Happy Hump Day in the first of many in 2024

I am a late show for the "morning thread" but its not you...its me. Got the IT calls and emails rolling in again so diverting my attention, short as it may be, is a challenge. In any case, I am here! I was just telling my buddy @ZoonORama this morning how bad I want to hit the links, but with this weather coming over the next week I will have to settle for small swings in the office and some putting. Maybe a local sim visit if i can get away.

I am heading into this new year with lots of intentions to develop good habits. For life and for golf. Better listening and more reading are high on the list along with physical pursuits and meditations.

@cnosil You are not being unreasonable. Abnormal test results are truly very common but its still tough to hear that directed your way. You are your strongest advocate. Trust your gut (no pun intended) and get your answers.

I know Wednesday for many is the middle of the week, but gotta be honest for me it's my one day off my real job so this is my weekend!

Well, I will take back the frustration with the doctors office.   I sent them a message through the patient portal and he responded with answers to my questions.   Guess I am on to step 27 in the evaluation process.

Wow. I know this health mystery has been dragging on for a while now, so yeah it has got to be super frustrating...

Does that practice offer virtual visits?

Ours here does and .. if it's just a consult you need .. those online appointments seem to be easier to schedule within a short timeframe.

Or maybe it has to come down to no more Mr Nice Guy and be a pushy so-and-so to get the attention you need...

That's good to hear, and hopefully the 4 month wait won't cause any serious implications before the visit

Was able to cancel that appointment;  basically doctor responded and said my issue wasn't in his area of specialty; glad I didn't have to wait until April for that response.   Got my next appointment with the next doctor scheduled for tomorrow  afternoon.

That sounds like much better progress. Four month wait for that information would have been frustrating beyond belief.

Good morning and happy Thursday spies!! Starting the day out at 28° and it is going to creep up to about 34° today. Quite pleasant for January to be completely honest. I see that the bitter cold has entered the extended forecast so winter may show up in 10 days or so. Better enjoy what we have until then

At work already and usually take the call as the last item of my workday.

Good morning all!

Had a number of meetings yesterday but thankfully a bit less of that today so I can actually get some work done. My son starts his cross country skiing practice/league. Its just learning right now not racing until he is older, but means we get some skiing in mid-week which is fun. Best part is Thursday dinner is going to be pumpkin red curry which is my favorite right now.

Good morning! Good first day back yesterday which should lead into another good day today. Cold weather has moved in to stay, as we aren't supposed to see 40s for at least the next 10 days. Not looking forward to that, but hoping the snow stays away at least. For the lucky ones who get to golf today, hit em straight!

I went by HQ last night and got to see a bunch of the new clubs and got to hit a few of the new drivers.   Disappointed that I am not doing most wanted driver testing but after hitting a few realized that I would not have been able to complete a full session. .    TM looks nice, Callaway is pretty good, Cobra looks great and was impressed by the Kirkland even though it not my favorite head shape.   The trend is definitely muting the sound of driver impact

Good morning everyone. Looking forward to the community call today. If my Instagram feed is any indicator, I’m betting the focus will be on the new releases. The Paradym Smoke had to be at least 40%-50% of the posts I saw last night. Add on to that the new Chrome ball and Callaway is off to a roaring start for 2024. Add round one of the Sentry starting this afternoon and it’s gonna be a great day! Hope everyone has a great Thursday as well!!

Very jealous, @cnosil. Would love to see all the new stuff up close. Eager to hear how they stack up, or have improved from last year.

I am definitely lucky to live near HQ and be able to participate in most wanted testing and just come by on occasion.   Of the clubs I hit last night I think Callaway moved up a little more in the rankings, Cobra’s new club is solid, and the Kirkland was a big surprise and something it would consider putting in the bag. TM seemed a little off to me.  To caveat, All my trials were just randomly grabbing a club out of the bags and not switching shafts or making any adapter adjustments.

Good morning! It is so cold outside this morning in southern MI, 22* right now and a high of 30*. I really struggled with the walk from the parking lot to the office. I'm not usually one to care about the cold, but I think spending last week in NC where I hardly needed a jacket spoiled me.

Today at work is the start of yearly training and I also have several 2023 year-in-review meetings to discuss pros and cons of our work for 2023. Unfortunately, one of them is scheduled from 3-5, which is during the community call. Enjoy the call for those that can join in!

Good morning everyone!

I'm just getting the day started with a little coffee before heading out to let my buddy's dogs out for a bit. 

I can see the excitement today in the forum for the first of the new releases. I think I watched at least 3 videos on the AI Smoke driver before bed. 

I'm taking my Priya to the vet today and hoping it's just a fatty tumor and we can get it taken care of. I'll miss the community call tonight but I'll be there in spirit.

So, has anything interesting happened lately? Seems kind of quiet from the OEMs.

I didn't realize there was a release yesterday until I started getting a bunch of YT video notifications on my phone about the AI Smoke clubs. So I guess "Silly Season" is officially underway. Everyone ready to gain 20 yards off the tee again?

Chilly and cloudy morning here in the Central TN Plateau. Rain/Snow mix expected this weekend. I guess that part of the winter starts now too. Oh well. I need to find a new hitting net for my garage so I can start working on my swing changes at home. I have the mat and PLM, just need the net. Thoughts?

Good Morning!!

Went for a nice looong walk yesterday and have to admit the old legs are feeling it a little bit today. But that's ok .. it's all a part of let's get back in shape process!

As far as all the new golf equipment - I'm gonna *TRY* (emphasized) and turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to that sweet sweet siren call of ..shiny pretty new toy... 

Which I notice that is all very prominently being marketed by one of those most alluring of the pretty sirens .. Distance. Miss Forgiveness still scores a solid runner-up!

Gonna try (for real this time) to catch the community call later - but if you see my mic muted it's so you don't have to listen to me coughing and hacking (and not because I don't know how to click the un-mute ).

Even without proper shafts and lofts/lies, you can generally tell if a head is good or not. Since you hit for Most Wanted and a lot of your posts I see are awesome, I would certainly trust your judgement and "gut" from what you did hit and experienced. The Kirkland is a super interesting club at this point, and at the price is really worth a shot. Cobra really looks sweet, and even the black/gray look of the new Paradym looks sharp. Let the overaggressive and misleading OEM marketing begin.

It's a bit more on the expensive side but I highly recommend Spornia. They're easy to put up and take down if you need to free up room in the garage. Plus, they have a screen to hit into instead of just the net and unless you hit a really, really bad shot, you don't have to worry about bounce back.

I have a Spornia that works great, is the right size, is very functional and durable ... Has also been reviewed well here on the forum.
