Edel SMS and SMS Pro Irons - 2023 Forum Review

I’ll post more about it later obviously, but I’m going 5-6 in the SMS, 7-PW in the Pro.  I game a TaylorMade DHY 4h that is NOT coming out of of my bag, so ordering the SMS 4 iron didn’t seem reasonable/necessary.

The Red Rooster test that the testers just got chosen for was open to Canadian residents. I think it has already been mentioned that the OEM's set the regions that get to partake in the tests and isn't regulated by the mods.

Didn't want to include this into my previous post, but I'm really looking forward to the fitting stories from our testers. I think Edel might be on to something with the SMS fittings and I'll be curious to see what different combinations of the weights they tried with each of you.

From what I can tell on Edel’s website, those pro irons have not much offset.  Requesting an up close and personal player view with a ball on the 7,6,5,4 irons if you guys would be so nice to do so.

Also… sorry, I am extremely picky.  Would you mind measuring the sole width?  
 

These things might be my golden ticket if I can put the weight at the toe to stop that pesky over draw.

I'm really curious to understand how the fitting goes and how knowledgeable the fitters are. Also if someone does get the extra weight how much fine dialing in you can get.

I am also not sure, the lofts are much weaker than my current set so I am thinking of maybe going 4/5 in SMS then 6 down in the pro, as my 6 iron comes in at 26 like the SMS 5 iron and I am comfortable hitting my 6 iron so I think that split will work well.

Happy to take some measurements and picks as well, maybe bust out the calipers get really precise.

I know I personally will not be able to get a true fitting due to where I live, but I have a process I am going to run through to try to approximate things that I will dive into in the coming days that I think will help. Though early thoughts are toe heavy as a draw is my issue with the irons.

Congrats....And look at you busting the myth that we only select the same people all the time or that you hve to have thousands of posts to be selected. 

When in truth all you have to do is setup a proper profile, get active in the forum in different subjects and everything else takes care of itself. 

And not to fear for evereyone else, there are some great tests coming up this year.   The team of @GolfSpy_APH @GolfSpy_BOS @Golfspy_TCB @GolfSpy_SAM and @GolfSpy_BNG have been burning up the phone lines arranging some really cool testings for this year.   It's tiring just watching those guys work.   They all deserve a huge thanks for all they do!!

Here here.  Some truly noteworthy testing opportunities have already come through, the total number of tests already debuted is up, and (no insider info here) but I'm sure more highly-desirable opportunities are around the corner.  The mod team is killing it!
