Decent day except for 3 bad holes... all doubles and all involved water!!  But I had a much better ball striking day.  I had nine birdie chances but only made one for a net eagle.

Day started out cool but warmed up quickly; sun was out for awhile, then it got cloudy and the wind started blowing 15-20mph on the back nine... totally switched directions between #10 and #11.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Let’s keep it civil and not ask what happened on hole 13.   I’m not exactly sure I still realize what happened.

Windy day, but always good to get out. Off the tee and approach were solid, couple mistakes and not great play on and around the greens made the score a lot higher than it felt like it was.

So excited to hit my sub 80 benchmark so early in the season. It was a cold one today and I was very impressed I was able to keep it even par on the last 12 holes.

On the bright side, NO BOGEYS today. But there was no bright side. It was rainy and cold and no golf. Watched movies with the wife, so no bogeys and a nice day with the wife. Win-win.

Had another great outing, after this round my handicap is dropping to a 14.5. Struggled on the greens because they were COVERED in sand. Very very slow. Tough winter conditions and the course was decently long (6500yds) but I haven’t had issues with distance off the tee recently thankfully. Good luck to everyone in this weeks competition!

Had my normal Sunday round today. Wasn't great but wasn't all that bad. Found the sand a couple times and that really didn't help. #11 in particular was a mess. Drive landed in the fairway bunker, topped that and almost went OB over on the other side of the green, had about 50yds for shot #3 which landed where I wanted but just zoomed off the green. I assumed I was finally ready to putt but realized that 3rd shot made it another 10 yds off the front of the green. . . 2 putts starting in the fairways to "save" bogey.

After my regular Sunday round, I ran into a friend and decided to play a few extra holes with him. Well, that turned in to 18 more holes really fast 🤣

So, round 2. . .

Started the round tired. Finished the round reaaalllly tired. It was kind of like sprinting a 5k after just finishing a marathon. You know, for fun.

Really, it wasn't all that bad. I was still hitting the ball pretty good. Putts started getting sloppy then everything just went out the window by the end.

#17

Topped the drive, pulled my 2nd shot, duffed the chip, 2 putt for bogey.

#18

Slice, slice, good pitch shot, 1 putt for a miracle birdie.

#3 was probably the best scrambling I've done in a while though. #1 handicap for the course. Just a stupid hole layout. No clue what I did or was trying to do with my tee shot. The ball made it a grand total of 38yds with a 4H. Blasted a 3W to make up some ground and hopefully not go OB or one of the many trees in front of me. Easy 8i that ran forever down the hill, hooked a PW around the trees. I didn't mark the putt or pin location but I was maybe 15 feet across the hill slightly below the pin. Hard putt to make but somehow I drained it. I'll take a free par though, not complaining.

image.png.8b87ec124f8b57088b39b8547777366f.png

My uhh "long drive" for this round was actually with my 3W 😥 I guess I marked it as Driver on my app but yeah it was a 3 Wood. It was a good shot though. I was being aggressive and it worked out. Was maybe 10yds short of the creek.

@snicerz I feel your pain on tired golf! My wheels feel off a little bit on my Saturday round. I went 4, 5, 6 (all bogeys) on 13, 14, and 15. I chubbed a chip on 13, had 4 shots inside of 45 yards on 14, and on 15 I greenside in two on a par five and tried to get cute on a flop shot instead of taking my medicine and thinned it into the bunker and walked away with another bogey. Lol golf is a marathon mentally and physically. Cheers to the pros who make it look so easy!

Today did not work out as well as Friday's round.  The conditions were about the same, but it fell apart after the turn.  Somehow lost connection to my core and started leaning back.  I couldn't correct it until the last hole and by that time my card was far more than wrecked.  Still wound up with a couple of pars and twice as many bogeys, which is still a good showing for how I've been playing recently.

Not sure how to do the fancy score card and formatting lol. Happy to take advice. Pretty ugly round....cold and steady rain for first 9 holes, punched and soggy greens. Driver was on, all irons missing left a bit (think swing was hampered by my jacket and not rotating fully), as usual major frustration was chipping. Lose so many damn strokes to chipping/duffing/skulling. Bane of my life lol. I can swing 110 mph and hit the center easy, but im decrepit inside 10 yards and 20mph swing. And career? worst 6% GIR so I had to chip a lot.

I mean... What can I say?  73 scores posted this week.  You guys are setting weekly records ever week in Season 2.  Not only were there 73 rounds posted, but 49 individual members posted scores this week!!!  (Not that there is anything wrong with posting multiple scores every week... in fact I encourage it 🙂 ).

Dare I use the big number?  Is it even POSSIBLE?  One Zero Zero?  I think it is 🙂.  My only question is....

Will it happen in Week 4????  I have faith in you guys... Let's see it!!

In the meantime... let's wade through the field of scores 🙂  🙂 !!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the TOP 11 Scores of the week:

image.png

Happens to be all of the scores above were posted as Net Under Par rounds.

Season 2 / Week 3 Winners:

Low Net Score:

image.png

image.png

With a net score of 66 and more net birdies or better than I have fingers to count... playing at Glendoveer East (which I can attest is a TOUGH 18)...

@Mr. Mushball is this week's Low Net Score and Black Jacket Badge Recipient!

Congratulations MM!!  Stellar Round!!

Most Net Birdies of Better

As much as I would love to award MM with a second badge this week (12???  What!!!) I'm sure he won't mind spreading the joy across the members and  spread we will... 2nd place with 8 Birdies is also @Mr. Mushball... so we move to 7 and award this week's Birdie Badge to: 5 different members 🙂

@Jodrellimage.png @RoverRick image.png@invee123image.png @Lglasenappimage.png and @LinksgolfFeverimage.png

Enjoy your badges everyone!!

Downwind, downhill and a friendly hardpan bounce all definitely helped 😅 But you won't find me complaining!

@ncwozstill a bomb!! I have a couple downhill holes at my home track that if you get the right wind and firm conditions it can roll out. Need to move to Colorado! Is there an altitude adjustment to the long drive competition?!

Ironically, it was perhaps my poorest contact of the day that got extremely lucky. I was on 18 and hit it hard, but off the heal. Never got over 10’ high, barely carried the lake, hit the cart path a couple or 10 times, crossed the number 1 tee box, bounced off the construction fence, went down the number 1 cart path. Bounced off the curb around the putting green and rolled back in bounds. Bomb? More like a cannonball.
