Last week fitter had me hit various 5h, 7w and 5w, but due to low trajectory that day gave me the HL version to try for a few days.  Felt too light and somewhat whippy.  Went back today and hit both the HL and regular and did well with both.  Probably a little longer carry with HL but good distance and height with both.

Not looking at a new driver but wanted to hit my current Fusion and see my numbers then compare to the Ping 430 Max.  Several years ago when I took lessons, they remade my swing.  When I was 40, with a bad swing technique I was measured at 96 mph,  During the lessons with proper technique, I was around 87-88 (and carry around 185).  The past 2 years I have worked a lot flexibility p, etc, and have picked up a lot of distance.  I’m now 70 yo, and today my SS avg was 94.6 (pleasantly shocked), carry at 215 and total in the 235-245 range.  My max with both my old driver and new Ping were an identical carry of 218.

Not overly happy with my 5i lately, so I am contemplating something along the lines of a utility iron or a hybrid at 25 degrees. Not even opposed to the Srixon zx utility 4 - 23 degrees as it would give me a lower launching option to the 7 wood in the bag that currently brings the rain.

Currently contemplating something similar. Not really enjoying hitting my 4i or 5i so looking at getting hybrids that will go similar distances.

Considering swapping my 52/56 wedges for 50/54 and keeping my 60. I'm thinking about custom ordering one and having my son's name stamped on it, because I'm too terrified to try that myself.

really wish I didn't just buy these wedges last year....

Bought a New 4DHY from TM and a used fleabay 5DHY since I still have a love hate relationship with my hybrid. When I hit the Hybrid right its a thing of beauty but I struggle with consistency and confidence in it. The DHY is more of a utility type hybrid than driving iron IMO and flights the ball much easier than long irons for me and more forgiveness. If all goes as planned going to a range today with with trackman to get actual numbers to compare long irons VS hybrid VS 2 DHY

My 9W is starting to come around.  I don't use it much on my course, but when I do I'd like it to cooperate.  Last week I started practicing more with it, and the one time I hit it today, I hit the green.

Those S70 irons you had inquired about are now on their site, just noticed 749s for the first time, pretty sharp. I'd get 7i- 49° AW for ~ $400 if I didn't already have the 699.

I think its time to refresh the 58* slot in the bag.  I hate to change after grinding the sole to fit me over 20 years of use but the lack of grooves is really hurting the sticking power of shots into the green.  I need to find something used so I won't cringe as I put it to the file to gain max heel relief.

Looking into new grips for everything but the putter. Having issues with the club slipping in my hands while on the course, and dealing with hand/finger pain the days after.

I think moving from a standard grip to a midsize or oversize could help alleviate some of that discomfort. Was also recommended the Winn Dri-Tac line to deal with the sweat. Need to go to Golf Galaxy this weekend and put my hands on some, but open to other suggestions as well.

I went back to GP tour velvet but went with the plus 4 version so that when I choke down the grip wont be so small for my right hand , I am in the same boat as you with hands hurting and am trying to get used to the midsized grips and they felt weird at first but they are going to work fine and started with just some clubs but will switch all to the midsize plus 4 tour velvet

what didn't you like about the 9W?  I have a 7W and it is my favorite club, I was thinking to pick up a 9W actually.

That particular one - to me, even tho I'm not an expert ball striker - had a lot of offset, set up closed plus had a more upright lie (and I'm short) .. all contributing to me trying to make a lot of compensations to not hit the ball left...

I can see, though, where the right 9W could be really helpful on the course in certain situations so may revisit it in the future.

Those S70 irons you had inquired about are now on their site, just noticed 749s for the first time, pretty sharp.

Yeah thx did see that, and am still thinking about them or the 699V2s.....

I had been using DriTacs for several years and have liked them, but they do wear out quicker than most.  Then this past year, as some have  worn out, I have been trying different versions of the dritac midsize and became sold. Having hit a lot of different clubs during my recent fitting process, I decided to do something different,  so just before placing my irons order, I tried out the Golf Pride MCC +4 on my driver, and love it.  Really has helped relax/quiet my right hand.  Based on that,I ordered my new Mizunos with the same.  Hit the new irons for the first time today with those grips and I think I’m going to really like. A lot.

Ever since I did the True golf fit thing on a different thread here, I’ve been thinking about the result. It suggested I should try the Wilson Dynapower Carbon with a Ventus Blue shaft. I love the Callaway Rogue ST TD LS that I’m currently gaming, so I’m not thinking about the Wilson head per se, but trying out the Callaway head with a ventus blue shaft has me thinking…

I’ve been a believer of the standard MCC+4 for a few years, good long wearing grips and don’t get slippery in FL humidity.
