I got off work early so I decided to play golf. May have been a mistake since it was 5 hour round. I played surprisingly well for not having a good tempo. We would have to wait on every tee for the group ahead to tee off. They would wait until the group in front of them were on the tee, then they would have to look for their balls out of bounds. Good thing about playing when the ground is dry, is that we got a lot of roll in the fairways. I only had one birdie, but should have had more. I had a lot of looks.

This was my first day out since we put our boy Harley across the rainbow bridge. I’m still pretty numb. I really didn’t want to be out there. I just sort of walked through the motions on the front 9. The back nine, I didn’t worry about score or anything. I just played thinking about Harley. This round was for him.

Decent round, played with a friend I haven't seen recently. But for one bad blow up hole, can't complain overall. One three putt, the Mamba continues to impress! My friend commented that my putting is "a lot tighter".... much closer to pin on first putts making the second a lot more manageable!

Listen: this is a kind of round I'd like to forget. Nothing felt "good," and I honestly wasn't even going to post it, but I took some pictures I liked, lol. 

Driver was all over the place, consistency-wise; irons were a bit of a mess; wedges and putter were the only real highlights. 

That being said, it's a tough course, and I probably shouldn't be complaining, but... We're golfers. It's what we do. 

That being said, here's some pretty pictures of the course - my first pre-sunrise round in a REALLY long time. 

(This hole is easily 50 feet below the tee box - such a great, fun par-3)

Today was the Four Ball South Texas Am Tour event and I will definitely say that the four-ball format and tournament play kept me focused on playing smart and playing safe (didn’t even attempt to get to a par 5 in 2 as it just wasn’t worth the risk). I made a birdie on 1, parred the beast that was 2, and aside from a rough stretch on 4, 5, and 6 (all bogeys), a double on 10 (my partner was in for par so I sent my birdie putt racing past and wound up 4-putting) and bogeys on 17 and 18 (with a missed 4-footer for par…and a putt that could have sunk us), I shot 78 and we turned in 73 as a team and WON 3rd flight by a single stroke!!!

First tournament win of any kind for me in at least a decade!

If you can ever find a way, Landmand should be on your list of must play courses. The course was immensely better than it was last year and can’t wait to see how it continues to mature over the next couple of years. 6 rounds in 5 days has me feeling really tired. No complaints, just really tired.

Not to be too cliche about it, but left a few strokes out there...couple rough tee locations and hanging limbs forced shot shapes that didn't match my repertoire.  Putter largely saved me throughout the day.   Had a "friendly bounce" from an errant par 3 tee shot on 9 that apparently almost hit somebody we couldn't see behind a thick group of trees and ended up 3 yards from the green (big shoutout [and apology] to that dude!).
