Shot my personal best lowest round yesterday during a match! 36 front, 36 back, even 72 with 2 bogey and 2 birdie. Nothing insane really happened during the round other than my putter being white hot! Only 5 Fairways, but was never more that 5 yards off the fairway. I missed GIR 6 times, 4 of those my chips and putts showed up to save par.

Below you'll see my Arccos data, compared to a 6 HCP. Obviously every part of my game was going well, but gaining 5.3 strokes with the putter is HUGE for me.

All in all an up and down round, I had 3 double bogeys here and 3 birdies. I'm striking my irons better than I ever have but my putting has been sub-optimal lately. I'm also working on lengthening my driver swing to increase speed even more there and am working on some accuracy challenges as I'm doing so.

After a long day of traveling back home to Key West and a few hours sleep, I'm back playing my home course.  Of course when I was gone, they did a major aeration of all the greens.  Not those little needle-type aeration holes!  No sir!  It was the bigger diameter holes with sand top dressing!  After a week of soft New England greens and fast putting surfaces, I was faced with the unpredictable greens.  Overall, it wasn't too bad!

I continued my solid fairways hit percentage (better be accurate as typically 170 yards drives typically don't make it).  The 17% greens in regulation was one more than usual.  The unpredictability of the greens can be seen in only 3 up and downs.  Twenty-nine putts could have been a little better.  Overall, a typical round of golf.

One recent bright spot is my green side bunker play.   I slowed everything down a little when hitting from green side bunkers in the last two weeks and it's paid off.  Today I had another two sandy pars (which in the past would have been how many I got in two weeks).  

I'm back in the heat and hoping that our greens quickly recover in time to not be an issue for the MGS Match Play event.  GO TEXAS2KEYWEST!

Only slightly better than last time I played this course a few weeks back.  Got 6/7 fairways on the front, but short game stunk.   Flip flopped performance on the back and couldn't find any fairways.  Still, drives and putting were overall not bad.  There is hope.

Super drizzle, early round @0630 this morning.  Managed to get off the tee well, save 2 ugly pulls.  Around the green was better today, including a ridiculous 35' putt from the collar for a no putt birdie!!  Battling the hooks with my mid/long irons is getting irritating at this point.  .  So back to the range this afternoon.  On the bright side I had 4 gross birdies which was great!!   One more round this week and some practice, club championship is next weekend.

Most balanced round in a long time.  Best round of the year so far.  Consistent putting, decent ball striking but not great, just no big mistakes except for one hole (double bogey).  Otherwise, kept it in play and advanced the ball toward the hole.

The "Round that Could've Been". Three lost balls off the Tee, 3 doubles. Eight (!) missed birdie putts (several by inches), two lip-out chips from off the green, etc. 

The Caley's are on fire right now. The Indi wedges have me feeling like I can put it REALLY close. 

Breaking 80 feels like only a matter of time.

Rated #1 Public Course in NJ. 

Debatable, but def a nice course. 

The back- tee plays long. 7000+ yards. 

Fairways are all crooked, forcing you to pick a landing zone with precise distance. 

Greens are long left to right. Short Front to back. 

Around side of the green can make you putt 20-30 yards. 

Short of the green, a lot of trouble - bunker and water hazard. 

Long pass the green - a steep downhill into the long natural grass area. 

 

Really a great course to play.

Up and Down and around we go again... nobody start singing. but that's the way the round went. Got back in the swing and feeling pretty good. Our group played well all together and had an awesome day leading into our county tournament.

Finished the first round of our County tournament, currently sitting at T-3 at 1 over. Teeing off in about 2 hrs from now for the second round. Wish me luck!

The front nine was bad.  Nothing felt in sync in swing, It felt off the entire side, I was shocked I got by with a 48 it felt that bad, But the round turned on its head on the 10th tee with a back nine of 39 resulting in my lowest score of the year of 87 and a new career best 9 holes of 39.   Just the opposite of the front, everything felt smooth and fairly easy. 
 

I keep score on the GHIN app hole by hole, so I don't really have a written scorecard in front of me the entire round.  Just enter the score and stats form the current hole nd move on.   When I hit review round and saw iN 39, I had to stop and look at each hole again and make sure I didn't skip one....ha 

The GIR was a big step up from my usual 22 percent to 41 percent I hit 7 on the back nine and the two I missed were not far off.  My total putts were 35 but not helped by 19 on the front.   I finally found a better rhythm with all clubs and the putter on the back. 

The 3 puts on 12 and 13 demoralizing.   12 was a par 5, where my 3rd shot from 85 yards was as pure as I can hit my GW.  It landed pin high about 5 feet to right of the pin but spun back 25 feet from the hole.   My first putt up the hill was a bit strong and had a tricky 4-footer coming back, and it rolled across the edge just teasing me.

The 3 putts on 13 was a par 3 from 45 feet, ran it about 6 feet by as it was up a side slope in the green, and the par putt stopped on the lip.
