last evening my work computer screens went out, then computer (laptop) wouldn't charge & ran out of juice. Worked on it with IT Dept last night, they are sending new computer, current one out of warranty. This morning being stubborn, I was going to try and figure it out. Gorilla Tape & pressure getting laptop to charge! LOL.

If I was able to walk like I used to I would throw on the rainsuit and use a partial set of classic clubs and walk 9. I used to enjoy the solitude and the challenge of playing with like 5 clubs in bad weather. Loved hitting those little knuckle down screamer Quail high hooks with a 1 iron. Not in the cards for now but that is my next goal. I start walking some at the little par 3 up the road in 2 weeks on Saturdays since I am not playing the Saturday Shootouts any more.

It is a good idea but I do not have any close living relatives. Most of my friends if we do not see each other at the course we do call each other about everyday.

Morning everyone.   Journey to figure out what’s wrong with me continues today….well at least part of what is wrong with me. SWMBO would probably say I need to see someone about my mental state .   My Next test is scheduled for this afternoon; it been 3 weeks since my last appointment so progress is slow.  Maybe this test will give the doctors a clue,  it won’t know that until I see the doctor next week.

Good Morning everyone!

It's been a while since I've been on here as I decided to take some time and focus on work and family. I have a lot to catch up on but I feel refreshed and ready to go. A lot has been happing at work with managerial changes and 2024 planning so time was a definitely hard to come by. I was able to get a decent amount golf in this past week with my BIL @Byrnzee for their 29th family reunion golf tournament. I think this may be our favorite event of the year as there are a lot of good laughs and some great golf, rain or shine.

I'm looking forward to being back and catching up on the forum activity. Wishing everyone a great rest of the week!

@Dead Solid Bogey I have to enjoy the cooler weather when I can.  This summer was hotter and for longer than normal.  I lost track of days over a 100 so being able to have the windows cracked and save a few bucks on the electric bill felt good.

Today is our 10th wedding anniversary.

And tomorrow has been 17 years since my wife and I met, coincidentally it was a Friday 13th back then too.

I guess no golf this weekend.

It is lovely here, especially in October/fall months. Looking at a few days in a row of 75 and sunny before rain this weekend.

Good Morning everyone!  Rained on and off yesterday so no chance to continue my shrub pruning.  Massage was canceled but rescheduled to 10:15 today.  Will do some pruning early today then off to massage.

I decided to add 3 more layers of tape under the grips of my old irons yesterday when it was raining.  Removed the grips; added tape, then put grips back on.  Well, that took 20 minutes... so I spent an hour working on my follow-through in my hitting bay.  Progress!

Should be a nice day; rain has passed for now.  Getting cool at night (44º); windows are open last night.  Hope the weather allows you to get out on the course.  Play well!!

Understandable… Was wondering if you could direct the airflow to the east or west…? Apologies to those that live in those areas. In my defense it is hard, hard demanding work trying to be a kinder, gentler, more sensitive senior citizen. I may just have to abandon the attempt and the idea and just put my “Curmudgeon Emeritus” hat back on.

Good morning and happy Thursday everyone, almost to the weekend. 

The plan yesterday was an early afternoon tee time and to get in 18, had a work emergency and didn't end up getting out until about 330. The course was shockingly empty and I got in 16 holes walking. Game was a little rusty after a few weeks off but it was a great way to spend a Wednesday. 

Hoping to work on the short game after work today, weather looks cold and wet this weekend so the chances of playing are slim. More time for football! Everyone have a fantastic Thursday

Good Morning! I was able to get out yesterday for a quick 9 holes and it did not go well (other than the weather was beautiful). I think I was in a hurry state of mine and my short game was abysmal. Anyway, today is a new day and I'm taking @snoopy79's advice and making some coffee and ready to get after it at work today. Tonight we're heading to St. Louis for visiting family. No golf on the trip, but I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying St. Louis.

good morning everyone.

had a fun senior scramble wind up yesterday at our club, I contributed, sunk a 15 footer from off the front of the green on number 1 for a birdie, the pressure to perform was off lol

put an approach shot to 6 feet on par 5 number 3 and one of the lads putted it in so that was good, then almost jarred an 80 yd shot on the par 5 9th for another birdie, 3 under on the front.

Our 16 handicap put a second shot to 20 feet on par 5 13 then he sunk the eagle putt to go 5 under, I sunk a 15 footer on 15 for birdie, of course because of my index the lads want me to putt last and I really only had to do that 3 times, which is fine with me.

birdied 18 par 5 to go 7 under as a team and finished T1, our combined index was scratch and the other team was 1 so the bastards got us lol.

Lunch after and a fun day.

Looks like much nicer weather today, playing my own ball today so off we go.

This week is going by surprisingly fast and I can't believe tomorrow is Friday. Still plenty busy with work and wedding planning but making sure to find some time to relax and enjoy myself. Supposed to go to the Notre Dame vs. USC game on Saturday but weather is looking cold and rainy... might be a better game to watch inside on the couch.

Thanks Chuck.  I hope so too,  getting pretty expensive with all the tests they have run.    I am guessing/hoping definitive diagnosis comes the middle of next month when I see the next specialist.
