@Northern Monkey after the stress I've had recently I need some golf retail therapy. I'll probably stop this weekend and stock up on some golf balls for the forum trip. We'll be down near Dick's Sporting Goods and I might stop by to get some.

I can highly recommend golf retail therapy for stress relief but I must warn you of possible side effects. These are typically exhibited by the female in your life and can include, but are not limited to, increased irritability, a reduction in harmonious communication, an expectation of additional assistance in household chores, and/or gifts to a similar value. 
My advice, as a suitably experienced practitioner, is that you do not allow the aforementioned female to become aware of any stress reducing golf retail therapy and merely explain that your reduced stress levels are entirely related to having said female in your life.

Good morning Spies on this first day of May 2024.

Yesterday was a roller coaster type of day for me, as it was officially my last day at work. Wanted to make sure that all I needed or wanted to do to ensure that there was a pathway to success for those left in charge was present, but also realizing that it would be the last day to see everyone I interacted or worked with on a regular, daily basis. 

Biggest challenge for me now will be getting my body clock more aligned with not waking up at 4:00AM with no alarm, and on a later schedule.

They had a luncheon for me on Monday, and that was a great gesture, as it showed that they cared and I mattered, as that is not a usual thing they do.

Had some artwork given to me, a caricature picture by the company, and then a Corvette photo from 4 friends who do more work with their hands than use a computer.

Weather here is supposed to be gorgeous for the next couple days, so I may find range time later today, and try to get a round in before we get more rain on Friday.

Weekend for me looking like another charitable day for the Leader Dogs on Saturday, and possibly a round in on Sunday again.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning!

A little on the tired side this morning as the 3yr old decided to climb into our bed at 11:30/12 and kick me all night.  haha  It won't last long though so I try to just remember that.  

Coffee is being made and doing a little work this morning while the house is quiet.  Planning on getting a round in this afternoon if the weather cooperates.

@rkj427 congrats on the first day of freedom!  Don't worry, the 4am no alarm still happens for me 4 years after leaving the "clock".  I have learned to utilize that time for coffee, stretching and MGS.

Good morning spies! Late night of soccer has me with tired eyes this morning. Might need some caffeine on the way to work.

Weather is looking promising for an afternoon round BUT, I should mow the yard…..decisions, decisions. I’ll take the clubs with me just in case I’m not feeling responsible after work.

Congratulations on the retirement @rkj427! Sounds like your employer and coworkers appreciate what you did for them. That’s pretty cool.

Good morning MGSpies on a very nice WNY morning indeed with so many positives going on, hot coffee in the mug, computer already going up on the network for the usual zero commute  and knowing Robert @rkj427 has been checker flagged  for winning the race to retirement on the first day of the new month!  Not going to mention all the great camaraderie in the thread of mutual support for those in need of golf retail therapy, which I highly support and, I guess I did mention it   Had a great day yesterday with more to follow about that in the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke thread when I get a chance to post there today, and a very nice dinner with grown up niece and nephew from the Carolinas up for a visit to their grandparents without their parents and who I have not seen in a decade +3  Golf should be 9 on the course this afternoon in forecast early summer weather, hope golf is a part of your day too!

Good morning all!

@rkj427 congrats on the retirement and hope there are many adventures to come.

Was a drizzly day yesterday, and the next couple days do look a bit cloudy and not overly warm. Though it is keeping the bugs at bay which is nice.

Kids have a concert today to wrap up their music class which should be fun. Not much else going on today, hopefully get outside for a bit and keep the ball rolling toward the weekend.

Good morning, Spies!

@sirchunksalot again, I am sorry about the car stuff, but am pleased to hear it's not too terribly bad.

Finally, some golf is in my life!  It made the rainy drive in to work more bearable.

It's a crazy morning ahead, but this afternoon I am playing a tune up round with my best golf bud.  And?  This beautiful baby will be in the bag:

I am a bit excited.  (More glamour shots in the CHA thread if you are so inclined.)

I am completely down the rabbit hole of shortening wood shafts.  I dropped one driver shaft to 44.5", and put a Brnr Mini in the bag to replace my 3W too, and both are improving my accuracy significantly while preserving distance.  Can we talk about the stock shaft in the Brnr?  What sort of magic have TaylorMade put in that thing?  It's perfect in that club.  I tried to better it; no dice yet.

I forgot how tired a few hours in the sun can make you feel. Today, I don't have much going on besides a normal day of work. Would be a quick and easy day!

Unexpected rainy weather today.  Thunder woke me up shaking the bed at 2:30am and seems to be sticking around.  Yesterday the plan was to mow grass this afternoon, but now with the rain that won't happen.  And it is supposed to rain through the weekend now.

Wednesday, the discord day of the week is upon us my friends, use it’s confusion to your benefit. 
  @rkj427  may your retirement be long and enjoyable. 
     Yesterday, the blood letting was both literal and financial in the realm of the “ Dark Princess “…. After getting home from having blood drawn for updated testing; the  “ Female of Fairytale Finance “ finally got around to dropping the money number for the last Special Couple Day ( 3 days ) cost. Because of severe golf withdrawal instead of seeing the hard numbers, my head went to directly figuring and almost exploding with the fact that… “ HEY NOW “ that is the cost of a fully customized L.A.B. Putter, TPT driver and other shafts with fitting, and full priced Ghost Bag with needed accessories. I conveniently left out the “ fun “ concert part when I calmly informed the “ Super Spending She “ that the cost seemed a tad high to learn about and then purchase repurposed jewelry; as well as learning about vegan shoes and purchasing multiple kinds of shoes including vegan. Finished the conversation by announcing that WHEN and IF my golf exile is removed to expect a major uptick in golf expenses. 
   The “ Hamstringing Highness “ replied with the dreaded…. “ We’ll see “   
    New month starts today and I am back on the clock for “ Those People “ .. Zoom call this morning. 
    May you all make this a “ Winning Wednesday “ in any an all endeavors.

Happy Hump Day MGS Troops!!! There’s a lot of folks testing equipment out there; hope it’s going well! Have to run over to Laramie for the spousal unit. So I’m going to work from our house over there today while some of the daughter unit’s horrible roommates move out. We are halfway to the weekend folks!!!

Good Morning all! First...

@rkj427 - so how are you doing? Are you feeling like lost at sea, or .. have you already dived into a calm and relaxing retirement routine??

So just another middle of the week day here. Off to Chiro in a bit, then try to knock off a bunch of household chores (including some of the annoying ones ) piling up on the old To Do list. 

Possibly a no golf / no exercise day today, too .. but we'll see about that!

A good morning to all. I’m a very happy camper. Got notice from FedEx that my blue L.A.B.  “Lab rat” DF3 putter is enroute and that I should be getting it tomorrow, a day earlier than normal.  

  Can’t wait to start testing it.

The Maple Leafs won last night in overtime in an exciting game. Moreover, they played like they really cared, but they still have a daunting task ahead of them. The Bruins are still a very very good hockey team. Have a great day.

Congrats on your first official day of retirement! I am sure you will adapt quickly and safely to the dark side of sleeping in, taking your time to around to it, and finding ways to excuse yourself to go get a round in!

Top of the pot and Happy Hump Day Spies .  Well, it's "Horserace Day" today, a 0700 shotgun start at Granite Falls South and the finale of Men's Winter/Spring league play.  I've never played in one of these formats and, by all accounts, it should be a hoot.  

Foursomes/Teams consist of an A,B, C,& D player with the 18 holes a two best net.  The top 12 teams get into the "horserace" which is an elimination format starting at hole 15.  I'm the A player for our team and I don't know any of the other guys... at least by name.  Before the horserace starts, we can bet on teams for the win (no idea how they make all this work ).

One of the senior guys in my Monday group said, "just drink lots of beer"... .

I woke up to a "beeping" sounds at 230 am, waddled downstairs to see a battery operated alarm clock going off, I am thinking "really!!" shut it off, took the battery out and left it where my wife couldn't miss it.. Now I am tired and angry and have a 740 tee time, should be a good day lol...
