Man, I forgot how unique Cobra Commander sounds. I loved those cartoons as a kid and had a bunch of the toys along with Transformers.

I really don't need that song stuck in my head. 

I was working with a guy in a partner pitch and he was mentioning how he was listening to Spotify and R.E.M. played on there and he had forgotten how good they were. We then tried to remember what their biggest hits were and once I got home I googled to see if we'd missed any. Well, this one came up and I listened to it and it's been playing non-stop in my head since.

Personally, I'm really excited about the Forged Tec irons and the 3D Printed, SIK Face putters. After demoing the irons and seeing those insane numbers, it's hard not to be excited about that. But those putters are just so cool and feel amazing coming off the face. I've always loved the idea of the descending loft technology that SIK created and I'm amazed at what we're capable of with 3D printing so those putters are right up my alley.

One thing I'm super interested in trying is all of the new Aerojet fairways and hybrids with no signature Cobra Baffler rails. I will admit that the rails are what drew me to Cobra a few years ago but they have slowly been doing away with them and on my Big Tour 3 wood I don't seem to care that they're gone.

I’m excited about the irons. I’ve been a big fan of their woods for a long time and this years Aerojet line looks to be another contender. However, their lineup up of irons this year is a step up. If the performance matches the looks, cobra will have my money for sure. Lol.

Im still pretty new to golf but I'd gone to a demo day last year and subsequently purchased a Callaway Rogue ST Max D driver.  I'd be most interested in seeing how the Aerojet driver would compare.  Not sure if I would get the regular or the Max.

Looking at all the options through the bag puts my mind in overload!!

What I find especially intriguing about this test is the ability to play one brand in its entirety. As someone who plays no fewer than 4-5 different OEMs at any given time, I’m interested to learn how that might benefit or detract from one’s game. Enjoy these next few days all, while the wonder of possibilities still consume our daydreams, before the harsh reality sets in that there can be only six of us that will continue this voyage. If not among the chosen, this is one thread that will be required reading as it progresses.

Sample bag? I'll do it in text so it isn't a huge post...

Driver: Aerojet LS 9 degree, stiff Project X Hzrds Black

FW: Aerojet LS 3W, Stock stiff shaft

Hybrid: King Tec 3H, stock stiff shaft

Irons: King Tour, 4-PW, stock stiff shaft

Wedges: 50, 54, and 58 snakebite wedges  

Putter: KING 3D Printed Grandsport (I think the 3D printed style is super neat)

All this excitement has me reminiscing about my past cobra clubs. I found my old amp cell max irons kicking around. These irons have always had a special place in my heart and I got them for $250 when sports authority was going out of business. Was an off the rack purchase but $250 for a college kid on new irons was all I could afford and these things were as MGS staff likes to say was a winning lottery ticket.  I also have a 6i of the black king forged mb’s because I was contemplating getting them and wanted to try them out before buying. Unfortunately some bills hit and I couldn’t buy the complete set but I’m still glad I have the 6i since it’s better than nothing. 

 

I have a few super old school woods that I’ll be posting later but I have to find the 3 wood first.

 

Fingers crossed I get to compare some old to new!!

I think it's cool you still have them seeing as how they were your first set. That was a really good price on those and I would wager you got a lot of enjoyment out of them. It's crazy to see the size difference between the Amp's and the King MB. Thank for sharing the photos and the story.

Funny but many thought the Pro S head was HUGE and wouldn't even consider playing it along with it being silly loud and needing hot melt. Didn't like my first one at 10.5* that launched very high with a ton of spin. I had always played 10* or 10.5* heads and went to a Cobra demo day and the 8.5* head produced similar results to other higher lofted drivers. It is in mint condition and I just can't bring myself to sell it although one day ...

For the many who won't be picked, but expressed interest in trying one length clubs, Callaway pre-owned has a 5-6i Ltdx stiff flex in "other brands" individual irons" considering the 7i is the most common demo club and easiest to find, this stood out as a cheap chance to try them, maybe with a one length PW and SW.

It’s not my first as I had a set of mcgregor m85i tourney’s and my first first set was a hand me down of baffled blades that I can’t find but. Those things were triangles on a stick and not the clubs to learn on by any means.

Found my old 3 and 5 woods from way back when. The 5 wood was impossible to get out of the bag since it was so easy to hit. Ironically I have a graphite design in my driver now and an Aldila going into my 3 wood and I never knew those where the shaft manufacturers for those clubs and now they are back in my bag. Funny how things come full circle every now and then.
