I've been approved for a hearing aid from the VA!   Sounds a bit trivial however for those of you who have hearing or tinnitus issues it's a big thing.   :)

Schedule a trip out to OR/WA for the first week of April to reconnect with my best friend from high school who I haven't seen in almost 30 years.  He's an avid golfer and apparently is pretty good.

Since I fly into Portland our first round is at Chambers Bay!

Can't believe I'll be playing a course that hosted the US Open.... 

 

We'll be hitting the links each day ... hopefully the weather cooperates!

Got any other courses planned?

As long as you are at Chambers Bay, check out The Home Course (home of the WSGA and PNWGA) and Gold Mountain.  Both are close and very nice.

 

I haven't played around Portland; I'm always driving through.  Your buddy should know all the good ones around Eugene, but you might want to contact Mmmmmmbuddy.  He worked at the Fiddler's Green Golf Shop north of Eugene (nice store), and moved to a golf course to pursue a job at a local golf course (not sure which one).  

 

I'm headed down to Corvallis about that time, but haven't made plans yet.  I could be tempted to play if the weather is good.

I haven't played Tokatee but our local pro has and he really liked it.  I usually head to Bend, OR in April, but the first week is a little early; better towards the end of the month.

Taking my son on a golf trip in July to play Pebble, Cyprus, Half Moon Bay and Spanish Bay. Just had dinner with my board and got invited to play Olympic. If I can fit in Vegas with h him as well it will be an epic trip for both of us.

Half way through my Myrtle Beach golf-cation. 36 holes per day yesterday and today, 2 days left, and my spine is still in tact after a long, cold Ohio winter. Was also chosen to test the MTB Reds. Good day for me.

My day started with my daughter dropping my iPad and cracking the screen beyond useable. Fortunately it was insured and getting a new iPad for less than what it would cost to fix the screen. Only bad news is I had to settle for the gold one.

For 2018 my wife and I opted to add the dental and vision coverage to our medicare supplemental policy ($32. mo). Found out that they have a deal going with glasses.com (where I've purchased prescription glasses before). Got a great pair of Ray Ban progressives with transition lenses for a total of $27. tax and shipping included. Figure I would have spent before insurance about $500. at one of those big chains.

Wow!!  No one has been happy for a whole week!!!  Guess it's the weather back east.

 

Well, I'm happy!  My wife informed me last week that she was having a mammogram and ultrasound done today because she had a lump.  I was bummed out, because her mom had breast cancer.  Good news!  It's negative!!!  What a relief!
