Solheim Cup this weekend

Ladies and Gents, the '23 Solheim Cup from Finca Cortesin Spain starts on Friday, hopefully our Ladies will break the recent losing streak. US has a great bunch of rookies, but Europe has some tough competition. I'm setting up the DVR as I type.

Great matches so far especially if you’re a USA fan.

Have to say I’m not a fan of the Golf Channel graphics so far.  I want a perpetual graphic of the status of each match, but so far they only have the overall score up and only occasionally flash the status of an individual match.  Don’t like that.

For those of you not watching - Pederson made a HIO - only the second HIO in Solheim history. As of this morning the US Ladies are ahead 7 - 5. Fingers crossed.

I’ve been watching o and off this morning. We spent two weeks on the costa del sol when I was a kid and my parents bought a villa there - their goal of retiring to Spain was never realized and they sold it. 
 

Lots of memories watching this. I broke 50 for the first time on a course in those hills. It’s so beautiful there.

 

The golf is great - coverage is adequate at best. These match play events leave time for too much talking

Haven't seen any live coverage but see they are all square at 8 to 8.  That makes for a nail biting singles match play Sunday.  Has anyone seen the pairings?

Major disappointment - especially Nelly. I was sure after Friday's round it was going to be a smackdown win for US ladies. Glad to see Lexi pull it out as she started the round in the hole. I watched the entire round on Saturday - I couldn't believe all of the Putts the Euro team was making. 

The real loser was the TV coverage on Saturday, they were bouncing around so much between the matches I couldn't keep up with who was playing where and don't get me started on the leaderboard.

Jamie talking some smack.  Not arguing the statement (prediction), simply that you're talking smack... a side of you I've not seen .  

As for the Solheim Cup, I had it as a coin toss outcome.  I didn't think either team would run the table and it would more likely come down to a few critical putts, mishits.  It's an uphill climb for the team trying to re-take the cup, especially away.

The USA team lost the cup on the greens; euros made putts; USA didn't.  

The leaderboard sucked!!  This was the worst coverage of match play that I have ever seen; the bouncing around was so confusing and when they showed a play Up or Down, I never knew who they are playing against.  When they did show the leaderboard, it was only on screen for a short time and very confusing.

I hope the Ryder Cup coverage is better, and I don't see the USA winning that one either.

I thought it was a compelling watch on Sunday. Enough so that it kept me glued to my iPad resetting my VPN every hour so that I could stream it off of Peacock back home while I’m sitting in Rome. Yeah, the coverage was not the best - kind like they had the B or C team while the A team is setting up over here. Nevertheless I kept resetting the VPN and stayed with it.
