How'd you play?

Shot 77 today but played really well. Lots of fairways and greens just couldn't see the putt drops before address. Took off with my razr x forged hit them solid all round. Testing out the Snell my tour ball, it's a really good ball.

My daughter was caddying for me today, cleaning the ball and clubs. I sank a 15 foot birdie on her read, I asked left or right she said left. Best day ever!

Shot 76 today in just brutally hot and humid conditions. Made a crapy bogey on 9 to shoot even on that nine which was our back. I've never broken par on that nine. I have on the other 9. I shot 40 on it today but the pins were ridiculously tough.

So 40-36 for me. I'm hitting it well. I only missed one fairway all day. Hit 11 greens!

Nice Rev, you got me all nervous now for when ever we finally get a change to meet up. I am not playing to my handicap right now. Can't fix this over the top problem that has found its way in my swing. I may even schedule a lesson soon, don't want to create a bad habit trying to fix another one lol. I am going out tomorrow to fill in for a work buddy in his Sunday group while he is on vacation. Hopefully I find whatever it is I am looking for.

Not individual just head-to-head team. In each match, you're playing against one opponent directly. You're simultaneously playing match and stroke play. Each match has 2 points up for grabs (1 for stroke, 1 for match) and you get a half point if you tie. Handicaps are applied. Then, total team strokes (handicap adjusted) and total team holes are awarded as well (2 points available for each).

During the regular season, usually 4 golfers from each team go out but it can be 8 or more during playoffs. A typical league match would have 12 points up for grabs.

I love this format really. No matter what, you're never out of it and teamwork really matters. My buddy Scott and I generally play the anchor matches and I freaking love the pressure. One nice thing about the league is it's always kept civil. While there's a few beefs that float around, everyone gets along and encourages each other. Amidst the competition, we compliment each other's nice shots and still get a round of beers after the round.

Yeah. There's an actual rulebook too and they vote changes in or out each year amongst the captains. The league has been going for like 20 years so the trophy is starting to look like a Stanley Cup.

First round I've played in about 3 weeks and it showed in my first 9 where I went +9 eeek! Turned it around on the back and I was +12 teeing off on 18 so on schedule to shoot around normal for me. Let's just say it didn't end well.

Couldn't find consistency off the driver and my putting was atrocious. Irons and wedges were crispy though. I LOVE these mizzys 😍😍.

Finally, the chrome soft is a really great ball for me. I might have found my gamer!

Charity captain and crew today. Played with some good dudes who aren't really good golfers, but we had a blast and played some good golf. Shot a 65 for -5. Winning score was -9, but there was cheating out there. Highlight for me was the last three holes.

150 par 3, hit it to 7 feet, lipped the birdie. 475 par 5, driver to 140 out, cutting the corner, nine iron to 6 feet, eagle. 400 par 4, driver to 120, PW to 2 feet.

Wish we could've kept playing as I was on fire. Just a slow start.

That's what happened to me yesterday as well. 2 birdies on the back, including one where I had to punch a 7i under some trees, over the cart path, into a mound to kill the speed. It ended up past the flag on the fringe about 15' away and I made a hero put that broke into the side door. I guarantee it was the ugliest birdie anyone has ever made. 2 hero shots on one hole I was feeling like Speith (ew) at The Open.

Shot 84 at Greensboro National. Fun course. 7 over in two holes! Other than those two, I played well. I didn't hit the driver very straight at all, but my chipping yips disappeared for a day, and I was hitting my irons pretty crisply. Should've been a 70's round, so I'm happy with the overall.

... Good round! I really enjoyed playing Greensboro national. I grew up there but didn't play golf until I was in my late 20's. Greensboro only had 1 public course I remember in the late 60's and 4 CC's. Our high school year book has golfers in long sleeve white button down shirts, black tie, white cuffed pants. Golf was most definitely not cool back then. Fast forward 30 years and there are great public courses everywhere in the Greensboro area. I loved visiting home and playing Bryan Park, Jamestown, the Challenge in Burlington and Greensboro National.

... The interesting thing about this game is it doesn't matter what your ability, we always want to play better or at least up to our potential. So shooting higher than your average is never fun, regardless of what your index is. If you shoot in the mid to low 90's like my son, a few scores of 101 and 103 are very disappointing. And if you shoot around par, a few high 70's rounds are equally disappointing, especially on courses where you normally play well.

... I have been really struggling lately with some back issues that effected my swing. I was just using too much body and it made tee shots problematic and I wasn't getting my irons close. Lots of long putts or up and downs and some not up and downs. Even though the back issues cleared up, the extra movement did not. The typical "I know what I am doing wrong but can't seem to stop it". Feeling great yesterday and my swing finally clicked back into place. After shooting several mid and upper 70's rounds I shot a 69 with 5 birdies and two bogies. Missed 2 15" eagle putts that would have been nice but I am not complaining.

Played a charity scramble today with two guys that work for me and my 11 year old son. We shot a 59 as a team and even used a few of the little guy's shots. He rolled in a 12 footer for birdie on our last hole and was excited to say the least.

That's right my very first ACE. It was so cool watching it slowly roll into the hole. me and my golf temamate woke the neighborhood with the hootin and hollerin, screaming and excitement. It was so unbelievable.

So, add me to the "HOLE IN ONE" club. 8-20-17.

Congrats on the hole in one.  Still waiting on my first one.
