Ok folks. Let's get this party started early. The US Open was fun, now let's get talking about the next major, tied for my favorite...

 

The Open, British Open, The Open Championship whatever you want to call it.... it's coming, and the US Open was an awesome prep for it!

 

I'm picking John Daly to win it all.

Having played the course recently I noticed so many holes that would suit a fader of the ball, so maybe DJ is a good shout, but on a links course as tough as this if the wind blows then its whoever gets the lucky bounce or is deadly with wedges as they'll struggle to reach some greens in regulation.

U always root for Ricky during the majors but if I had to pick some one to bet money on it would be either DJ or Speith. Speith has been up and down a lot lately so we will see which shows up. I would not count out Poulter and DeChambeau could be a dark horse.

 

In the end, weather always seems to be the real "winner" during the open.

Yeah, Poulter & Fleetwood both look like strong contenders, though Koepka, Johnson & Fowler are tough too. I think this year's Open will certainly be exciting.

Just went back thru the files and pulled my yardage book from Carnustie- wow did I play poorly there- yes it was tough, but I simply could not play- still have the towel, too... 

 

I agree with Topline that Fleetwood is on the cusp of winning again, or Poulter who is also playing well, as Bens197 mentioned- It will be a good test in any case!
